Forum Name: Darkened Lives
Basic Plot: The year 3074, and the sun is dying. The inhabitants of earth live in special cities, protected from the super rays that it sends out. It has been this way for as long as anyone can remember, and the sun has become a feared object. Sheltered, living in an entirely artificial environment, the Human Race’s development is carefully guided by a group known as Tutela. Every human has an implant, and Tutela can read their very thoughts. They operate from their central base, a city unto itself somewhere in the United States. Even the Government has no idea; they too are under Tutela’s power.
But, in secret, an underground group known as Libertas has formed. They are select group fighting for freedom. Their technical genius, Fremont, turned off their implants, effectively removing them from existence. And underground they learnt of another race on Earth. A race almost exactly like humans, with one major exception. These people have powers.
Descendants of those who refused to live in the cities, these people have mutated as a result of the sun’s rays. Gaining powers, these people live outside the cities. Almost no one knows about them. Some of the Libertas group left the city to find these mutants. Upon discovery, they agreed to help the Libertas cause. Giving themselves the name Justicia, which is Latin for Justice, they entered the city.
But Tutela found out about them, and recruited some for their own purposes. Examining their DNA, Tutela was able to create their own group of mutants. Merciless assassins, taught to follow only the orders of Tutela. The war began. Free mutants against genetic clones, the battle rages unbeknownst to the normal humans as Tutela strike silently in the night. An all-out war could give the people the mental strength to override the implants.
Tutela will do anything to erase the threat of Libertas. Even have them murdered, one by one…
