Private Detention Aftermath

Amber paced back and forth outside of Nathan's dorm nervously. They were suppose to go on nice date and watch a movie together. Cute couple stuff! That plan came to ruins when Nathan texted her that he was in detention which left her in feeling panicked and uneasy. Nathan couldn't let her know the exact details but promised her to explain what happened after his detention. So with nothing better to do she just stood by the dorm waiting for his arrival.

She couldn't stay still as questions plagued her mind. Questions like: What did Nathan do? What if he didn't show up? Was he playing hookie with another girl using detention as an excuse? Or maybe another guy? Was this but the first in Nathan's dark decent into delquency? Was Nathan going to be sent to Juvie Island for bad behavior just like her sister!? With all these questions throbbing in her mind, she let out a grunt and started messaging her temples, telling herself that she is overthinking things and it all wasn't a big deal... even if it was big deal to her. What would everyone think of her, the goody goody eight shoes that she is, if people know she was girlfriend of serial troublemaker?!

Amber was so self preoccupied with her thoughts she near didn't notice Nathan until she apologized to him.

"H-huh? Oh Nathan!~ You're-" Amber, in her initial excitement, nearly goes to hug her boyfriend before she stops herself from doing son. Instead she puts on a scowl and and crosses her arms, the tone of her voice changing "Oh... Nathan... you are here. Yes let us go inside... we should talk."

As they entered the room, Amber continued to put on a show like she is mad. Maybe part of her was but... the act was mostly because she was scared that if she was gush on him like she usually do it would reinforce further bad behavior.

"So... what happened." demanded Amber, in an uncharacteristically stern tone.

"What!?" exclaimed Amber as she flailed her arms, exasperated "It's a super big deal Nathan! I can't be dating someone whom be getting themselves in trouble! What happens if they decide to throw you to the Inlets instead of detention?"

Amber then lets out a heavy groan, rubbing her temple with one hand, letting what sounds like agitated spider noises.

"No you can't just... make up it up to me with ice cream or books. Not today. What even did you do to warrant detention anyhow?"

"Well what other reason is there? You are the one that put yourself in detention with... with whatever you did." countered Amber, not quite looking mad but very much displeased with Nathan at the moment.

Upon being told why it was Nathan got in trouble in the first place, her face softens and her eyes widen. Welling inside of her were a mixture of emotions: sympathy, anger, disgust... guilt. Just the thought that some boy out there was calling her lewd things made skin crawl and thought perhaps she was judging Nathan too harshly.

"That... that was... oh... I... I didn't know." admitted Amber as rubs one of her arms awkwardly "I thought you did some bad like... vandalized something or got in fight or disrespected a teacher... I didn't know you were trying to stick up for me."

"I... admire what you did but... you should have avoided the argument in the first place. If you overhear someone saying lewd things about me like that about again just... let it go. I don't want you to be brought down because you are trying to like... protect my honor or something." Amber then looked to Nathan apologetically "I'm sorry that I got mad... I didn't want to get mad at you but... I just thought... it would have been a bad precedent if I didn't make a big deal about you getting in detention."

"I'm sorry for getting mad and... not being supportive." apologized Amber as she embraced Nathan.

After the kiss on her forehead she rests her head on his chest and closing her eyes as though she were listening for a heartbeat. Their hug felt like it lasted for hours though she was pretty they were only a few minutes in reality.

"Alright... lets not make any more of big deal of this detention. I know our plans for today got mess up but... well let's try to do something fun now yes?"
