When Valerie finally hugged him, Tucker felt like it was finally over, and he returned the hug, assuring he was there for her. There was the thought of irony that crossed his mind; that just a few months earlier she'd ran to this island searching for him and he was just about ready to drive her off if it wasn't for the fact that she wasn't lying. Having the places reversed was emotionally taxing; it was harder for her to accept the situation this way with parts of her memories gone.

In the quiet calm, the only thing that seemed to break it was the harpy's growling stomach. Tucker couldn't help but laugh. His laugh had been light, relieved for the most part. At least for now. Now that he'd promised they would visit Valencia, he had to tame the disquiet slowly brewing at the back of his mind.

Tucker loosened his hug around his daughter, enough for her to pull away but he didn't push her off, thinking she'd probably want to hide her face a little longer. "I came up here to bring your breakfast but it's probably gone cold by now. Do you want to warm it up first?"

Albeit embarrassed, clearly, the sound of her father's laugh turned that embarrassment to glee. It was such a nice sound. It's a wonder she lived without hearing it for so long. It was so beautiful a moment that she would have cried but she already done enough of that.

Her father loosened his hug, probably waiting for the harpy to let go, but she held on for a while longer, at least until the blush disappeared from her cheeks. But the warm and fuzzy feeling she was getting almost made her forget to do that. If she could, she would have held the hug to make up for the time she didn't get one from this half of her family.

She could definitely tell there was a difference between her parents' hugs. Her mother's wings would wrap all around her, giving her such warmth that can beat a blanket's on a cold night. Not to mention she was a lot fluffier than her father. Her father's hug didn't feel like a blanket at all. Without the feathers, he wasn't as fluffy either. But his arms felt like they could keep her safe from anything. They were firm and a little heavy. Completely different but it gave her the same fuzzy feeling she got from her mother. Maybe a little stronger.

Looking up at her father, the embarrassment fading away, she nodded. She could wait for the food to be warmed up. But before she completely pulled away, Valerie gently tugged on her father's sleeve and timidly asked, "Can I call you daddy?"

Hearing the question a second time made him laugh again, more amused than the one just before. "Of course you can, Val," he said, ruffling her hair slightly. When, and heavens, he sure hoped when she recovers her memories, she would probably look back into this and prod him about it; but that was something for later. Right now all that matters was that they've smoothened things out.

Tucker smiled at his daughter, just relieved he didn't have to go to lengths to have to keep her from running out--he knew he couldn't afford that in her current situation. He wouldn't know what he'd have done if that happened and he wouldn't want to go out levelling the neighborhood out of concern for her safety.

Petting her hair just a few more times, he stood up. "Now, I'll go on ahead and fix up your breakfast; you should get ready and catch up downstairs, is that alright?"

"Daddy!" she exclaimed with a giggle, giving him another hug. Her mood had already been improved since the whole debacle happened, but it was clear that that improvement had been doubled if not tripled just because she had someone to call 'Daddy'. Her cheeks had warmed up and her heart felt like bursting into rainbows. 'Happy' failed to even begin to describe her.

The petting made her feel loved back, and if she were a cat in this situation, she would have been purring. Although her father had to let her go for now, she wasn't sad by even a bit since she was going to be having breakfast with him! But like he suggested, she had to get ready first. Her current clothing were... a bit too large for her to put it lightly. "I'll be right there!" she said, picking herself up off the floor too, although holding on to her lower garments so they wouldn't fall off. There was nothing for her size in the room, no matter where she looked. Maybe she could wear that blanket like a towel...?
