Pacing around like she was thinking hard about something, Violet unconsciously began muttering to herself--she did tis when she was distressed about things. "Why does Joe have to be so....so...." She glared at the ground and folded her arms across herself.

Soon she had worked herself into one of her depression moods. Trying not to let herself cry as the mood gave her a headache, she sighed.

"I thought this area was off limits," Shade said as he saw a girl he didn't know. His hood covered his eyes to protect them from the sun.

Violet started at the sound of someone's voice and spun to look up at the boy. "I-It is...but you're here to, aren't you?" She didn't feel up to talking, but she didn't really feel like ignoring him either.

"You never know in this academy. I could really be an image conjured up by someones imagination," Shade said as he walked over into the shadow of a tree and removed his hood. "But then again maybe I just don't like rules."

Violet shrugged. Yes, that's it. I am imagining him. I'm lonely so I've somehow created him with my mind. Now what he said made perfect sense. Since she thought this, she now believed it.

Being the great liar she was, Violet said, "Headmistress Moor gave me permission to be here right now, anyway. She allows me to do things when I'm depressed." And now that'd she'd said this, her mind believed it too.

Violet glared. "That is none of your business." She spoke stiffly, going to lean up against a tree.

"Then don't tell me," Shade said as he sat down on the grass. Not flinching from her glare as his glowing eyes watched her.

"I hadn't planned on it." She stared back. Looking him over she noted his long black hair and cloak. "Why're you standing in the shade? It's a perfectly nice day out." But it wasn't. It was actually cloudy and quite gloomy.
