Emma had not been expecting the transformation that had just taken place though it certainly answered her question. Now standing in front of her was a majestic looking bird that burned like the sun, but seemed to not actually burn at all.

"That's a pretty neat power?"

She paused a moment. Emma didn't know if that was something proper to say. She hadn't really had much interaction regarding peoples powers. Her mother was always going on about the people she would see at work, and their different abilities. But Emma had never really cared much or payed attention for that matter.

"I mean, You look fantastic."

"Being a bird has a few drawbacks, but most of them can be easily worked around in the glamour of a human.", she spread a wing for a moment, "However these wings of mine have seen the entire world in a lifelong and a half journey, doing so incognito was a difficult task, and with my serenity-bringing presence it was common for people to mistake my human self as an angel."

Emma raised her eyes brows. She understood how a body shape could be problematic in ways. Her own after all was currently stretched out several feet from her bag to Serena. When Serena spread her wings, Emma instinctively raised herself up another foot or so. Back on her home world large birds were less of a threat if one could appear larger and so she had been taught to respond in kind.

"You are very impressive."

She had become good at being incognito as of late. Hiding in plain site, avoiding others was what she was getting rather good at. In truth this interaction was probably the most she had talked to any one person that she wasn't forced to talk to, since arriving here.

"An angel? I've uh. I've read about those. Divine beings with wings right."

She had found the religious pantheons of earth to be rather charming in nature. Do good and go to heaven, do bad and go to hell. That was one of her favorite ones. It was so simple and sweet.

"But I don't consider myself an angel, or a goddess, or a demon. After all, all I seek is to help all that I can.", Serena explained herself, "It was hard to tell humans that I'm just a human too, specially because I knew what I was, what I would eternally be. At first, believer I it was a curse to never truly die, but thinking about how much I can help makes me accept such gift."

"You mean you were never tempted to like... Tell people you were?"

This seemed strange to Emma. Maybe because she was young, but somehow the idea of being a divine being seemed neat. If anything it would have been fun to mess with people for a while. But then again, perhaps that would bring too much attention. Messing with one person, could quickly turn into two, then four, and eight and so on. Before long a mob with torches and pitch forks arrive and that's really no good for anyone.

"So you just enjoy helping people? That is a rarity I think isn't it?"

Even on her own world, helping people for nothing was not a common thing. Everyone has needs, and people who offered something for free, often had a secret agenda. That was why her parents insisted so much on the value of hard work, and earning your keep.

"My foster father was the only who kind of knew what I was, but in his eyes I was his child.", shortly after she turned back into a mostly human form... She still had her golden, burning wings, a white robe coating her body. "I have my parents to be grateful for. My father was caring for a being he knew was nowhere human, and my mother had a good fame for a witch in our village, since she used her knowledge to heal those who needed."
