Don't let anybody get in your way

Gabriel shook his head and entwined his hand with William's again. His smile could be classed as shy, by other people, but those who knew Gabe would disagree.
"It's okay...," he frowned slightly, "if it helps you then it's okay. I was just taken aback, I suppose." His laughter rang through the courtyard, echoing against the walls.

"I don't want you to go," Gabriel blurted out without thinking. He cleared his throat, his voice dropped a tone, "I meant, um well yeah nevermind, I enjoy your company, it's been nice talking to you so it'd be a shame to end our conversation so suddenly." He tried to gauge William's reaction.

<div align=center>William lifted an eyebrow, glancing briefly to his hand, a slightly confused look upon his features. "What are you...?" He broke off and shook his head, he didn't want to make things awkward. Gabe's hands were rough, and callused, Bill presumed he played an instrument, he wondered what. Guitar, bass? Gabe didn't seem like the sort of person that played guitar, his hands were a little larger than his own, he presumed it was the second, "you play bass?" He asked quietly, still staring blankly down at his hand, he couldn't say he wasn't exactly enjoying the other boy's company, though he was a little more what William would call eye candy than anything else, still, he was sweet enough.

"Maybe I phrased that wrong..." He felt bad all of a sudden, his brow creased, "I didn't mean.. I don't wanna..." He tensed up again and let go of Gabe's hand all of a sudden, tucking it underneath him and shuffling away, "I'm sorry I'm being rude," he squeaked, though he'd warmed up to Gabe a little, and William somewhat desperately needed a friend, it didn't do him good to be on his own for a long time, everyone needs someone to talk to. "It's not you, it's just I.. I want to go inside."] He insisted, frowning at Gabe.</div>

Gabe looked down at his fingers and laughed,
"Oh," he nodded, "yeah, I do, play bass I mean." He glanced at William thoughtfully, "I sing sometimes too." He grinned, "will you sing with me sometime?" Basically Gabe just wanted to hear William sing, he didn't know why he had a fascination with hearing the younger man sing but he was dead set on it. "Like karaoke or something I mean."

Gabe shook his head rather violently,
"No, no don't worry you're not being rude!" Stretching as he stood up off the bench he yawned. "It must be hard to be around so many people when you can hear all their thoughts... it must be draining."

<div align=center>William sighed lightly, "I sleep a lot." He told him, "I'm used to being tired all the time, by now." He took a moment or two to push himself to his feet, stretching and yawning softly. There was no way in hell he'd let Gabe hear him sing, William would frankly rather throw himself from the roof, and the look he gave the older boy voiced those feelings loud and clear. "I'd rather not," he returned, "if you don't mind." Bill laughed to himself, dropping his eyes to the ground, I can't sing, no use asking me. He was beginning to feel sleepy, and it was getting difficult to concentrate on things, he'd rather not pass out in front of Gabriel, though Bill didn't doubt he'd be looked after by him, there was an air around him that Bill trusted, the sensation comforted him a little, William loved comfort. Affection was something he greatly appreciated in large doses, though you might not have guessed that.

He turned to Gabe suddenly, blinking once and staring at him, "what can you do?" He asked hurriedly, the question coming out far quicker than he had intended, he wasn't used to knowing that everybody here was special, or different in some way, he'd lived his whole life thinking that it was only him, and how wrong he'd been.</div>

"I sleep a lot too but that's because I'm a lazy little shit," Gabriel chuckled, he could afford to insult himself, he had a big enough ego that it wouldn't make any effect.

"Oh...," A flicker of disappointment washed through Gabe's eyes before it was gone again, perhaps the boy couldn't sing and his inkling had been wrong. I'm always right, Gabe was cocky too.

"Should we move indoors?" Gabe asked, pacing backward and forward, "it might be less draining for you to talk in there, some place quieter?"

" I can control electricity," Gabe replied. Control might have been an overstatement, whilst more often than not he could control it in moments of anger or excitement he often lost the reins, It doesn't really seem like a huge power but I can do things like create power cuts, accidentally or on purpose, or sometimes I can give people shocks."

He shrugged, "I don't do that usually though." A white lie, he had shocked a couple of his friends before but only lightly, as a prank.

<div align=center>Something flashed across William's face that could have been fear, he didn't like the thought of being electrocuted. "That's.. That's scary." He mumbled quietly, hunching his shoulders a little. Though thinking about it, William could probably drive people to insanity if he really wanted to, there was no telling what he could do if he got angry. Though, the thought of William getting angry was almost funny, it was difficult to imagine it, he was so softly spoken. He yawned again, his eyelids felt heavy, and he was already half asleep as it was. "I'm.. I'm sorry.." He muttered, I'm just really.. Really tired.. It'd been a while since he'd taken a nap, William was like a child in that way, he tended to get cranky if he didn't nap, though, it was more cute than anything else.

A moment later he found himself using Gabe as a support, his head rested on his shoulder, of course he didn't realize he was doing this until his head snapped up, and he blinked sleepily. "Oh my goodness I'm so sorry!" He jumped sideways and clasped his hands together, "I didn't mean to do that, it's just..." His sentence trailed off, and he yawned again, Gabe smelled good, and it made Bill drowsy.</div>

"S'not that scary," Gabe laughed and sensed William's nervousness of him. "Don't worry it's not like I'm going to shock you," he promised. Though whether he could keep that promise...was another issue.

"Come on you're wrecked..we should go back to my dorm or something..., " Gabe suggested, "you can sleep in my bed." He then realised that might have sounded slightly vulgar. "Not for any sexual reasons," he assured, "though if you were up for it," he wiggled his eyebrows, back to his usual, dirty minded, joking self.

"There's no use sleeping here," Gabriel mumbled though he couldn't tell if William was already conked out.

<div align=center>William blinked, looking a little concerned. "No.. I..." He shook his head and laughed nervously when he realized that Gabriel was joking, though it was a strange joke at that, he thought. He smiled softly, and thanked him. Bill might as well have been sleeping, his mind was only registering half of the things being said, and half the things he himself was saying. Anything to lie down for five minutes, or ten, or perhaps three hours, who ever knew with William. It took a couple of minutes of him thinking about sleep for the sensation to overcome him completely, his head had dropped against Gabe's shoulder again and he could feel his legs almost completely drop out from under him.

It was lucky Gabe had been holding onto him because otherwise Bill would have most likely had a rather nasty fall. His eyes had fluttered shut, and his mouth had dropped open. It was more than evident the poor boy needed sleep, he'd dropped off here and now and it wasn't entirely clear how he'd left Gabe to take him back inside. Then again William really wasn't all that heavy, and it probably wouldn't be that difficult for Gabe to carry the boy.</div>

"I was joking," Gabriel clarified with a broad grin. He watched William as the boy was getting sleepier and sleepier, just like a young child, it reminded him of just how young WIlliam was.

"Oh," Gabe mumbled when William had nodded off. "I'm just..gonna carry you..back to my dorm or something." He told the sleeping boy, he waited for a response just to check if the boy was half asleep but when he didn't receive one he scooped Bill up into his arms.

William was skinny, and this made him light, despite how tall he was. Gabe didn't have any trouble carrying him out of the courtyard.
