Dani was ilent. She had hit a sore nerve, hadn't she? She swallowed and look in the opposite direction of Shade. She wanted to give him privacy if he was going to tear up, but then again, she was making a fool of herself, wasn't she? Dani could decide. Fool? Or Caring?
After a few seconds of silence Shade looked down, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be sharing my burdens." He looked off into the forest. "How long have you been here?" He asked trying to change the subject.
Dani turned to face him. "Ehgh, don't worry about it. It happens to us all. How long? Ehhh.... About a week or two? Not very long at all. My dorm is probably the highest one. Three spiral staircaes, and a ladder. It's kinda dusty on my side, but what about you?" Dani said looking over at him.
Dani shrugged. "If you know where to go, You only see a few people. I.e. The library. Or even the third floor. But, I don't like going up there. It's just to quiet. And, I sometimes go get coffee froim the cafeteria in the mornings. It usually not crowdded then."
Dani's eyes saddened. "Much. Y'see, I came here because I did not want my parents to look bad because they had a child... A child with ''problems'' as the public called it. I ran away. I miss them alot, though."
"I'm afraid if I go back, they won't let me return. But, if I wanted too, I could return." Dani nodded absently and looked up, tracing an image with the stars in her mind.
