Name: Dante Ricci
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Male
Species: Human (Magic User)
Category: Student
Class: College
Grade: 2nd Year
College Major: Psychology

Appearance Description: Dante is a fairly average looking lad, or in the very least he's not someone who would stand out in a crowd. He's of average height (5'10"), and has a slender build. He finds it difficult to amass heavy muscle growth (something that has always irked him), and as such only weighs in at 153 lbs. He still tries to eat well and work out in the hopes that he will - someday - get a bit beefer. Though the results haven't been in his favor.

His skin is a light olive colour, unmarked aside from a small tattoo of an eagle with it's wings spread open on his left hand. The tattoo itself has faded slightly, though he seems to have little interest in getting it cleaned up. His chocolate coloured hair has always been a bit wavy, and while he keeps it fairly long, he also makes sure to keep it tied back in a pony-tail. There are remnants of what could be budding facial hair on his chin and jaw, however he makes sure to stay well groomed and rarely let's it get past mere stubble. His eyes - like his hair - are also brown, however they are a much darker shade.

Typically most of his clothing is of a casual nature. He has little interest in trying to impress people with the latest and best clothes, though he does try and keep himself at a level that would be considered presentable. Usually you can see him in a pair of blue jeans, and some sort of t-shirt. He doesn't like wearing bright colours, and so usually said t-shirts will be of a dark blue or grey variety.

Personality Description: Dante is an incredibly laid-back and relaxed person. He doesn't let very many things phase him, and usually radiates a air of relaxation. This has made him - in the past - quite a good person to see for breaking up disputes, as he's not someone who would egg things on even further. This overwhelming calm can sometimes make it seem like he doesn't care about other people, or what they're going through. In actuality, Dante is someone who is quite empathetic, and wants to do his best to make sure that everyone is as happy as they possibly can be.

Due to his overpowering urge to make everyone calm, happy, and relaxed, he can sometimes be seen as a bit pushy. He has difficulty in seeing things from an objective angle, and will oftentimes try and force his opinions onto other people. (Particularly those who may be prone to overworking.) He has a tendency to believe that his way of living is the only one that can truly chill someone out, and doesn't do well when people try and tell him otherwise. It's in examples such as this in which the chilled and relaxed persona of Dante might finally snap, and he can become confused and/or stressed out.

Overall, he has a fairly extroverted personality, as he enjoys meeting new people (especially people who may be of other species). Sometimes he can behave a bit sarcastically, though he usually doesn't mean anything negative by these remarks. Usually (aside from the aforementioned pushy behaviour), if he angers someone it's generally because something caused a miscommunication. The issue here is that sometimes he won't try and make amends, or in the very least believe that whatever happened wasn't "a big deal". Some would see this has him just trying to avoid responsibility, though Dante would say otherwise.

Powers: Dante has the power to alter a person's thoughts or emotions. The difficulty and way that he goes about preforming such magic can vary depending on the person, though he has overall limitations and things that he must do to achieve this.

When it comes to altering someone's thoughts, Dante is capable to change what someone might be seeing, something similar to illusion magic. He could, for example, make someone think that they were awake and going about their day, while that person - in actuality - is still lying in bed. How much he can change depends on the scenario, if emotions are high, then he's unlikely to be able to change all that much. (ie. If someone saw someone else get hurt, he wouldn't be able to change the person's mind from knowing that person got hurt - but how they got hurt would be open to alteration.) He also needs fairly express consent to be able to alter someone's mind. To him, the mind is something like a locked door, with the lock being on the inside. If he's allowed in he can change things, but should a person refuse to open up, then he's unable to do much.

Altering a person's emotions is slightly different. It still is akin to a locked door, but Dante can alter emotions without consent. Namely, he can only alter someone's emotions to the extent that they feel emotions towards him. If he's just meeting someone for the first time, then he probably won't be able to alter much (if anything), however as he gets to know someone the door inches open slightly and slightly more. Theoretically he could vastly alter a person's emotions - though in this scenario, the person would need to have fairly intense feelings towards Dante. (Namely those of hate, love, or fear.) On a day to day basis, he might be able to make his friends feel a bit happier, or maybe make someone who was giving him a bit of trouble feel a bit sad. Though it's nothing to write home about, at least not at this stage.

It should also be noted that Dante is unable to use these powers on himself. He has tried, but to no success.

Biography: Dante has always been somewhat of an odd-ball, even within his own family. His parents were Italian immigrants who moved to England after the birth of their first child (Dante's older sister - Sofia), and Dante himself was born and raised in South London. As a child he was always somewhat of a shame for his family. His parents, and his older sister were all very hard-working and determined people, while Dante was someone who preferred to just cost along life and see where things took him. He wasn't a troublemaker per-say, though he was the definition of the: "could do great things if he tried harder" kid at school. He was never a popular kid, but he also had quite a few friends.

When Dante was seven his little brother Armani was born. From day one Dante felt a stronger connection with his little brother, and wanted to make sure that he had the best quality of life possible. Dante would often take in upon himself to babysit his little brother, and when Armani first started going to school Dante made sure to give him a fairly in-depth view of what to do (and not to do) to be "cool". He had high hopes for his little brother, or at least higher hopes than he did for himself. Though these hopes would soon be crushed.

When Armani was eight (and Dante fifteen), he began to get very sick. Eventually Armani was diagnosed with leukaemia, something which no one was expecting. Dante watched his little brother be exposed to multiple kinds of treatment in the hopes of saving his life. Eventually Armani was forced to undergo chemotherapy every couple of weeks. The affects were fairly devastating, and Dante wanted to do everything that he could to help. This, of all times, is when his powers were established. At first he had no idea what was even going on, all he knew was when he was around Armani, his desperate need to make the sickly boy better seemed to - in the very least - brighten his mood through the pain. It wasn't until one particularly bad night, while Dante speaking to Armani and the boy asked Dante if he could try and help him forget the pain that Dante realized that he in fact could - at least to some extent. These powers, while a breakthrough, seemed like not enough for Dante. He kept quiet about them (aside from Armani), but wished that he could do more.

Because he was never able to do enough.

When Dante was seventeen Armani passed away, Dante was both furious and depressed. He shouted to a god that he doubted the existence of, that if he was to be given powers why they weren't enough to save his brother. This was one of the roughest and most stressful times of his life, a dark place that he has always tried desperately to forget. It took some time, but eventually Dante started to come around again. Even though he knew that his powers hadn't been enough to save his brother, he felt some peace knowing that they helped Armani. As such, the teen decided that he would start volunteering at his local children's hospital, in an attempt to try and make other kids feel better, especially if they were going through anything remotely like Armani had. Eventually the fact that sickly kids were feeling happier each time that Dante came to visit raised some eyebrows, and eventually people started to ask Dante how he managed it. His response was a simple, sarcastic (yet truthful), "magic". By the time he was nineteen and attending college word of his powers must have spread, and he received his letter to Starlight Academy. He was apprehensive at first, especially because he would have to leave behind his parents backs, but curiosity overwhelmed him, and he decided to make his way to the Manta Carlos Islands.

Since arriving he has continued his studies in psychology, and has done his best to try and fit in.
