Riley's day had turned sour quick.

She made it all the way back to the school just to see one of her friends - only to learn that they had gone home to Greece for Christmas. So she'd made this whole trip through the snow for nothing. She had brought a gift, too. She wanted to surprise them. Now their dorm parent was holding on to that gift until they came back.

So now Riley was in a funk. She didn't want to go out into the cold again, just to go home to her foster family. So she sat in the student lounge and just sulked, huddled up in her winter coat on a couch, thinking about what she would do instead. The TV was on, muted, as a meteorologist made wild gestures about the the steady snowfall that showed no signs of stopping. She ignored it. Maybe she could go bother Tai instead, or see if Dalia or Orsick was busy.

Soon her sulking would be interrupted.

Normally, Krish could take someone not believing he's a god. Really. He'd just get the last word in and walk away before anybody could say anything, then he could just believe that they came around to believing him. Great way to work around others trying to give facts or something like that, in his opinion. He could even forget who didn't believe the lie and go on with his day.

This time, however, was quite a bit different. He had ended up slipping into a conversation that he was a god to liven up what he felt was a pretty boring discussion about gods themselves. Yes, maybe that's what he been told is intrusive, but contributing in a conversation meaningfully is another thing that's been suggested to him by Jia, and a lie counted, as long as nobody found out.

It was found out, badly. He used another dimension as the supposed place he have been worshiped and ended blanking a few too many times about, well, everything about the gods in that dimension. And then the duo have laughed, and now Krish was following these two to make sure he was eventually believed.

"Look, obviously my memory is off because I just showed up to this dimension." That's a thing, right? "So I can't help if you two are just so unbelieving that... Hey! I'm still talking to you guys!" The duo have been walking faster and faster, enough that he have been jogging to keep up, but now he had to break into a sudden sprint to get through a door they were about to close, right in his face! He didn't look around to see where they've ended up, instead he whipped around to face the duo again, ignoring their annoyed rolling of their eyes. Who cares if they're annoyed!? "You guys think you know everything or something?! Gods are always different, I probably know that way more than you two, but is that so hard to accept? That I'm a god who's just having the smallest of memory issues?"

Riley heard the butt-end of that conversation. This... guy? He sounded sort of guy-like, so Riley would go with guy. This guy was desperately trying to convince these other people that he was actually a God. And they just seemed annoyed, maybe a little amused too. They didn't believe him.

It pissed Riley off. People didn't believe Riley either for a while. She used to have a cult, and that was just in this lifetime, but as soon as she came here she got faced with all sorts of doubt. And it would be such a stupid thing to lie about. A bunch of redheaded people with human forms ran around calling themselves dragons and nobody questioned it; why did this have to be so much harder for people?

"I'm a goddess too!" The little girl inserted herself into the conversation without hesitation. She jumped out of her seat and walked over to the group. "Reincarnated god of destruction. So I also got memory problems, innit. You think I'm fake too?"

Riley certainly didn't look very divine. Disheveled red hair a little damp from her being out in the snow and coming in, beat up winter coat, boots with a couple small scorch marks on them. On top of it all, she stood just a few inches short of 5 feet tall. She looked old enough to be in middle school, if they were being a little generous.

But she did look a little mad. The look in her eyes and the tone of her voice dared them to tell her she was fake.

Krish haven't met any gods yet while at this island. Still had enough of an imagination to think they'd probably look human, with a feature or two more fantastical. Maybe glowed. Not exactly how he looked, but close enough to feel confident in pretending.

But turns out even the fantastical feature isn't even required, apparently, if this girl coming into the conversation was telling the truth. Briefly, he had to pause from his own arguement and take a look at the girl. The redhead seemed to really, actually believe him. He smiled, pointing towards the girl next to him. "See? Reincarnated destruction goddess with memory problems. Now what does that sound like, oh yeah, me!" Currently, support from any god was good, even if he frankly had no idea who this girl is. She's the one that wanted to help, and taking said help was only normal.

Krish crossed his arms, continuing. "Doubt it's a coincidence that a disease god and destruction god are having similar issues. You must be so-" He have been leaned forward towards the two with a smirk on his face as he finally got some more information to fake, but then, almost like a final resort, one of the duo shoved him back and bolted with the other.

Krish caught himself before he crashed into the girl, and turned to the retreating figures, yelling after them. "Looks like we were correct!" He took a few steps forward, speaking over his shoulder.

"You should hurry and follow if you want to say something quick, they're going to be out of here in a bit. And getting to get the last word with people like that is just as we gods should do." While he could try to continue arguing on his own, having some assistance didn't hurt, so long as he could still look knowledgeable.

What a weird thing to believe about being a god, Riley thought. But he did say he came from another dimension. Lots of weird stuff happened in other worlds.

"I mean... we kinda already did that, innit? Riley said. "So screw those guys." Even if they did push this guy away, they were running scared. Which brought up another good point: "Besides, they was running scared. Mortals should fear the gods, so..." She shrugged.

"Why the hell don't they believe people like us when we try to tell em what we are?" She asked, not quite expecting an answer. "It's so stupid."

"I mean... just so long as they're running." Krish finally turned away from chasing the duo, shrugging. If he thought about it that way then this felt more like a win, not some sort of loss to an argument.

He pointed towards himself, purposely standing taller. "They probably do fear gods, they just act like they don't and mess with us instead, 'cause if they don't, then they got to know there's something that can be way more powerful than them. I bet on it!" That had to be at least part of it. It was a pretty big reason he was still saying all this, he had to look genuinely powerful for once in this place!

"So yeah, they probably are just making sure they don't believe anyone's a god just 'cause they feel less important or something. It's pretty freaking stupid, especially since we could just be proving we're powerful with our powers. I guessing you can blow stuff up, and I think me calling myself a disease god is pretty self explanatory." Hopefully. He didn't exactly think up anything else a disease god should be able to do, but he had the basics as a thought of one so he must be similar, if way less impressive. But hey, that's why he just had to exaggerate!

Riley thought about his answer, and shrugged a second time. That explanation made as much sense as anything else.

"Yeah, I blow stuff up," she confirmed. "I can do more than that though, but that's one of my things. I'm Riley Keegan, by the way." She gave her full name, since there were a bunch of Rileys at Starlight.

She extended her hand to shake, but before he could reach for it, she would pull back. "Shaking your hand wouldn't get me sick, would it?" If he said she wouldn't, she would extend her hand again.

Krish also went to shake Ridley's hand after a moment with a shrug, he might as well. Still, he unconsciously drew back at the same time as her, something like an itch in his head telling him to. He quickly reextended his hand back out after Ridley asked her question, her thoughts probably were the reason he drew back. Always couldn't tell what impulses were just his own thoughts.

"That's not how my powers work, I just look at people and if I want them to get sick I can do that." He laughed. "Used to do it a lot more 'cause seriously, people go into the worst coughing fits just like that!" He snapped his fingers as emphasize before clearing his throat. "But yeah, you won't get sick unless I decide to make you sick. That's like me worrying I'd blow up shaking your hand when you clearly aren't going to. And, just to say, I'm Krish Liang, if we're giving names."

Hey, if they were doing introductions then he should get his name out, in any sort of way.

"...Huh."

Riley didn't immediately see the appeal of making people sick, personally. Unless maybe if the person was an asshole. But she could sort of understand it - her domain made her pretty fascinated with destruction, and some people thought that was kind of weird and unsettling. Maybe he was like that but with sickness.

Either way, she shook his hand now that she knew it was safe.

"So I guess you're in college classes, innit? Other gods are usually way older than me, and they just come here to get a degree from the Uni or something."

Rest of the gods in college classes? Great, he wasn't even a real god and he was already feeling less intelligent than people he didn't even know! Well, he could make things sound less bad than it was? Krish did think he was pretty alright with that.

"Not exactly, they put me in remedial, but honestly, that was probably 'cause I'm from the country and never ended up in normal schools. I was just the god of some people, why would I learn any of this stuff?" He only had a bit of hesitation in his voice near the start of his "explanation" but once he had an idea of where to explain this to he was back to normal confidence. "I'll be out of those classes soon anyway, can't be too hard." That was definitely not the truth, somehow he was already having disliking those classes and he haven't been here for a while. Unfortunately, this lie was a little too much too keep his usual straight face, so he put on as wide as a smile as he could and kept his eyes somewhere towards the wall. He could keep a straight face no matter what, but maybe a few needed a fake expression, at least.

"So if you're younger than everyone else you're in... what? Middle school? Elementary? Or, like, high school and you just look like a kid?" He seriously couldn't tell. You could look like anything in this Academy and go to any class, he himself had to count as an example. This Ridley girl could count as well.
