He blinked. Surely there was some part of the psychology he had learned in his short thirteen years that would answer to this.

"People are different, no one's the same. Especially their way of thinking. To understand someone, you'd have to consider every variable in their life and they're current attitude. And some people don't know that they can get better by going with other people."

He stared at the strange girl. Was she ignorant to everything in the world? This girl was strangely innocent, to kind of everything. I mean, he knew several people who kept their problems to themselves, because they don't like trubling others with it, but also the same people just don't have an outlet, or some place to forget as she said. And if they forgot, they would feel emptiness.

Moria looked at him, "So it's impossible to help my friend change his not to good habits?" She asked him, this boy seemed very smart. Moria was odd, she never had parents that stuck around. Reform schools were all she knew, she knew strict rules and beatings. She then knew jail, she didn't like when she was alone. She hated loniness with a passion, she hated it as one would hate a veggie or fruit.

She wanted to understand why people wanted to be alone when they were in pain. And why they wanted to drink and use other things to help them when it wouldn't. She wanted to be able to help people like this.

'When did she jump to that conclusion?' More explaining, more talking. As long as the topic didn't switch to himself, he was fine with it. He was fine with everything that didn't involve his family.

"Not nessessarily. It just depends on how they act, what they believe. You might wat to find out why they smoke first. It might be an addiction; it might be because of their depression. A lot of people use not-so-good ways to soothe their problems." He stopped there, almost knowing she would most likely ask why, but didn't really feel the need to elaborate.

"You can easily make them stop by having this person feel more comfortable, do it in steps, try to befriend them, then tell them that smoking is bad and of sort. Just don't rush it," he said matter-of-factly, knowing fully well that it was easy to do this since it had works with quite a number of animals and his sister.

"But, if it's addiction, it's hard. Unless you can convince them that it is bad in health for them, they probably won't stop. They probably can't stop without good help," he added, remembering what a magazine had said about additiveness.

"I know... But they won't share while they do, and nor will they really talk about the past. I figure they had a bad past like I have and yet they just do seem to want to open up at all so I can help." She said confused and slightly annoyed at how complicated everything always was.

"You can easily make them stop by having this person feel more comfortable, do it in steps, try to befriend them, then tell them that smoking is bad and of sort. Just don't rush it,"

"How do you not rush it? I mean I try to take it slow but because of their not liking socialization it's hard to be able to speak to them more then the occaisonal time." She said with a sigh.

"But, if it's addiction, it's hard. Unless you can convince them that it is bad in health for them, they probably won't stop. They probably can't stop without good help,"

"But they know that... And they don't care." She sighed unsure of how this was helping her understand it at all. She looked at him puzzled, "You don't happen to be a phycaiotrist?" She asked accidently pronouncing it terribly.

"Eh, no I don't. I just happen to like observing things," he said bluntly, while he was being truthful or not, it didn't really matter right now.

After all his schooling and lecturing sort of rambles, he finally found out that he sorta forgot what her initial question was. And her persistence reminded him.

"Well," he said sighing, "This person probably has had a bad past, using smoking as a depression therapy, and doesn't care overall for their physical health..." He stopped, thinking of the little parts that added up. Not caring, indifference, lack of empathy, it was really hard to try and figure out what goes on in their minds. Kiiroi, of course, had first hand experience, and that's probably what made him snap.

"If they don't care, it's a wonder why you would even try to help a hopeless person," he spat out, rudely, and glaring at the floor. "They're despicable people who don't think about others, even when they're trying to help. That's the type of people I hate the most," he vented, finally calming down. "Look, if you really want to help someone break out of a bad habit that they know isn't good for them but they don't care at all, make them care. That's all that matters."

"And it's psychiatrist."

"Eh, no I don't. I just happen to like observing things,"

She nodded understanding, she wondered if this boy ever had straight out answers. She was kinda immpatiently patient, she waited.

"Well, This person probably has had a bad past, using smoking as a depression therapy, and doesn't care overall for their physical health..."

She sighed she knew this, what useless facts that was, she had tried hard to not lose her patientience. But he kept taking forever to answer her questions and she was trying to hurry out of there so she didn't annoy him. She waited still hoping that by waited she wouldn't annoy the boy.

"If they don't care, it's a wonder why you would even try to help a hopeless person,"

His answer sent her in shock, "He's my friend, I know he doesn't want me as a friend but I made him a promise that'd I be his friend even if he didn't want me to. And if I'm his friend I care about his health, and it'd be wrong for me to turn my back on him because he's hopeless."

"They're despicable people who don't think about others, even when they're trying to help. That's the type of people I hate the most,"

"He's not despicable! He's my friend!" She said passionately with conviction.

"Look, if you really want to help someone break out of a bad habit that they know isn't good for them but they don't care at all, make them care. That's all that matters."

She sighed this was no help... "Jeez, after all that you'd think you'd have a better answer." She got up. "I'll leave you alone to comtemplate what is truly hopeless. Because I'm not giving up on my friend." She said to him.

"And it's psychiatrist."

She just nodded.

She was probably the most simplest person he had ever met. She just thought differently from him, so he took her statements anyway.

"I have a right to my opinions, and I was generally saying those who don't care, they don't respect," he shrugged. "I've had experience with someone who doesn't care. You just took it differently."

"Jeez, after all that you'd think you'd have a better answer."

He sighed, eyes closing. "I meant, he was pretty lucky to have someone like you caring about him. He still doesn't care that you care about him. Make him respect that fact."

He looked out the window again, into the snow covered grounds. What was more hopeless than a firm thought on not changing? He might be a tad too critical with his views, and exclude himself in everything, but he knew that he had never tried to change his brother. It was wrong in him, but, as his brother, he knew and didn't try to change.

"Good bye, then!" he said, with the air and manner had he not just sprouted into a long winded explanation of things, and with a serene smile.

"Oh..." She sighed still not understanding it, he was too smart for her to understand. She decided not to annoy the boy with more questions or tell him anything more. She wanted to kinda leave but then stay. She decided to leave and find other company.

"I meant, he was pretty lucky to have someone like you caring about him. He still doesn't care that you care about him. Make him respect that fact."

She sighed, she had tried ways to do so without being mean to him and it didn't work. She looked at him, he was a interesting boy not a mean boy. Just not her cup of tea, she looked at him wondering why he hated people if he was so smart.

"Good bye, then!"

She looked at him sadly, "Do you hate me?" She asked truly wanting to know if he was angry or hated her.
