To say that DeShawn is muscular is a bit of an understatement. Years in the military have left him quite muscular with a well developed frame that compliments his 5’10” height. He keeps his hair in a tight fade and his facial hair in a well groomed chin strap/goatee combo. His eyes and skin are both brown, but the former is a warmer, lighter shade while his skin has a cooler tone to it.

In all instances, DeShawn dresses for the occasion he is in. Military service taught him to dress well and keep himself clean, and he does. He fits a suit and tie as easily as he does his combat gear. In a more casual setting, he prefers dressing comfortably in clothes that allow him to move.

DeShawn is driven, single-minded, and resourceful. He has an unwavering faith in what he does as the right thing and can own up to his mistakes when he makes them. He cares deeply about other people and goes out of his way to do right by them. His time with the Foundation made him draw a line in the sand, separating humans from the plethora of predatory supernatural creatures that he has seen. In his mind, the former absolutely must be protected from the latter.

DeShawn has a single magazine of ammunition for his sidearm that is different from the rest. Besides being painted red, it has a long spike on the bottom so that the user absolutely knows what they are doing when they load it into the weapon. This magazine has eight specially designed .45 millimeter rounds that will kill absolutely anything regardless of species or normal immunities. After the eight are used, he has no more of this ammunition.

DeShawn’s brain and the brains of the men under his command have been chipped with a special arcane rune that makes him immune to mind reading or manipulation.

Weakness

Born in Los Angeles, DeShawn's childhood was fairly uneventful. He grew up seeing the way that he was treated due to his race and bucked against it by pushing himself to be better than his peers. He joined the Marines out of high school, using it as a springboard to get his degree in computer engineering. The structure of the military lifestyle helped DeShawn thrive.

During a routine tour overseas, he saw something though that changed his perspective. Something bizarre and supernatural, and the cover up that followed left him absolutely certain that he was not crazy. When he was approached by the Foundation, he jumped at the chance to join them and do some real good. His work for the Foundation lasted almost a decade before disaster struck. Some extranational organization sieged their bunker and released all of the subjects.

It took far too long to regroup after the incident that took so many of the Foundation subjects. In that time, DeShawn was given a new mission. Find Aren on the island the extranationals had come from, Manta Carlos. Retrieve him and the hard drive that he stole. Clean up any loose ends.

Gets a stipend of money from the Foundation. Lives in a small, utilitarian apartment. Has a small contingent of Foundation soldiers under his command.
