He felt the god's words flow over him, and he was right, Xeros seemed to have no meaning for him, yet there was feeling in back of his mind, that he knew that name, as if there were missing memories, things he should know, but didn't.

He stepped back, the confusion in his eyes increasing, sense he arrived on this island he had learned that much he had thought was fantasy had been proven to be reality, "I'm just a human," he said as if trying to convince himself that what Sarro was telling him was impossible despite everything he had seen.

"I'm mortal, my powers aren't even supernatural, they were caused by an artificial mutation," more excuses, more attempts to rid himself of the feeling in the back of his mind, the feeling that everything he was being told was somehow true, "I can't be a god. How is that even possible?!" It didn't make any sense to him, none of it did, he had always had an open mind, its what allowed him to adapt to the island so well, but this was to much for him.

"I realize this is a lot to take in, and i'm not asking you to just accept what I tell you, but do try to believe me when I tell you it is true. All I ask is that you hear me out. Listen, I have a temple-ship in orbit of this world, if you are willing, I can show you what proof I can provide on such short notice." Sarro explained, setting a hand on Aedans shoulder.

He should say no, the part of his mind where his sense of logic and common sense told him that this was overall a really bad idea, he had no reason to trust this god let alone let him take him to a spaceship, but that sense of familiarity, that this being could be trusted remained in the back of his mind. "Ok, I'll go with, but just so you know, I don't believe a word of this."

"Not many do....at first anyway." Sarro replied.

"Stand next to me, and try not to freak out. I hope you don't get vertigo easily."

Sarro moved next to Grief, who looked up at him with it's insect eyes before waiting patiently, knowing what was coming. Once Aedan was stood next to him, Sarro reached into a pouch on his hip and revealed a glob of water. Sarro held the globe of water up to his face and proceeded to whisper something at it, before dropping it onto the ground with a small splash. After a brief moment, water rose from the ground and began to form into another globe around them. Once formed the globe of water suddenly shot into the air at great speed, passing over the city and shooting through the clouds.

They rose higher and higher until they passed the planets atmosphere out into empty space. This continued for a while until the groups vision began to ripple. Suddenly the ripple dissapated and a very large ship suddenly dominated their view. The ship looked in many respects like an extremely large gothic cathedral, with what appeared to be stone spires and stained glass windows dotting its length. There was even a large statue near what appeared to be the ships bridge, it had the appearnce of Sarro, holding two katanas at his side and kneeling in solemn despair.

Suddenly the water globe zoomed into a small opening in the ship, and began zipping through a large tube until it final landed in a large splash in a large room. The room was intricately crafted from a gray marble and on the other side a fountain depicting some creature in a solemn pose stood, water pouring prom the statues eyes. Despite having traveled in a globe of water, neither of them were wet, although Aedan would feel as though his eyes were full of tears.

"Sorry about the eyes, a slight side effect of tear travel. Welcome to my templeship, The Disparity."

It happened so fast, a glob of water, and suddenly they were shot into the air and into the ship, once there his hand went to his eyes, wiping away the tears that Sarro had mentioned. With his eyes cleared, he looked at his surroundings in awe, the ship was amazing, it was unlike anything he had ever seen. "I've....never been on a space ship before, I've been to the space station a few times, but never a ship."

He pushed his amazement to the back of his mind, "you said you had proof here," he was still very skeptical to all of this, but that nagging feeling never left his mind, "I assume records of my so called past life."

He stepped forward a bit, his glowing eyes continuing to look over the ship, "you said we were friends when I was this, Xeros."

"Yes, I do, right this way." Sarro said as he gestured Aedan to follow, "You stay here Grief, rest a while until I return." he said, gesturing for Grief to stay put. The creature let out a short low wail before resting its head on the ground. Sarro led Aedan through a number of hallways, all of the intricately carved from a mix of metal and stone, with various saddening statues and decorated banners along the way. Occasionally they would walk past humanoid beings wearing white or grey cloaks and wearing silver masks depicting teared eyes. Some were small hooded figures who were usually seen carrying a few scrolls or some other heavy loads. All bowed as they passed Sarro, not a single one, even in a hurry, would refuse to bow.

"Heh, i'd like to think we were close friends, yes. It was....disheartening, when I learned of your death. The only consolation being the knowledge that you would return someday, reincarnated in another body. We did not expect you to reincarnate so far from home however." They continued on until they passed through a very large doorway, leading into a very large and open hallway with a very high ceiling. On either side of the large doors were very large, hunched figures whom also wore the white or gray cloaks, theirs were more tattered and worn however, and both carried very large silver axes.

One groaned to the other to grab its attention, and both kneeled as Sarro and Aedan passed. Within the great hallway some kind of chanting choir could be heard, and indeed at the very end of the hall two rows of cloaked figures chanted in unision, while a central figure, what looked like a great priest, lead the chanting himself as he faced a giant great bell that stood silent for now. Otherwise the hall was filled with more of the cloaked figures, all kneeling with their heads bowed, one arm extended outward with their palms up while their other arm clutched the space in fron of their heart, all facing the great bell. On the outskirts of the hall, red cloaked figures with what appeared to be a great number of cybernetics, did not participate in the mass prayer but instead tended to various machines around the hall.

Sarro motioned for Aedan to keep his voice down in here, while they made their way to another doorway to a different hallway. This hallway wasn't as large as the previous one, but was still rather large regardless. On the walls, 3D metal carvings seemed to move and shift in place, each one seemed to depict some kind of scene.

"Welcome to my ship's hall of legends, most detail my exploits, but a fair number should involve you as well. Go ahead, take a look, I am sure you will recognize yourself when you see him." Sarro said. Indeed if Aedan were to look at some of the moving carvings he might indeed notice one figure who looked uncannily similar to him. Along the hallway were various smaller halways branching off from the main room, all filled with other additional carvings. But, if Aedan paid enough attention, one in particular was rather dimly lit compared to the others, almost as if it was trying to hide its contents from the rest.

He watched the moving carvings, they were the history of an alien, probably multiple cultures. He stepped a bit closer, his eyes landing on one, it was him, a few years older but it was definitely him.

So for a time he stared at the statue, it was all too much for him, this couldn't be real. He shut his eyes trying to sort throught his thouhts, make sense of all this. "This can't be real....." it came out calmly, "I'm mortal.....I've met gods before you, I'm not like them," he was close friends to gods, he was dating one.

He looked toward Sarro, "what do you want with me?" He let the question hang in the air, "if this is true, and I'm not saying it is, what does it mean for me?"

Sarro shook his head, Aedan was still deep in denial, this wasn't going to be easy.

"What do I want with you? I'll tell you, I want my friend back. These past couple centuries have....not been kind to me, nor to those I call friends. I'd hate to lose another, or rather, I'd hate to loose you again." he said stepping closer to put a hand on his shoulder.

"I know this is a lot to take in all at once, that none of this makes sense or seems right. But now that i've made contact with you, your memories will start coming back again, in time you will remember everything. When you learn that this is truth, you'll be able to rejoin us, see all of the comrades you once fought alongside of, to guide the followers who once would follow you to the ends of the universe. To retake your place as the guardian God of Protection."

This......none of it made sense, "I...I...." He didn't know what to say, despite everything he'd seen sense he arrived, this just seemed impossible. But something in back of his mind told him it was true, some echoe.

"So...you're saying.... me wanting to protect people," he looked at him, "you're saying that it was never choice?" He gritted his teeth, "that it was some....preordained destiny your pantheon decided?!"Needless to say, he hated the idea, he couldn't believe in destiny, couldn't believe that all the awful things he'd seen were meant to be.

"I cannot say whether or not your life was prefabricated Xeros, but your sense of guardianship, your need to protect everyone you can, that has always been a part of you. It's why you were chosen for godhood in the first place, so many centuries ago. Just as I was chosen for my deep connection with sorrow." He attempted to explain.

"You don't need to accept it all at once Xeros, but please, just give it time, consider all I have said. The memories will come back in time."
