Emery was rather lucky, if that wasn't obvious to the people around him. There was a kind of boldness that made his house stick out. With such a spacious house, there was room for at least 4 others to live comfortably. Though he sometimes had visitors, he had no other residents over if he could help it. A lot of the time, Emery just enjoyed the loneliness that his house gave. Serene, peaceful. Today though, oh how that was going to change! He had a guest over, kind of like a house date, or something like it. It was a very exciting day, oh yes! The man had gotten a rather perfect route map and drawing of his house, as the little water boy was quite the artist in his spare time. He had cleaned as much as he could, making sure to push anything under something else if it looked gross or out of place. It wasn't the best job, but Emery wasn't used to having to make his house look, not like a trashcan.

Emmett had wasted no time in starting his journey to Emery's mansion. Using the drawings he had been given and his own knowledge of the city's layout, he hadn't had really any difficulty finding the place.
This was a date, or something like it, and based on what he had read in books and on websites, he should dress up. So Emmett had taken the liberty of going out a day before and getting himself some new clothes beyond the things he wore to work and that one t-shirt he had bought.

So there he was, walking up the path towards a mansion in a short sleeve polo shirt and khaki slacks, not really sure what kind of feelings he was having. Was he nervous? Emmett really didn't get nervous, except around fire. Excited? Maybe a little. This would be one of the first times he had made a decision for himself; his first ever date. And his first movie.
He didn't really know what to expect, but he was going to play it by ear and see how things went. Which was just fine with him, seeing as that was how he did things usually anyway.

Standing at the front door, he looked around for a minute and adjusted his shirt's collar one last time. He had opted to leave his gun at home, though he had decided to bring a few small stones with him regardless. No sense being fully unprepared, even if this was supposed to be a personal visit.

You could say that Emery looked rather cute. He wasn't sure exactly how to dress, but he tried his best to look fancy. After all, he had been a prince for his entire life. Rather than trying to mimick the flowy but tight shirts and pants of his native kingdom, he decided that going with something more 'hipster' would work in his favour. With a navy blue dress shirt and a black bow tie, there was a feeling of cuteness that came off of him. His pants were simply some dark jeans. Maybe it wasn't the best, but it was a house date. His blue hair was thoughtfully pushed to the side, which definitely didn't make him look anymore grown up.

The little fish waited at the door, watching from the peephole his date walking up. Oh how he looked sharp and dignified! Emery just wanted to eat him up! With a smile, he opened up his front door to Emmett. "Hi! I'm glad you made here!" Now what? Was what he supposed to do? Pondering in the doorway for a second, he grabbed one of Emmett's hands and tried with all his might to pull him in. Sadly, his 4"8' stature didn't help him move the 7" man from his standing position.

Emmett found himself chuckling a bit as the door opened and Emery tried to pull him inside. Almost immediately he gave way, allowing the smaller man to pull him through the door.
The mansion was huge, and if the oppressive silence was anything to go by, Emery lived alone. The golem wondered to himself why someone would choose to live alone in a place large enough to house dozens of people.

He nodded at the greeting, letting the smallest of smiles come forth. "Good to see y'all too. Yer instructions were pretty well drawn, so I didn't have no trouble gettin here."
Emmett scratched his cheek, unsure of what to do. He knew he was here for a movie, but he didn't know if there was any normal procedure for this. Finally he let out a long sigh before saying, "I s'pose we should set up fer the movie?"

When he got into his house, there was a thrill of energy that went through him. He was having a date! Oh how exciting this was. "Good, I love draw!" His broken english spat out, coming off more like a failed attempt at translation right off the bat. Emery kept a hold of his hand, seeing nothing wrong with the gesture. "It's pretty?" The man gestured out to his entire house, showing it off in one swoop of his arm from left to right. His face lit up at the mention of why they were actually there, but the thought of actually setting it up seemed... Far off. "Okay, but, how?" He knew that they were indeed watching a movie, but he had not a clue as to how they'd get to that point. It involved a tv, or something like that. You had to press a lot of buttons and then it worked... Maybe? Emery squinted at Emmett, looking rather dumbfounded.

Emmett wasn't sure how to react to Emery's excitement. It seemed almost child-like, which put him slightly on edge.
He nodded at the general sweeping introduction of the house, and merely replied, "Yeah. Pretty."

At the other man's apparent confusion abojt how to set up the movie, Emmett merely shrugged.
"I can set it up if'n y'all want. Just lead the way."

Emery was just glad that he has something positive to say about his house. It wasn't often that he had the chance to enjoy someone's company. With that, he nodded and led the man up to the second floor. After a few seconds of awkward hand holding as they walked, he let go of him once they had reached the living room. "I think that thing?" Emery chirped as he pointed to the fireplace. "N-no!" His finger moved yet again to show the tv, just to the left of it. "Do you want things?" To that, he was referring to any drink or snack the other man might want.

Emmett wasn't sure how he felt about the hand holding. He knew it was pretty typical for dates, from what he had seen when watching other people. It was nice, he supposed, but he wasn't quite sure what it meant here. Usually the people he saw holding hands were close, and he hadn't really had a chance to really get to know Emery yet. Maybe the younger man was like him, uneducated on the finer points of dating and so just mimicking behavior he had seen before.

When they reached the room with the television, Emmett gave a simple nod and moved over to the device to set it up for the movie. This was something he knew. A task needed completing, and he would complete it.
He didn't go to work immediately, instead pausing for a moment at the question Emery asked him. Taking his date to mean food, he rubbed the back of his neck and offered a small smile. Would it be impolite to refuse? Anything he ate would have to be removed manually later. Finally, he gave a shrug and said, "A glass of water would be nice, thanks."

His face felt oddly flushed, as if the hand holding had been an overdose on human contact. It wasn't as if he didn't get it contact ever, but there was something behind it. There was a sense of the unknown, of excitement. "Water okay." He nodded, knowing he could manage that. He turned and sprinted downstairs, going into the kitchen so that he could get what Emmett had asked of him. Emery filled a jug of water -as he was also a bit parched- before grabbing two bigger glasses. It was much, but that was all the other man had asked of him. With that, he made his way back up to the living room and set it on his coffee table. "Water." Emery made sure to give a big smile in Emmett's direction, enthused about this date.

As soon as he saw Emery disappear from the room, he got to work making a reservoir in his chest so that he could actually drink the water. It was a somewhat grotesque sight, him stretching his mouth open farther than should have been natural and hollowing out a space inside his chest. He was just glad that his date wasn't there to see it.
That done, he got back to setting up the TV for their movie. He gave a nod and a small smile when he noticed the other man return, but otherwise kept working. It took a few minutes still, but he eventually got it working.
