Demonic Student Union (DSU) Plotting

The Demonic Student Union (DSU) club for students with demonic heritage and their friends and allies. The club provides a safe place to discuss demonic issues such as stereotypes, bullying (both of demons and by demons), coping with unnatural urges, and navigating the unusual expectations or rules imposed by demonic parents or hellish contracts. They hold occasional events and campaigns to portray demons in a more positive light, to allow students to network with demonic alumni or friends of the academy, and to educate the public about demonic diversity. After all, there is more than one "hell" in the multiverse represented on this island, and the term "demon" itself is a bit of an oversimplification.

It's an open secret that the DSU has support groups and well-hidden online chat rooms for students with unnatural urges or needs. These are invite-only, and the locations of real-world meetings are kept secret for the safety and privacy of the students involved. School counselors have sometimes referred students with those sorts of needs / urges to the DSU for an invitation, even if those students aren't themselves demons.

Chloe Black is the founding member of the club and it's current leader. Her title is "Empress" because she says "President" is a loaded word for her kind.

So after the Corn Maze event, Chloe and her dad Gabriel Baltimore (Mikhainon's avatar on the island) are getting a lot of heat from the public specifically, and demonkind is getting a lot of heat in general. This is because Jenkins, the man who owned the Corn Maze, was performing a demonic ritual to gain immortailty, and committed a lot of human sacrifice to make this happen. He was communing with some kind of Goetic demon, which is the kind of demon Chloe and Mikhainon are. Also, Chloe was in the corn maze, and stabbed Jenkins to death.

Some conspiracy theorists are claiming that Gabriel and Chloe were somehow in cahoots with Jenkins and are to blame for a lot of the death. They think Chloe killed Jenkins as a coverup measure, or something.

The main anti-demon group, CAE ("Citizens Against Evil"), have a number of demands. They want demonic immigration to the island either stopped or severely limited. They want any convicted demonic criminals to be immediately deported or exiled from the island, including Gabriel and Chloe, who they believe are guilty of wrongdoing. Finally, they want demon-summoning banned outright.

CAE has been getting a lot of momentum and new members. They're holding rallies and protests near city hall and near Gabriel Baltimore's business

After getting out of the hospital (I retconned the healing on the ICC because I thought sending Chloe to the hospital would be fun and dramatic) Chloe's going to start mobilizing some serious counter-protests and other peaceful demonstrations from the DSU.

Aside from the standard sorts of demonstrations and counter protests (waving signs around and chanting stuff) does anyone have any neat ideas for what the DSU could do?

Chloe's plans will probably involve some "love thy enemy" kinds of strategies, like handing out water to opposing protesters and helping them pick up after their demonstrations, while cameras are rolling. She will constantly insist on protests being peaceful in action and rhetoric, so that the DSU (and any students or citizens who want to help out!) maintains a moral high ground.

So, any ideas? thoughts? concerns? I'm thinking of getting an IC thread up for this at some point.

Further, you bring up a good point - anyone can get involved, from any side of the issue. It would be nice to have some people playing police, with how they'll probably be needed to watch the competing protests to make sure nothing goes violent.
