Shirigana didn't have much of an eye for shopping, but he stared wide-eyed at the lavishly jeweled rings. His jaw dropped each and every time they named a price. The most expensive of them all was a ring made of smooth diamond with a clover pattern made from other gems. The price: "Three-hundred million?!" Shirigana was reeling.

Fluffy was also shocked. The most expensive thing she had ever owned was a fifteen dollar pair of shoes. "Wow."

Surprisingly enough, the rings were soon sold out. Shirigana boggled at the TV. "Sold out?! Already? Nobody has THAT kind of money!" He had no idea...

" Then they lie." Fluffy changed back into a human so she could talk more. After moving a bit away from her friend to give her breathing space, she spoke. "They don't have enough people buying the rings and so to keep unneeded embarrassment on their part, they pretend to sell out." Of course, she was only guessing.

Shirigana grinned at Fluffy. "You sure are smart." He said, under the assumption that she knew what she was talking about. In his mind, Fluffy was the most intelligent person he knew.

Fluffy had never gone to any form of school, only learned what she knew on the streets. She smiled at him slightly before going back to the TV. She reached over yet again and changed the channel.

"In a local alley a corpse was discovered. It's impossible to identify the remains, but an axe was left at the scene of the crime. More information as it develops." The reporter said, trying not to show their disgust at the mangled body. Shirigana shivered. "I hope they find the killer." He said nervously.

At the news of an ax, Fluffy frowned and jumped up off the couch. She hurried to her room and shut the door behind her. So that was why she had had blood on her.

"They won't catch the killer." Shirigana looked around. Fluffy had gone upstairs, so it wasn't her speaking. Besides, this voice seemed far different. "Who's there?" Shirigana asked, more curious than afraid. "No one. I'm not quite here. I'm your guardian. I'm always with you." Shirigana suspected that it was some sort of inner figure who granted him blessings.

Fluffy sat in the floor, leaning her back against the door. She frowned and wondered if she should go to the police and say she had seen the person with the ax. But then she remembered that Shirigana--or rather, his alter ego or whoever he was--had also been there, and would be a suspect since he had witessed, if not done the crime. Fluffy, being raised on the streets, wouldn't care if it had been her. But Shirigana was her friend and way too nice for her to even dream of turning him in. Even if 'he' hadn't actually done anything.
