Kali stared hesitantly at Rey's outstretched hand for a second before she finally took it in hers and stood up from the couch. It was hard for the werewolf not to ask questions and to give control over to others, but she trusted Rey, and so she held her tongue and decided to just follow his lead.

"Lead the way my silver-tongued Casanova," Kali insisted with a smile. "I'm yours to command for the next few hours," she said as she looked at Rey, curious about what the spirit had up his sleeve.

Rey chuckled softly as he held her hand firmly in his own exceptionally soft hands. "Be careful, I could run amok with such unchecked power at my fingertips. Or should I say 'with my silvered tongue'?"

Without waiting for an immediate reply Rey transported the two of them to one of his special pocket dimensions. A warmth washing over them not unlike slowly submerging into a nice warm bath as the soft glow of a source-less red light illuminated... well it was more or less an empty space.

Moreover, they were no longer standing on the floor. Instead they were floating, weightless and unburdened. "Kali, my dear. You will relax now. There is not an ounce of work to be done here and no customers or police or really anyone at all that can come here without my bringing them." He spoke only in delicate whispers at her ear, almost as if loud voices were forbidden in this place of peace.

He still held her hand and slowly drew it towards his own chest, to place her palm there and hold it against him. "I want you to breathe as I do. Long, deep breaths." Of course he had no true need to breath, himself, but doing so did tend to keep things a bit more pleasant for most of his acquaintances, bosses and clients.

Before Kali could properly reply to Rey's jest she was whisked off to a place she was unfamiliar with.

Stunned into silence, the werewolf looked at Rey first, her grip on his hand had tightened considerably as a sense of weightlessness overcame her. She was baffled and somewhat discomfited by what had just happened. Losing ... or letting others have control was not easy for her and she actually felt a moment of panic after they had made the jump.

However, as Rey whispered to her, her canine senses began to hone in on the fact that there were no sounds or other presences in the room, or anywhere around them really, she began to feel the panic quickly fade away altogether.

"Rey... I, whe-," Kali began, unsure, but was immediately shushed by Rey who had ordered her to take deep breaths.

After a few minutes of following Rey's instructions, Kali felt some of the tension leave her body and her hand, which was still against his chest began to relax, the digits resting there calmly.

She'd said she wanted to give up control. And Rey was more than happy to oblige her minor fantasy of letting someone else lead for a bit. It certainly wasn't a desire he was unfamiliar with either, many high powered people desired a chance to just relax and follow along for a bit from time to time.

It also was personally amusing to shush her. But that was neither here nor there.

There really was nothing else around them aside from the softly glowing light and warmth of the air. Not even a visible exit actually.

Keeping his voice quiet her leaned back in to check on Kali, maintaining his soft but ever-present contact with her so she didn't drift off. "There we go. Very good. This place has no name but it is one of my personal favorites. I'm glad to finally share it with you."

Feeling herself drifting a little, Kali's eyes fluttered open when she heard Rey's soothing voice again.

"This is ... what?" Kali asked, her voice low now as she looked around the space again, her icy blue gaze, now curious, meeting Rey's once again.

"Somewhere you come to relax?" she added as she searched her assistant's face with an open inquisitiveness on her face, much like that of a fox or wolf trying to figure out something new or unknown.

Rey smiled softly in the dim light. "Sometimes. Sometimes I bring others here to help them relax- part of my job, after all." He winks and reclines in the weightlessness.

"Admittedly it did take some time to adjust things perfectly the first time I created this place. But im a quick study of some things. And comfort is one that I'm quite big on. I can come here or bring anyone here as much as I'd like. Just like my other useful little pockets."

Kali watched as Rey reclined his body backward. It was like he was floating in a pool of invisible water.

"I am really surprised by all of this," the madame admitted, quietly impressed by what Rey had created, as she tentatively tried to move around in the weightlessness and found that it was very much like swimming.

"I'd have never thought about using pocket dimensions as places to entertain clients. It certainly would have cut back on expenses," she quipped, a wry grin on her face, as she slowly moved herself around the space inspecting it with a quiet but very natural canine curiosity.

"Are you happy, Rey?" Kali suddenly asked as she turned slightly to look at her assistant. The very honest and candid question surprising her as much as probably Rey the moment it left her lips.

Rey had no problem letting her explore the space. There was no danger she could get into. Thst was kind of the point, after all.

"You make jokes but you are more than welcome to the use of my little pockets. The downside being I have to transport anyone to or from, of course."

And of course the unexpected question did in fact catch him off guard. Enough that it took a moment before he replied. "Why would I not be happy?" He allowed the surprise in his face to dissipate, lowering his eyebrows and smiling slightly.

"Is there something troubling you about me, Kali?"

"No, of course not," Kali said, shaking her head at Rey's question. She was not troubled at all by her assistant. In fact, she was extremely satisfied with him and the way that he handled clients.

"I was just ... I dunno," Kali stammered, visibly perplexed now and still not sure why such a strange question had fallen from her lips. "I guess I've always sort of wondered how others felt about having to come live on the island," she explained.

"Manta Carlos must seem so ... primitive at times, no?" she stated questioningly as unbidden images of the Siberian wilderness came to mind, making her realize with a start that she was uncharacteristically homesick, right now.

Rey laughed warmly and drifted back over to place a hand lightly on her shoulder. "Phrasing it that way tends to assume that primitive is bad. But my dear Kali, my entire career can be reduced down to the single most primitive desire of any sapient being. Comfort. Mine, others, yours."

He smiled and waved his hand at the empty room. "This could be recreated in a virtual setting or with advanced technologies but does thst mean me doing it my way is not as good? My home is in whomever arms wish me to be in them, as long as my own comfortable living is provided for. Spaceships and galactic politics or quaint bordellos and local black markets- they're both charming in their own ways."

But he could usually read people well. She'd made a point of mentioning people 'having' to come there rather than choosing to. And unhappy people did often tend to project or expect unhappiness in others. "Are you quite sure nothing is weighing on your mind? I promise that nothing you say need ever leave this little pocket."
