Xavi had almost had a heart attack when Vexi had texted him. She rarely got so close to exploding that she needed to text Xavi. In those kinds of situation Xavi had often walked into a scene where someone was either trying to attack Vexi or Vexi was about to attack someone else. In that kind of situation Xavi had gotten his scar.
Vexi and Xavi were twins, and had been together the moment they were born. They had only had each other for the longest time. But now, and during these four years at the island, Xavi felt like they were drifting apart a bit. And if he was completely honest he was okay with it. But Xavi was worried about Vexi, and the people she would hurt if Xavi wasn't there to rein her actions in.
Xavi glanced at Vexi when they were walking towards her room. He reckoned she would calm down faster in her own personal space. He hadn't talked to her since the community center, since she seemed to be fuming. At the center her eyes had been glowing dangerously. That was a really bad sign.
Xavi followed Vexi as she opened the door to her room and he slipped in after her. Xavi stayed quiet for a bit longer before he voiced himself.
"So, what happened?"

Vexi was still in the grip of a cold, unrelenting fury, face pointed down and her eyes shining so brightly that they lit up a bit of the floor as they got to her dorm door. She opened it up, the knob slamming into the wall hard, rushed over to her bed and immediately started shredding the mattress with her claws, tearing at her pillow with her razor-fangs and genuinely causing an unrequited amount of destruction to her living space. Thankfully, her roommate wasn't here to complain about the scene.

After a good five minutes of breaking her assorted belongings, she finally got up from the bed and stormed over to Xavi, grabbing him by the scarf and tugging him close, hard. "It was a fucking empath. That wolf-scum was an empath, and if that wasn't bad enough, he openly called me out. The whole room was looking at me, and even though I was doing everythingperfectly as always, I could tell they didn't believe me. Once that motherfucker started getting suspicious, the guy he was with did, too, and he drew me...but he drew me accurately. I wanted to fucking kill them both, I swear. I might still do it."

During the whole episode Xavi just stood there, waiting for Vexi's answer. The destruction didn't faze him, he had seen it many times before. Why had he seen it so many times before? Xavi looked at Vexi, her glowing eyes and the destruction. And he looked straight into he eyes when she came to him and spoke. His expression was calm, but firm, and little worried. Inside, though, many thoughts and emotions were churning. He just didn't let it out like Vexi did.
Someone had to be the stable one.
Xavi grabbed Vexi's hand that was pulling on his scarf. But he didn't push it away. He just kept his hand there and looked at Vexi with steady eyes. Maybe it would calm her down. Maybe.
"You're not killing anyone Vexi. We both know it doesn't always go well. There are empaths, and even mind readers. Heck, there might be just humans who are good at reading others. So, he drew you 'accurately', whatever that means. Big deal. Vexi, they are just people.Very few people. There's a whole island full of others. So calm down."
Xavi's tone was soothing, he was trying to take the edge off of Vexi's anger. Even if he had to become a new target for it. Because when Vexi actually went through with her threats good things didn't ensue. Xavi had the scar to prove it.
