Darkness Falls

Aluin, who was incredibly small to begin with, looked even more so with all the layers he was wearing. He looked like he was drowning in his jacket and pants. But being warm was less scary than being cold, so he rather dressed too thick than too thin. Aluin had to almost waddle, so much clothes he was wearing.
Anita looking older was scary, but it was still Anita and Aluin was by her side, holding onto her jacket with a tight grip. He was gently patting the snow on the ground, it was scary but the way it poofed a bit every time Aluin patted it made it bit less so. Soft, poofy things weren't as scary.

Aluin looked over at Alt, nice scary dad, when he asked if he and Anita wanted ice cream. Aluin looked down briefly and shook his head a bit.
"Ice cream is scary, it's cold and sweet."
Aluin carefully waddled over to Alt and took a hold from his pantleg similarly how he had clung to Anita's jacket.
"Bread isn't that scary. Can I have bread?"

Im normal circumstamces hugs made Aluin nervous and they were scary, but when Alt wrapped his arms around him protectively Aluin let it happen. Because he could sense something was wrong. He could sense something scary was about to happen, like a sixth sense. Aluin looked up at Alt and then at Anita, and he closed his eyes tight and buried his face in Alt's jacket.

Alt's and Anita's fear hit Aluin like a sledgehammer to the chest, forcing him to open his eyes, and his own fear was amplified to a point where he wasn't capable of crying anymore. Aluin merely trembled in Alt's arms, looking around him in this foreign place, feeling most fear he had ever felt in his entire short life. Aluin opened his mouth, but all he could let out was a series of quiet noises and whimpers. Aluin squeezed his wrist with the power bracelet, he wanted to shift, something inside Aluin told him to shift right now, if he wanted to live.

Aluin felt safer when wrapped in both Alt's and Anita's arms, and his breathing steadied a bit. But that lasted only for a moment, and then the creature appeared. Aluin froze, as stiff as rock, and stared at the thing that looked like scary, nice dad but wasn't. Aluin knew this feeling, he knew what that thing was. And he had never in his short life felt more afraid than he started feeling now.
"No...no, no! Not you, no! No! Go away!"
This was the first time Alt and Anita heard Aluin raise his voice, and he started fighting against both their holds so he could get away from the thing before them. Hazy memories played inside Aluin's mind, memories of unspeakable terror and darkness and pain, and Aluin's expression was that of extreme fear.
"I don't want to go back! It's scary! NO!!"
Aluin instinctively reached for the bracelet on his wrist, so he could take it off and shift into his eldritch form.
