Dangling from a Cliff

"Yes Yes, there's no changing what happened in the past, it would be pointless to try."

She smiled lightly, "Mmm, if one were to try changing the past they'd lose their mind. It's impossible for one to do it unless they can time travel." She said thoughtfully, "Though it'd be unwise for them to mess with the past. Everything doesn't come free of cost."

"You hide your appearance well, I complement you on that. I still have yet to find any gender revealing attributes on you, however that in a way makes me think you are a woman. I suppose it truly doesn't matter though, you are a person none-the-less and I won't think any different of you no matter what the gender."

She shook her head, "You don't get it." She removed the bandanna from her head, her white locks of hair fell lose from the bandanna and her eyes were revealed completely. She really didn't look like a swordsman now, she looked like a weak defenseless girl. "Do you really think someone would be able to fight full force against someone who looks like this?" She looked quite beautiful, though it wasn't something she was proud of. In a fight beauty wouldn't save her captain. Though he was proud to have such a beautiful girl part of his crew and such a good swordsman as well. But with her hair down and her eyes visible she looked so much different.

"I have the art of shadows manipulation and transportation. Not only can I manipulate my shadows, but I can cause matter to traverse through it. Unfortunately it's only matter that I'm actually touching, otherwise I'd be invincible."

She watched him slowly putting her bandanna back on in the right position to hide her hair and eyes. "You're lucky to be a guy, you don't have to worry about people taking it easy on you." She sighed when the bandanna was back in place, she didn't like how soft her eyes looked or how her hair was so radiant and shiny, whenever people saw her without her bandanna they always seemed to soften and become someone she couldn't fight.

Albel takes in her beautiful appearance quietly before just shrugging. He shakes his head and sighs in exasperation before turning back to look at her, "Yes..I could fight full force against someone that looked like you, however that's only if you truly pushed me to have to fight full force. I'd fight you with what I thought was enough strength to defeat you, but if I was pushed to my full abilities, I would not hold back, regardless of gender or looks. The way I see things is like this, if a person, no matter what race or gender, attacks me with the intent to harm or kill I will respond in turn with the same intent."

Albel takes a step forward and looks at her to responds to her second statement. "Look at me, I look like a fallen angel raised straight out of hell by the devil himself. Most people are so intimidated by me they never want to fight me to begin with. Not to mention they get so scared when I use my power they run off anyways..it's disgusting really. So truly I am in a similar predicament as yourself, I don't have anyone I can truly fight full force against."

She sighed, she herself never really randomly went about trying to kill people. She usually used what needed to be used to defeat them and be able to carry on in pride. She was tempted to ask him to duel her to prove him wrong, though her muscles ached from dangling from the cliff side. She wondered how hard it would be to fight him, sure she had little to none in amazing super human skills, but she wasn't a weakling. She highly doubted he'd push himself to his full force against her. Whether it was because she didn't have much of a non-physical power, or because she was a girl.

"Intimidated, ha. At least people don't start to woo you or something, how annoying is it to be in the middle of a fight and suddenly they realize you're a girl and then they are all googly eyed and take it easy on you." She crossed her arms annoyed, "It's annoying to constantly have to hide my face from people because if I don't they treat me like I'm a delicate flower that needs to be treated like glass." She sighed, "It's better to be treated like a monster than something easily broken. I'd love to fight with you sometime at full force, though at the moment my muscles need a brake. Though I could take you on, though I wouldn't be at full force." She said thoughtfully wondering what his full force was like, she didn't like defeat so she wanted to try to place his ability in her mind and put it on a scale of 1-10. Though she didn't know what extent he could preform his ability, she didn't want to underestimate him.

Albel looks at her quietly and a small frown appears across his face. He walks back towards the edge of the cliff and looks over, staring down into the water below and watching the waves crash violently against the rocks. All the while the shadows on his body danced back and forth in a jet black cloak of protection. He holds up one of the attached blades in his hand and looks down at it solemnly. The world is such an interesting place. This girl seems to be lost within it just like I am, and also seems to have the same kind of dark outlook I do. It's truly wondrous.. He then points his head up into the sky above and turns around to face her.

"It's truly up to you whether or not you will fight me. However I can come out and tell you I will not push myself against you. Not because you are a girl, however because you lack the energy to withstand me at very much power.."

She sighed, "I guess it'll have to wait then." She said kind of disappointed, she really enjoyed fighting. She looked up at the sky, her eyes studied it, she wished she could go back to sea with her captain. But ever since his death she had decided to follow her dream differently while waiting for him to come back even though he was dead. She never could get herself to get over the past, to lose someone close to her always made her think more. She got more and more complicated each time it happened, she hid her appearance as a female after captain had died. She wanted to be stronger since then, she wanted to appear, act and be stronger so she could protect, defend, and make him proud of her.

She drew one of her katanas, her finger ran along the side of the blade she smiled studying it's blood line. She remembered when she had received her first sword, how she treasured it and how it was the best gift she had ever received. She put her sword back into the saya. "So, people are afraid of you... hmm, I really don't see you as scary. On the Dairina there was a man who looked like a demon who had a love of killing young children or something. But he actually was the best ship doctor ever, a bit of a wimp too." She said with a chuckle remembering when she had met him, it had taken her a while to get used to his appearance. But after that she was perfectly comfortable around strange or scary looking people.

Albel tilts his head at her a little before shrugging and walking over to a large boulder. He jumps up to the top of it and looks down at her from above, taking in her small form from a different angle. She was very slender for a swordsman of her apparent abilities, which meant that she had a strong heart and would be a powerful ally. He could also tell that she had a kind of dark hatred of the world, particularly towards men, and could possibly be a large part of his plans. With a smile he sits down on the rock begins to ponder how to approach getting her to his cause. It really wasn't some kind of evil plot, just his thoughts on how to remove both good and evil from the world and make it a neutral place of peace.

Sighing he responds to her previous statement with a small smile, "Yes, people seem to shy away from me because of my appearance. It's like I side, I looks like I was raised straight out of hell itself to reap vengeance on all of those who I don't like."

She watched him, taking in his appearance again she tried to imagine why a person would be afraid of him. She looked at it from a child's point of view, then an adult's. She chuckled lightly, "You yourself don't look like you were raised from hell, though your crown and five katanas and black outfit makes you look sorta creepy if I was a person who was superstitious and afraid of people with power. But to me you look rather ordinary, though the crown is a bit odd, I'm guessing you must be royal or something. A crown on someone wearing dark clothing and having so many katanas would probably make you appear to be a prince of darkness because you don't dress in more happy attire. But people are like that, sometimes they get scared of me because I hide my face and walk differently than they do and have two katanas." She said with a chuckle, "Though if they saw me without my bandanna I'd never be taken seriously."

She looked up at him, "Someone like you should lighten up a bit, you know life only comes once. Captain probably would've accepted you easily on his crew, he was the type of man who could trust anyone so long as he thought they were good at heart. In the end it wasn't his crew that betrayed him, it was their weakness and his wanting to protect them. But for some reason he didn't seem upset when he did so, just worried about his crew." She looked down, she was getting sentimental again. Maybe this is why she didn't talk much, the only person she ever seemed to be able to talk about was the captain and the crew of the Dairina. She folded her arms over her chest, "The Navy is such a load of garbage, they say they protect people but they really just squash anyone who is kind to people. They are scumbags and should be hanged, burnt at the stake and stomped on their ashes." She said annoyed punching her fist at the ground so hard it made an indent in the earth.

"All pirates aren't bad, some don't even steal from people. Some just fight other pirates and take their treasures instead of stealing from merchants. Some pirates help islands that are under unfair government and let them become free from the unfairness. But the Navy doesn't care about the good things they do, they just blame them and become murderers." She got up pacing now, one could tell she was angry. She wanted to slice something, she looked around and found a tree nearby she quickly drew her sword and cut it diagonally the tree was cut in two. She didn't have super strength but she did have plenty of training with a sword, she had strength of a swordsman, agility and gracefulness in her work compared to most swordsmen which usually were more focused on power. She felt better watching the tree hit the cold ground, she returned to her spot after sheathing her sword and sat down as if nothing had happened.

Albel watches the entire scene with the tree play out patiently, letting her vent her anger out before continuing the conversation. After she returned to her original spot, feeling more relaxed he continued. "Your crew seems interesting. Don't feel angry over these kinds of things, it's exactly what I find wrong with the world. As I was growing up I came to the realization good and evil are all just perspective, especially if you can justify your acts. For instance, sacrificing a single person to save an entire village, where you can justify that your act was the right thing to do because you saved all of the other people. However, killing the person is STILL an 'evil' act for we as humans to do. So technically it was still an evil act, but the person who committed it will never be condemned because it was justified.

"The same thing can be said about this dispute between the navy and the pirates. Both think they're doing good acts and can justify it, however the good acts each ones do oppose each other so that one of them is made out to be evil. Unfortunately, since the pirates methods are believed to be evil, in essence stealing, they are the ones that are frowned upon." He smiles gently and just shrugs.

"It doesn't matter how it's looked about, Captain was a good man. He cared more for anyone than gold or silver. He was a far better man than any of those scumbag navy men who only pretend to be out to protect people. When they themselves take bribes from some of the most horrible men in the world." She said aggravated, she wasn't angry. She was hurt, but she often hid her feelings with other feelings. She remembered the man who had given her hope, she herself was at fault for his death. She blamed herself because everyone she got close to would die or betray her. She remembered Rowdy Dan, yes everyone she got close to seemed to die protecting her. She hated that, for once she had forced herself to become stronger to protect them. And there was no one to protect, it was a empty loneliness that remained hidden. She was glad to have the bandanna to cover her eyes from his view. Because what would've been clearly visible as tears welling in her eyes, were unseen from his view. Her chin and mouth remained in the same position as before so it looked like she was still angry.

"The same thing can be said about this dispute between the navy and the pirates. "Only bad pirates steal, good pirates fight and win and confiscate the good they've won. Or they confiscate goods from people who don't deserve them, such as the navy." She said coldly, she was trying to get a grip on herself. She scolded herself for letting her emotions have slack in front of a man. She tried to force the tears to stay in her eyes, she didn't want anyone to know that she had a weakness. It was a weakness that she hated at times, it was sadness and loneliness. She could fight the physical enemies with ease. But the ones of the heart were a much harder matter, pain didn't matter, fears didn't matter, but focusing on the sadness and emptiness did. She stood up, "Let's fight." She said out of nowhere, her voice was a bit cold and sounded a bit broken compared to her earlier cold comment. Fighting was the one thing that kept her from dwelling on her past or even her sadness. She moved farther away from the edge of the cliff, waiting him to agree to fight or something. She doubted he'd question why she wanted to fight now, but that didn't matter. She needed to do something before he discovered her weakness.

Albel looks over at her as she begins to get works up over..whatever it was she was getting worked up over. He listens to all of her words quietly and sighs, She's listening with her emotions, not with her logic. She fails to see that I'm not saying the pirates are bad, I'd actually rather be on their side. I suppose it doesn't matter though.. Suddenly he hears her demand to fight and his eyes flick upwards at her. He takes in her tense stance and closes his eyes, he himself relaxing a little more. "No. I will not fight you," he tells her simply before jumping off of the top of the boulder and walking up before her. He puts a hand on her shoulder gently and tries to calm her a little.

"Before you get mad, I will explain to you why I will not fight you, hopefully you will listen to this with your head and not you emotions. For starters, you are still weak from your escapade earlier, it would be no challenge for me to fight you in your current physical state. The same goes for your current mental state. You are tense and thinking in haste, therefore you are bound to make many stupid mistakes during a serious fight, any of which could cause a serious injury when fighting against me. So I'm going to say this now. Until you are able to come to terms with whatever it was that happened to you in the past I will not fight you." He holds his hand up to her face to prevent her from interrupting because he knew she would at that point, "I don't care about whatever you're about to say about being in peace with it because it's untrue. You are still too easily affected by comments about it and therefore cannot possibly be at peace with yourself. I'm sorry, but I will not fight a swordsman who us weaker in mind than she is in body."
