Open Drakenhardt Forestier Engagement Party

The young waitress, who Celeste had hired to help set everything up for the engagement party that evening, placed the last of the hors d'oeurves, finger foods and pastries on the side tables of the very spacious living room of Roldan Drakenhardt. She then made sure all the candles and flower arrangements had been set out and that there were enough chairs for guests to sit down if they chose to.

"Thank you so much for all your help," Celeste smiled as she approached the young woman. "Everything looks great. I see there are even peonies, magnolias, and bamboo in the bouquets as well as a bowl of fruits on the dessert table," she remarked, delighted that the girl had managed to add a few traditional methods of bringing good luck into the home, something that warmed the witch in her.

"Mr. Drakenhardt will be pleased," Celeste added happily as she smoothed down the elegantly cut on the bias blue sapphire silk dress which offset her beautiful fire opal ring. "Oh... Before you go, could you please make sure there is enough ice in the freezer?" she asked, starting to feel butterflies in her stomach again as the first guests started to arrive.

Celeste Forestier had been on cloud nine ever since Roldan had proposed to her on Valentine's Day, and it showed, she still exuded a radiant happiness. However, she was also just as nervous as any newly engaged person could be, and she really wanted the party this evening to go as smoothly as possible.

(Feel free to jump in. No posting order. This engagement party thread would be for any characters who know Celeste Forestier or Roldan Drakenhardt. Also, partners of anyone dating any of the Drakenhardts are invited. I am assuming they have probably met Celeste and Roldan at some point.)

Iesha was never really one for parties but this one was different: her foster father... her dad Roldan finally engaged with Celeste and they are now all truly a big happy family!

All of the signs where pointing to it eventually happening but ever since Roldan proposed, Celeste has been head over heels. Celeste has always been a soul so full of joy but never has she ever seen her brimming, no overflowing with happiness as she she is now. Seeing Celeste so overjoyed, Iesha can't help but be infected by that positive energy she was giving off.

Iesha looked around at all of the preparations, everything seemed set for the guest when they arrived but if there was anything last minute that needed to be done, Iesha wanted to help in some small way. Wearing a pleasant white and purple and white floral dress, she slithered to Celeste and beamed a big and bright smile for her... soon to be foster step mother? Maybe... mom would just be easier.

"Ummm... e-everything looks b-beautiful! I'm sssure everyone will love t-the party. Ummm... anything l-left to help ssset up?"

Roldan was as excited as Celeste, and maybe as nervous too. He had gotten some gentle ribbing from a few of the other officers, but he had let it slide off his back pretty easily. Today was about them and about letting everyone know that they were going to get married.

He walked around the party, keeping an eye on things and greeting the guests who had arrived early. He saw Iesha and Celeste and moved his way over to the two of them, crouching down to be closer to his daughter's height. "You both look lovely. How are my two favorite ladies doing? Do we need anything else, before the guests arrive?"

Then, lowering his voice like he was sharing a secret, Roldan gave both his fiancee and daughter a sly look. "Also, I made sure that the caterers left a clear path to the pool house in case the guests get too rambunctious and we need to beat a hasty retreat."

He knew that Iesha was still pretty shy around others and he wanted to make sure that she had a comfortable way to get away from the party if she started feeling overwhelmed. But admittedly, the escape route was for him as well. He knew that some of his older relatives would be coming, and even if Grandpa wasn't, some of them were just as bad.

Celeste broke out in a warm and very welcoming smile when Iesha appeared at her side and held a hand out to her soon-to-be daughter. "You look lovely, Iesha," she said as she looked at her fondly.

Glancing up when Roldan joined them, she placed a hand on his shoulder, glad and relieved to see him.

"Your lovely ladies are doing great, we are little nervous maybe, or at least I am," she admitted with a grin as she glanced at Iesha.

Hearing that he had set up the pool house as a quiet place to escape to, especially since he knew Iesha sometimes felt overwhelmed, made Celeste feel all warm and fuzzy inside, strengthening her belief that he'd be an amazing father.

"Well, if your mother and grandfather both show up, we might just need to hide," she joked. Celeste actually liked Roldan's mother, but she knew that she could be a handful, especially if their grandfather showed up. Two big personalities in the same room, the thought of it was terrifying.

Iesha's body jerked as a voice called out to them, but relaxed once she saw that it was none other than Roldan. She smiled at his arrival.

"Oh! Roldan! I-I am doing well... r-really well." answered Iesha. When told about her personal escape route, Iesha looked down the path to the pool house, then give Roldan an affirmative nod.

"T-thanks Roldan... I really really appericate it. M-maybe... if Orsick c-comes t-the two of use can sssneak out to t-there." whispered back Iesha. While she was familar with most of the guest, there are some in Roldan's family she can't help but feel... intimidated by.

"A-and thank you Celeste! I... I wanted to look m-my bestest sssince its a v-very big day for you... or rather... err... both of you actually."

Celeste couldn't help but smile at that. "I am sure Orsick will be here soon. Since I believe almost all the Drakenhardt's confirmed," she explained warmly as she looked at Roldan for confirmation before continuing.

"Azure is also somewhere, probably laying low. He's not a fan of big crowds either," she said, sympathizing with both her "children".

"M-mhmmm...yeah... maybe I ssshould go f-find him and l-lay low together." mentioned Iesha, looking around to see if she could find Azure but failed to find him right off the bat. She was sure that he was around somewhere, the question was where.

"Ummm... oh I got you both a gift! I-I even wrapped it up n-nicely in a l-little box. Isss there a p-place that I ssshould leave it at l-like a table? Or... d-do you want to j-just open it now?" asked Iesha. It was just a small little gift she picked up at local store with a homemade card attached to it. She wasn't sure if such gifts where customary for an engagement party but it felt like the nice thing to. After all, Roldan and Celeste has given Iesha so much that she felt it only right to get a small little something for them.

How a pack of five wolves managed to keep itself relatively out of sight and out of the way was a mystery to everyone except Azure. It was fine though, Azure wasn't so ignorant to understand that this was an important party. He finally made his appearance and was dressed nicely. He wore a silver dress shirt and black pants. He'd awkwardly stuffed his tie into his pocket, seeing as how he didn't really know how to properly tie it, and he hated things around his neck.

His tail swayed a bit as he looked around silently before making his way over to the food. That was at least one thing he could really enjoy at the party. Hopefully things wouldn't get too noisy though. He knew Roldan's pack could be a little rowdy at times.

Roldan got a wiff of Azure and looked over at him with a smile, but focused his attention back on Iesha. He hadn't expected a gift from her and was honestly super touched by it. They had made a lot of progress since he'd gotten custody of her again. Kneeling back down with a smile so that he was eye level with her again, Roldan kind of offered her his hand to take the gift.

"You can give it to us now, princess. We'll open it together, yeah?"

Looking back at Celeste as he stood back up, Roldan slid a bit closer to her so that Iesha could see both of their faces as he opened the gift to see what was inside.

Iesha grinned as she goes to find the gift real quick and presented it to Roldan. Once the gift wrapping was removed and the cardboard box opened, was a 8 cup/2000 mL pyrex measuring cup protected with a coffee cup with a plain white coffee cup resting inside. As the cups where pulled out Iesha was quick to explain.

"C-celeste is really really good at baking so I thought she could use one of those bigger measuring cups! And uhh... I t-thought you would like the c-coffee cup cause it tells you when its warm!"

If Roldan was was test it out and warm up the coffee cup, black lettering that reads "HOT STUFF" in bold, somewhat curvy lettering would appear on the cup's face. Iesha beamed a big smile to the both of them as she seemed quite proud of her gifts.
