Sagari looked over and watched as Arty hung his head slightly and marched over to a rock plopping down on the ground leaning against the hard stone.
She sighed and grabbed Shell's arm pulling him, gently, away from Arty so that he wouldn't over hear them.
She looked back over her shoulder once more before explaining in a hushed and drawn voice.
My power comes with some, well exchanges I guess you could say. she brushed a piece of her hair from her face before continuing.
In order for my powers to be able to work, they take something from me. Whether it be my energy, or something else, I don't really know all of what it can take, but I do know that because I brought Arty to life it took some of my life. At this point, she paused momentarily, she always had trouble telling people about her age expectancy, they always felt sorry for her...but she didn't want them too! She was living her life to the fullest with the time she had left! I probably won't live to see 35. she finished with a sigh.
Arty thinks it's his fault that I am going to die so young, so he's super overprotective. she said looking up at Shell to see his reaction.

Shell watched as Arty marched over to a rock, his head hung low. some thing was obviously wrong; did he say something to cause it? Then Sagari pulled him off to the side, hopefully to tell him what was going on with Arty.

My power comes with some, well exchanges I guess you could say.

Exchanges? Shell didn't quite understand for the moment. He listened more carefully to fully comprehend what Sagari was beginning to tell him.

In order for my powers to be able to work, they take something from me. Whether it be my energy, or something else, I don't really know all of what it can take, but I do know that because I brought Arty to life it took some of my life. At this point,

Shell looked at Sagari, a mixture of sadness and curiosity. He couldn't believe that part of Sagari was in Arty, was what brought him to life. He was curious as to what part of Sagari the power takes, but he knew that taking part of her life meant nothing good.

I probably won't live to see 35.

What? So young? Shell couldn't believe that just because of one trick with her power, it takes away practically half of her life. Shell simply looked at Saragri, surprised and slightly sad. He knew that she wouldn't want him to feel sad for her or anything, most of the people don't, but obviously he was going to feel at least a bit sorry for her, no matter how recent he met her. "Well, guess you're not gonna waste one day then, are you?" Shel said in a joking kind of tone, hoping it would maybe lighter the mood a bit.

Arty thinks it's his fault that I am going to die so young, so he's super overprotective.

Shell took a quick glance over at Arty and gave a weak smile. He looked back at Sagari and said, "Well it's not his fault, and you've told him that though, right? And I guess finding out that someone really close to you has their life cut short and you've convinced yourself that it's all your fault, then no wonder you'd be overprotective. That maybe if you protect that person from any harm at all, then they'll survive...you know?"
