Hey SA! This December is going to be a beta test for a slightly different system of events. We're going to have a larger number of organized events, run (and created) primarily by the rangers.
Starting us off, we have an Ornament Making Workshop taking place on the forums in preparation for the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
As always, we have the Winter Festival, as follows:

As part of the Winter Festival, we'll be hosting an Ice Skating Event, as follows:Celebrated on various days throughout December, these holidays cover a massive variety of potential celebrations. While many other holidays have had one or two specific celebrations stand out, the sheer variety of observances during the second half of December has made it impossible. Bodhi Day, Christmas Eve, Pancha Ganapati, Saturnalia, Hannukkah, Yule, and dozens of other festivals are celebrated on the island throughout December.
Finally, the Tree Lighting Ceremony itself will be taking place in the ICC on Saturday the 21st.Ice Skating Event: It's time to get your characters' skate son because there will also be an ICC Ice Skating event taking place. This event will start on Saturday the 14th, with times to be announced closer to the date.
This year there will be an in-character raffle with the Grand Prize being a very special Christmas tree the citizens of Manta Carlos can win. There will be a signup thread posted the week before the tree lighting for players to enter their characters in. The Winners will be announced during the event itself.Tree Lighting Ceremony: The centerpiece of the Winter Festival, the Tree Lighting Ceremony is held on the third weekend of December. It consists of a massive tree set up in the center of Oceania Park where people can come to place ornaments, socialize, and generally just partake in community. At the end of the Ceremony, as night falls the tree is illuminated with thousands of lights, signifying the cohesiveness and collective beauty of so many individuals coming together.
