Shirigana grinned wider. It hadn't occured to him that the cat's reactions were out of the ordinary. "What a smart kitty." He said, praising the cat. He hadn't guessed its gender yet, and didn't think of doing so.
Shirigana did not follow the cat as it walked away to rest on a fallen tree. He knew from experience that trying to catch a cat, no matter your intentions, usually resulted in the cat running off to get some space. Instead, he decided to follow Fluffy's example, and promptly rested in the grass to gaze up at the clouds going by.
Fluffy soon jumped off the tree and went back over to him. She sat down next to him and craned her neck, her yellow eyes staring at his profile. "What's your name?" She asked.
For the moment finding nothing strange about a talking cat, he answered. "I'm Shirigana Light. I came here about a week ago and..." NOW it was strange. "You can talk?!" He asked, excited at the prospect of a talking cat.
Shirigana scratched his head. "Guess I was hearin' things. My imagination's never been as powerful as this... Even if you can't talk, you're still a samrt cat." He reached down once again to stroke Fluffy.
Shirigana chuckled. "Being around you seems to mess with the way my mind works. I keep hearing you speak." He scratched behind its ears again. "But I think we both know that cats can't talk."
Fluffy loved the feeling of him scratching her ears. It soothed her. She grinned at him and said, "But I can." She hoped her speaking wouldn't make him stop petting her.
