Private Deals are complicated buisness

“A predator? That’s cute coming from a demon, the original dealmakers. And I promise you I’m not trying to be scary, because you would be scared if I was. I’m just merely trying to give good advice. Have you thought about those who need souls to live? Those who’s lives literally depend on these deals? Would you just consign them to death because you deem it predatory?” Simmley laughed a little and leaned onto his cane

Simmley laughed at her surprisingly simple answer. “My my so cold. I guess that does make sense though...based on your demonic heritage. You claim you don’t take souls but your more than willing to have lives lost just because they don’t agree with you.”

Simmley shook his head “Everyone does this for different reasons dear. Some do it out of necessity. Some do it just for the fun of it. Me...well that is a personal matter that you have no right being involved in. I think it’s rather fair honestly, people aren’t as dumb as you make them seem. They know what they are getting into, they know what their soul is worth. Unlike others though I’m actually fair, I give people exactly what they want with no strings attached. I’m running a legitamate buisness girl, and you can’t stop that.”

Simmley shook his head. “Well perhaps you should stop trying to make me the bad guy dear as I am simply making a living.” Simmley’s smile didn’t leave his face even once, but that was mostly just because he was unable to remove it.

“Why of course! I am always upfront about what I do with souls. You see they stay in this little lantern I carry on my person at all times where inside they are free to do whatever they desire. I may occasionally call on them for assistance but it is more the remnant of their body rather than their soul.” Simmley wasn’t tell the complete truth about what happened to the souls he collected but he saw no harm in just saying the half truth.

Simmley shook his head a little, just not knowing what else he could possibly say to the girl. She could never understand why he was doing all of these things. “There is nothing wrong with me. And they are not enslaved they all willingly agreed to this. I wouldn’t take someone’s soul if they did not give me permission to do so.” Simmley believed he truly was doing nothing wrong, after all if they agreed to it what was the issue?

Simmley’s smile grew in relief as the child appears as if she was finally leaving. He didn’t know how much longer he could have entertained them for. He basically ignored what she said about stopping him from getting more souls as he didn’t see how a kid could possibly stop his buisness from running. “What ever you say dear. Memento Mori.” Simmley picked up his cane and strolled the opposite way Mal was going, just wanting to get back to his buisness.
