A tall, slim figure entered onto the dark roof. The strange shape on it's back bounced as the figure shut the door to the insidse world. The figure wallked quietly over to the edge of the roof, where it sat down. It took the object from it's back and strummed it, identifying it as a guitar. The moon slid from behind a cloud, revealing it as a young woman who was silently tuning her instrument.
Maybe this coming out onto the roof at night idea wasn't so bad after all. It's quite, and there is no one around to watch or laugh or cheer. I like it.
Dani had taken the spiralling stairs up to the roof because she wanted to be alone. She didn't like all those peopletelling her she was good and then getting into arguments with people who though she didn't. Dani was in the lounge. Thats where it all started. Everyone was listening with content, until one boy asked her to stop. some of the people said she could keep going if she wanted. Others spoke up and told her to stop.
Dani had ended up slipping out and running. She was afraid of some of the people around here, being all mean and cold like they were. By the time she had made it to the roof, it had all stopped, but she heard that someone had to be taken to the hospital wing. Dani felt bad. She knew she shouldn't have played there, she just knew it! Around all those people, she had wondered why she had not been scared like she usually is. She almost flicked on her power by accident.
She strummed a couple of notes and tightened and loosened the strings a bit before she plucked a few notes.
"She's a lover, baby and a fighter. Shoulda seen it comin' when it got a little brighter. With a name like Dani California, Day was gonna come when I was gonna warn ya." Sighing, Dani felt at peace with herself. She always did when she sang her song.
