Name: Dmitri Hysteria
Age: unknown(appears to be late 20's)
Birthday: unknown
Gender: Male
Species: Eldritch nightmare
Category: Citizen
Career: Defan Retainer
Appearance Description: He's on the taller side, standing at six foot three. He has a muscular build, shoulder length hair, and a generally handsome face. He's generally noted to have a rather tired expression on his face, which is further accented by bags under his eyes.
His true form is a thirty foot gray six legged serpentine monster. His upper half sports golden rib like growths and his underbelly seems to be a strange red boiling chamber. However, instead of air bubbles there are innumerable eyes. They seem to vary in intensity according to his mood. The upper portion of his body also sports gold rib like growths and a pair of shadowy tendrils that can function both as wings and a means of attack.
Personality Description: Dmitri is muted but also strangely expressive. The best comparison is someone forced to act in a stage show, and putting little to no effort into their roll. That isn't to say he has his tells. The most obvious of these, being a heavy sigh when he's feeling discomfort or irritation. This also doesn't mean he's incapable of making friends and acquaintances, he's simply strange. He fails to see the significance in many “human” aspects of things, however that doesn't stop him from trying. Dmitri prefers actions to words. All in all he's a being who finds other life forms curious and wishes to learn more about them.
Species Abilities: Being an eldritch abomination, Dmitri can naturally comprehend information that would be considered incomprehensible with relative ease. Likewise, he's able to perceive the truest forms of other members of his species without any negative effects. His human form maintains peak physical conditioning, and is capable of partially transforming.
His eldritch form is capable of flight via the shadowy growths protruding from his back. He sports an abnormal degree of flexibility in this form, as he can contort himself in seemingly uncomfortable positions in tight spaces. This form is capable of moving along walls and ceilings. Interestingly, no matter what surface he's standing on, he always seems to be effected by it. In other words, he always feels like he's right side up.
Probably due to his otherworldly nature, Dmitri doesn't seem to need to eat or sleep. Similarly he seems to be able to breathe just fine even in spaces where he simply shouldn't such as underwater and vacuums. He is still effected by water or a lack of gravity in the sense that he needs to swim or have some means of propulsion. He is also still effected by heat and cold.
He has a strong resistance to mental stimuli. A human telepath may be able to enter his mind, however Dmitri thinks as an eldritch being. His thoughts would be difficult if not impossible to comprehend, like radio static. Most standard psychic messages are lost on him lost in his own thoughts.
Weaknesses: He can still be harmed by conventional means. In his human form he retains the average human weak points, shots to his head and heart are fatal. Beheading him in either form will also kill him. He has a natural aversion to the Elder Sign, especially when he's in his true form. The sign can be used in various rituals that can trap, banish, or kill him outright. Siderite is a rare but effective material that has similar effects on him as silver does for werewolves, or iron to fae.
Powers: In his eldritch form Dmitri possesses a toxin that induces fear like hallucinations in its targets. He can administer this toxin through a bite or similar to a cobra, he can spit it in a liquid form. The severity and length of time of the hallucinations depends on how much venom he's actually administered. A standard bite can last around three minutes with relatively minor effects. Higher doses can traumatize the targets long after the venom has worn off. In extreme cases, a victim will remain in a fearful state long after the toxin has worked its way out of their system. An anti-venom can be synthesized to stop the hallucinations and immediate effects of the venom. Power nullification and healing magic can also work to stop the immediate effects of the venom.
Biography: Not very much is known about Dmitri's past. His exact age, and origins are mostly unknown. He could be anywhere from centuries to at the very least twenty. He fails to see its relevance given the fact that he's here now. What is known is he's the offspring of a powerful eldritch abomination and some nightmare creature. Dmitri has implied that he'd spent a bit of time off island before getting scouted and coming to Manta Carlos. He's since been on the island for several years working for the Defan family. He watched over Kylar while he still lived with them and later Theodore, eventually becoming the latter's right hand man.
