Vos

He'd blink in surprise as he looked down at the large horse from the tree branch. The shadow demon had been moving through the forest when he'd stumbled onto this large creature. Vos watched it curiously, slowly moving out of darkness to where he could be seen.

A lot of curious thoughts ran through his mind, thoughts on the beauty of the creature was the main one. Strange looking beings lime himself were the most common among the shadow demons. So he'd watch silently, completely unaware the horse was sapient.

Paying for the rather expensive payment for the house Fehralyn currently lived in had been worth it. She had not liked the idea of paying monthly to someone else to live in a house that wasn't hers, Fehr had been separated from reality and owned nothing for too long. So actually owning her house felt good, it was something concrete, something to all hers that she could set down roots on. And it was right by a forest, and Fehr could wake up to the chatter of the birds and flow of life energy outside her window every morning. It was nice, and the woods were a wonderful place for running.

Fehr galloped through the woods, the wind in her mane, tail and feathers, and the earth was steady and sure under her hooves. Fehr could see all around herself, she could see the life energy flow in all the living creatures hiding in the bushes and trees, nothing was hidden from her.
The pregnancy was lot less apparent in this form, as her middle section was in itself already round and had a lot of space for the child she was growing. That also made runnjng easier, although Gehr made sure not to gallop too roughly and she took many breaks. Even now she stopped to take one, and Fehr leaned down to eat some hay that had not yet died due to the ever colder weather.
Fehr's ears flinched, when she saw something at the corner of her eye, or someone. Fehr lifted her head, but didn't look towards the person. They were hidden, probably via magic, but they couldn't hide the apparent veil of energy that surrounded them, proof that they were alive.

But soon they moved out of the shadow and became visible, and that was when Fehr turned to look at them. They looked humanoid, but had blue skin and otherwise unusual features. Not that those were unusual on the island, and even Fehr was a horse.
Fehr used her powers to tap into this person's life energy, taking a small peek into his powers. So he was a shadow demon? And by chance Fehr caught a snippet on his thoughts on her, on her beauty and assumption that she was not sapient. Fehr huffed and sent a thought in the person's head.
"I assure you I am very much sapient. These are the proof."
Fehr lifted one of her front legs, it had a shifter bracelet on it.
"Let me advise you, all animals with these are shifters and not be hunted or otherwise harmed."

Vos

Vos would again blink in surprise, this time when the thoughts entered his mind, he hadn't been expecting that. "I....huh....well hello there," he hadn't spoken to many people since his arrival he'd mostly kept to himself, "so shifter then."

He'd settle on his branch, sitting on it and letting his legs hang over, "well, apologies if I started you, I'd let my curiosity get the better of me...this island is strange and full of curious things." He'd adjust the cloth that covered the lower half of his face.

The shadow demon hummed in thought, looking the shifter over a moment. "I am Vos," he'd long gathered that it was safe enough to give his name.

This boy? Startle Fehr? She almost wanted to scoff at that thought, but didn't. That would've been rude. But Fehr didn't know who this person was, so just in case she stayed in her more powerful form as the two observed each other.
"You didn't startle me, I saw you."
And Fehr meant she had seen him from the very beginning.
"I do believe I am among the less strange and curious things on this island, I presume you have not been here for long."
Well, neither had Fehr. But she had been on the island long enough that it was much stranger than it seemed on the surface, and even that surface was peculiar.

If the boy felt safe enough to share his name then Fehralyn deemed it was safe enough for her as well.
"I am Fehralyn."
She introduced herself, and nodded with her horse head slightly.

Vos

"Ah yes, I am rather new," he'd nod in return, "the woods have become my home, it's quite nice, if a bit chilly at night." It was far better than the shadow wastes he'd been exiled to in his home hell, less number of monsters trying to devours your body and soul.

"Fehralyn," he'd repeat the name, it was certainly more pleasant sounding than most demon names, pleasant and exotic. "It is good to meet you," he'd say, giving a short bow, his social skills had become lacking since he started wandering, he was hoping to improve that.

"Startled or not....I believe I was being rude?" he'd tilt his head, the unicorn was odd to him, in his home hell their beauty would make them high class like the archdemons, but their animal like form would make him low class like himself.

This young man didn't seem like a threat to Fehr anymore, and she felt comfortable enough to shift back into her human form. Vos would see the winged unicorn change size and shape right before his eyes, becoming a beautiful silver haired woman with a slight baby bump, wearing a comfy, thick coat appropriate for the weather.

Fehr frowned slightly, when Vos said he lived in the woods, apparently not in a normal residence if it got chilly at night. Was he homeless? That was concerning, although Fehr was quite sure the island wasn't perfect and there must've been homeless people here as well. Still...
"If it's chilly to you now I believe you will find the mid-winter quite uncomfortable. I recommend you find proper shelter to live in before that, the city should be able to help with that."
Yes, it was none of Fehr's business, but she couldn't help meddling when a young person such as Vos didn't have a home.

"In normal circumstances I believe it could be considered rude, but I understand the need for discression."
Fehr answered, if Vos was perhaps hiding out or had other complicated situation such as that he needed to be careful.

Vos

He'd tilt his head as she told him that it got colder as winter progressed. "Perhaps, I have heard that the city offers many things," he'd watched the city from a distance and talked to a few people about things. "I may go in to explore some options," the city seemed strange an alien to him, but he'd explored other realms enough to not truly be bothered by it.

"Perhaps, either way, I apologize," he'd give a small bow, he wasn't truly hiding, but he wasn't sure who he could trust just yet. "These woods have held a good number of surprises, you've been a pleasant one," she seemed kind enough and was nice looking.

"Do you come here often?" he'd ask curiously, he wasn't sure if her other form caused to her more animal like instincts that required time in the woods.

It was good Vos said he would go explore the city, but Fehr was uncertain whether he'd find his way around or not. From what Fehr was able to tell from his words Vos wasn't familiar with city environment, and even Fehr had required assistance when she first arrived on the island. Fehr would've offered to help Vos, but she wasn't sure if that was wise.
"I hope you do, unless you have abilities that make you immune against freezing to death."

Most of her life Fehr had not been a pleasant surprise for anyone, so being called one was strange.
"Then I'm glad I have made your time on this island at least slightly more pleasant."
Fehr answered and nodded, although when Vos bowed Fehr felt the instinctive need to salute. She didn't, but her hand twitched and Fehr put them both in her pockets.

"I come running here in my true form several times a week."
While I still can
Fehr added in her mind, because who knew how much this pregnancy would restrict her exercise. She didn't even want to think about the last weeks. Fehr would go crazy from not being able to move her body properly.
