Out of all the children that Celeste Forestier had taken in, Azure was the most enigmatic. He was sort of distant, quiet, and more often than not tended to be off doing things on his own. Well... wolf things. That being said, if he'd been asked he was always willing to stick around. This time around though things were a bit different. Azure's curiosity had been piqued, he wanted to learn magic. He actually got fairly high marks in his magic theory classes. It had gotten to the point where his teacher suggested taking on a discipline of his own. He had no idea where to start with any of that though. So here he was tracking his guardian down in the house to get her opinion on it.

"Hey Celeste..." he said quietly when he finally found her.

Bringing in a few plants, herbs for the winter, Celeste stepped back into the kitchen when Azure came through the kitchen looking for her. Glancing at him, curious now when he called her, Celeste put the herbs on the counter and smile at him.

"What's up?" she asked as Celeste walked over to where he was. Azure rarely sought her out for much, and while she had respected him, let him do his thing, that didn't mean that Celeste didn't worry, but she knew she had to trust that he'd open up and come to her in his own time.

He called out for her, and now he wasn't quite sure what to say to her. There was a brief few seconds of him thinking of how to word this. The sound of wolves making quiet noised could be heard.

"Well I don't know if my teacher said anything but uh... they said I've got a natural talent for magic. And um... I dunno they said I should think about looking into it more."

Azure shifted awkwardly in his spot. It was just strange coming to Celeste like this even knowing she'd be supportive, probably give him some good advice on top of everything.

Celeste nodded in understanding, "Yes, your teacher did comment on it the other day, but also that you weren't sure whether you wanted to pursue the art or not," she said as she sat down on the arm of the sofa.

"Were you thinking about it maybe? Or did you need help finding which magic to pursue?" she asked curiously, knowing she could help him with whatever he needed, or almost. And if she couldn't, she knew Rafael always could.

"I... well it's kind of overwhelming, honestly. There's a lot of different magic, how do I even know what's a good fit?" he tapped his chin. He really had no idea where to start. But he understood the fundamental basics really well.

"Are there ways to determine what might be a good type?"

"There are various ways, yes..." Celeste said with a tiny but serious nod at his question. "It will take a little work, and some time just trying to judge, get a feel for the different types of magic," she told him. "But most definitely, if you have magic in you, we can find out what type it is and what might be a good fit for you..."

"You see, there are different ways to use magic. There are spells, runes, ritual..." she told Azure, "there is also like an inherent magic, elemental magics are that way mostly... like Zoraida with her water magic which is basically connecting an idea to its outcome... it's not hard to do, not really, we'd just need to find your element if you wanted to go that route." she explained as she looked at Azure questioningly.

"My element..." he said thoughtfully. Elemental magic seemed to be a really common trait with magic users. Especially if it was inherent to their being, like his friend Ava. She was a lava dragon, magic kind of seemed to be tuned to her body. Azure thought about it a bit more. Then he recalled something he'd heard before. Not at any point recently, but from the world he'd come from.

"I remember someone saying wolves are like wind. I was really little so I didn't get it, but maybe there's some truth to it. I like wind and being outside, and running. But with stories like the three pigs, or wolves representing the north wind, maybe there's some truth behind it."

He shrugged, the only real way to know for sure would be to test things out and see.

Celeste smiled and nodded at Azure. She completely understood what he meant. He was seeing signs, things that led him to his magic and what he could, if he choose to, be. All, or most, mages had a moment of reckoning.

Hers had been wanting at the age of four, maybe five, to help a friend when he had scraped a knee. She had placed a hand on the scrape, fascinated by it, feeling bad because her friend was crying cause it hurt, and wishing, that she could help him. And almost instantly, the scrape started healing before her and her friend eyes, causing both children to stare in awe at what happened... though neither her nor her friend at the time, realized that it was Celeste who had done such a thing.

"Wind, air elemental..." Celeste said thoughtfully as she stood up and regarded Azure almost critically as if she was looking for something that confirmed his words. In reality, she was trying to fit the idea to him, and yes, she could see it. Even his appearance was slightly windswept, and his stance, the way he moved was quiet as a breeze.

"You know, I can see it being your element," she then said with an affirmative nod. "Would you like to try and see?" she asked him.

Azure blinked in surprise. They could try something right now? That was a lot more than the wolf was expecting. As long as he had a basis for knowing what his alignment was elementally, then he could learn what he wanted. Or something like that right?

"Um... sure, I'll try it yeah."

"Great," Celeste said as she got up from the couch and went to the kitchen when Azure told her that he was willing to see what magical element was his. There she filled a clay bowl full of water, grabbed some sandstones that she kept for Shale to munch on, a candle along with some matches, and then some incense which she placed in a holder. Finally, she opened a closet and pulled out a long and rather wide slate board and some chalk.

Afterwards, she drew a large circle on the slate board, which she had placed flat on the floor, large enough to fit the four items that represented each of the four elements - the bowl of water for water, the stones for earth, the candle for fire, and finally the incense for wind.

Then she drew a symbol representing each elemental form and placed one by one each item on top of each symbol, lighting the candle and incense as she did so.

"There," she said as she looked at Azure, "Now, I need you to take off your socks and stand carefully in the centre of everything." she told him as she thought about the next step.
