That was... Some sort of logic alright. Tybalt was giving him that exasperated, blank stare as if he was listening a kid explain their logic behind baking cookies on the sun for just a couple of seconds instead of in the oven for thirty minutes. That was one way of thinking of it, however roundabout it may have been.

"That's... Um..." He tapered for another moment before just putting another piece of food in his mouth. Did he say that he'd tolerate him? Yes, yes he did. In fact, a few seconds ago he was telling himself that he was kind of into Angelo. Well, he was charming in his own way, like a large and fluffy golden retriever. Yeah.

"No. No no." He shook his head. No singing. Still, he was good natured about it. "I'll show you some of my paintings later. I've got a small studio off to the side, where the spare bedroom was supposed to be once upon a time."

It took everything Angelo had not to make a comment about there only being one bed and wiggling his eyebrows. Not because he was a pervert, but because he knew it'd get Tybalt red in the face. Or at least he hoped it would get him red in the face. He hadn't seen it yet, but he could imagine what Tybalt would look like blushing, and he liked the mental image.

"I'd like to see that." Angelo couldn't tell if Tybalt was self conscious about his singing, or if he was genuinely bad. Could have gone either way.

"That said - I'll bite, because I'm dying to know. Do you date often?" Was he the first date Tybalt had had in the last decade? Or did he date often enough that this whole thing wasn't that unusual to him?

Ah, he should have cleaned up his studio before Angelo came over. He thought it would only be dinner and a goodbye, not dinner and a tour of his humble living space. The studio was quite small, as was everything else. That didn't necessarily mean he needed to be ashamed of it, but it would still do to have it tidier than he usually left it.

As for dating often, he had to think on that one. "Well... Yes, and no?" That was one of the problems with living to an ancient age. He didn't have the same frame of reference as everyone else did. "I've dated enough people that I don't remember them all in the past, but it isn't like I have a new date every few months. I'm just old."

He had to think for another seconds, counting the time. "You're my first date in... I'd say a year? A little less?"

Ahh, so not much of a dater. The only reason he had experience was because he'd lived so long. A fair enough compromise, and it did a bit to settle what little nerves Angelo had about the entire thing. Tybalt was no serial monogamist, but at the same time he was no eternally pure virgin, refusing to even look at a human for companionship. In truth, he'd been worried about the latter - that Tybalt didn't think of humans that way at all.

"I can't tell if that counts as less experience or more than me. More overall, less on average considering how long you've been around." Which was (as best he could tell) 'long'. He didn't want to ask how long long was.

The steak was more or less finished, and he stopped his endless questions to polish it off. He settled back, letting out a contented sigh.

"I'm just saying, if you want to make excuses to cook for me, I'd be down for that. You are a damn good cook." Angelo wasn't one to throw around compliments, so it was pretty obvious that he meant it.

Tybalt remembered, quite fondly, having fallen in love a few times. He rarely did, but he'd freely admit it if he was. But then they died, one way or another. Very few beings were made to last as long as an angel, and of course it hurt when it was their time to go. But it wasn't like he was going to deny his feelings at the moment, even though he backpedaled when it came to lust and the physical things.

He polished off his plate with a little shrug. "That's a bit of a simple way of putting it, but I suppose it's blurry." He'd like to think it was more experience considering how long he'd lived, but at this point he really couldn't count. And what if Angelo happened to be extra promiscuous? Then numbers went out the window, now did they?

"Good. I'm glad you like it." He picked up the plates and dumped them in the sink, making a mental note to clean them up later. "So don't ever say I don't do anything for you. Other than covering your ass while we're on patrol, of course."

"And, you know, keeping me from getting shot while on said patrols." He hadn't forgotten that Tybalt had revealed his secret in order to keep him from taking a bullet. He could have just kept his wings in, and Angelo wouldn't have known any better. It wasn't like he'd have blamed him for it - he literally wouldn't have known.

If nothing else, the date was already a success in that he had a better idea of who Tybalt was. Tybalt was pretty private on the job, but he seemed to have very little issue opening up once he was off duty in a setting like this.

"So.." He trailed off for a minute. Dinner was over. Dinner was over, and.. well, his normal guidelines for 'what a date was' didn't really apply. He'd known Tybalt for months - this was no blind date where mutual friends had hooked them up. Part of him wanted to just as the big scary questions - but it was the first date, and those big scary questions should probably wait until the third or fourth. "How about a movie?" More or less sitting on the couch, chatting and getting more used to one another.

"Yes, and that." He remembered spreading his wings for the first time in a while just to make sure Angelo didn't get a bullet to the knee. A little dramatic, no doubt, but it had been the only thing he could think of with a snap of his fingers. Perhaps there could have been another way to do it, but it was all he had at that particular moment.

"Movie, huh?" He leaned against the counter, clicking through the titles he had in his head. Though a movie was never just a movie, wasn't it? Wasn't Netflix 'n chill a thing now? Some codeword for sex? He wasn't entirely sure, he had to look it up sometime now that he was back in the dating game and all.

"Well, I have a bunch of those noir films, nothing too recent, but... Actually, just take a look for yourself." He went over to the cabinet under his tv and opened it up, revealing a small and neatly stacked row of DVDs.

Movies were kind of a thing. They were standard for dates, even if the point wasn't actually to watch the movie. The movie itself was just a springboard, something to give you talking points. Easier to bring up stuff that was mentioned in the movie then to just ask them at random.

Angelo got up, heading over to the TV and squinting when he realized that he had DVDs. They were a bit... outdated. And his taste in movies? Well, if there was anything more recent than 1970, he would be shocked. As much as he'd just suggested the idea... well, he was coming up blank.

"I'm betting you down have netflix, either." Apparently one thing they didn't share at all was their taste in movies. Absolutely none of the DVD's look appealing.

"No, not at all." Tybalt plopped himself down on the couch and stretched out a bit, looking as comfortable as ever. He felt relatively safe in his own home and he was well aware of how to defend himself in case of any danger. As for Netflix... Yeah, no, definitely not. "I rarely use the tv in the first place, really. Why would I have that?"

"If you insist on seeing something, we can just head to the studio. Just as entertaining, and perhaps a little less mind numbing." He gestured vaguely to the hallway, where there were three doors; a linen closet, a bedroom and then the spare, which he converted into a studio of sorts. It wasn't anything fancy; in fact, it was fairly typical looking.

Alright, scrap the movie. He supposed looking at art was close enough, and while it was a bit personal, he supposed there wasn't any real issue with it. Better than watching the world's oldest surviving DVD. If anything, he supposed he should have been happy that Tybalt wasn't watching his movies on betamax.

"Studio it is then." He said, standing up with a stretch from where he'd squatted to look at the movies. "Assuming you're actually okay with that - I know a lot of artists are pretty... protective of their work." By which he meant lots would never show anyone their art for any reason. Sure, it was a bit of a stereotype, but it was a true one. Making art was revealing bits of your true self to anyone who looked at it.
