<div align=center>William whimpered and shook his head, before shaking his head again and sinking to the carpet. "M'sorry." He squeaked, crossing his legs, staring at the floor and frowning. "I'm not really used to compliments," he laughed nervously, his fringe falling in front of his face, "especially by, y'know, guys." Gabe confused him a little, he'd said he'd had a girlfriend, but... William shook his head, forcing the thoughts out of his head. He shuffled backwards and leaned against the wall, it wasn't dark yet, Bill didn't think it would get dark for a little while yet. He resembled a lost puppy rather than a human boy at the moment, and with the look he gave Gabriel he might as well have shot him through the heart.

Bill whimpered again, he didn't really feel like moving from his spot, and instead fell onto his side and curled up into a little ball. He'd upset Gabe and he could feel that, he didn't like the way it felt in the back of his mind, he hated upsetting people, he was too in tune with the feelings of others to be able to deal with it properly, and when he was feeling the same it was doubled. He didn't like it. "Mmf."</div>

"No don't worry about it," Gabriel answered, "I should have made it more clear I was complimentin' you." He nodded, "really though, I would expect you to get a lot of compliments." He shrugged, "I get loads, even from guys." He laughed, " 'cause I'm hot stuff." If Gabe's ego got any bigger he'd soar out the window. Though in fairness to him he didn't use a tone of arrogance, rather a tone of humour.

"Hey Bill, it's okay... don't be upset," Gabe went over William and sat down beside him again. He felt bad for Bill, he could sense that the boy had felt his upset and so Gabe was trying to erase that from his mind and replace it with a happy feeling. Maybe if he did that William would feel the happiness too?

<div align=center>"I don't." William answered plainly, blinking once, and tucking his head against himself a little more. He wasn't sure how much he could tolerate the man's arrogance, then again William supposed it was better to be arrogant than like him. Plus, Gabe didn't exactly not have a reason for the arrogance. William hated being as self-conscious as he was, it made him think about everything he did and everything he said, he didn't really like going out much because of it, it was a wonder how he'd stayed with Gabe for such a long time. Bill made a noise, and sighed, he wasn't sure what Gabe was trying to do but he didn't know how he felt about it. He wasn't being nasty after all. The boy merely wanted comfort, though perhaps that'd make things awkward again.

"But there isn't really a reason for it..." He added quietly, glancing up at Gabe, the small frown still painted upon his effeminate features. He wanted to go home, he wanted someone to cuddle. Though that had only ever been his mother, or perhaps his sister on rare occasions, he'd never wanted to get too close to girls, they didn't interest him and he didn't particularly understand the appeal of them.</div>

Gabriel shook his head in disagreement,
"There's plenty of reasons to compliment you," he frowned, "surely you can see how attractive you are?" He couldn't tell if the boy was looking for attention or if he actually believed that he was unattractive. He didn't understand how anyone with a body like William's could feel unattractive, the kid was practically the definition of smoking hot.

Suddenly Gabe remembered that William might be able to hear these thoughts and glanced at Bill apprehensively. He still hadn't decided how he felt about William but at the back of his mind he had this nudging feeling that he was falling for him.

<div align=center>The way William's stance had changed suggested he had heard that. And apparently it had rendered him unable to speak, he whimpered and hid himself again, pretending he hadn't heard the man's thoughts, though it was obvious. William wondered if the way he looked had driven Gabe to interact with him in the first place, though Bill didn't really agree with him on that. He mumbled something inaudible and fumbled around for something to hold on for, merely for comfort than anything else, he tended to panic after a little while if he lacked something to comfort himself with, no matter what the situation was, in that aspect, he was very much a child.

He glanced at Gabe, staring at him with one, soft doe eye, studying him for a moment, before hiding again and closing his eyes, still reaching desperately out for something to grab. Will really wasn't used to someone being so nice to him, and in all honesty he was struggling to know how to react to it, he didn't understand why it was happening, nor did he understand why he cared so much, it was an odd feeling to him and not one he was really familiar with.</div>

"You heard that, didn't you?" Gabe's cheeks flushed a little, though it was not very noticeable on his tan skin. "Well..all I can say is it's true," Gabe eyed William up and down, "you're very handsome."

Gabriel paced around the room, he had a habit of not being able to stay still for more than two minutes, he was like a restless toddler. "Sorry my legs start to annoy me when I sit down for too long," he said by way of explanation for what he was doing.

"Do you want anything?" Gabe asked, it looked like William was looking for something.

<div align=center>William nodded a little, covering his eyes with one arm. He only removed it for a second to peak at the man, before covering his face again. Gabe's pacing was making him feel a little nervous, as well as being able to feel the restlessness he was experiencing, it was making him struggle to concentrate on conversation. His eventually found the hem of Gabe's jeans, and grabbed hold of it, almost viciously it seemed (but it was more desperate than aggressive), though poor William just wanted something to hold on to. He held, and pulled softly, his shoulders relaxed a little and his breathing slowed, he'd most likely fall asleep where he was if Gabe were to leave him long enough, though that probably wouldn't be very good for William's sake, the carpet wasn't the place for a nap.

He shook his head at what Gabe had said and frowned to himself, "I'm not," he muttered harshly, arguing back at the other man and tensing up again, though he realized perhaps he shouldn't have used such a tone, he hadn't meant to, and he suddenly didn't like the feel of the situation. "I'm too young for you anyway." He added quietly, tilting his head to his face was mostly pressed against the carpet.</div>

Gabe squeaked a little when William grabbed the hem of his jeans, he hadn't been expecting it and was unsure if the boy was signifying something else or if he just wanted to hold onto something.

"If you're getting tired perhaps we should find your dorm..." Gabe mumbled, noticing William's reactions getting slower. "I mean you can spend the night here if you want but...I don't really have that much space, as you can see, so you'd have to sleep on the couch and I'm sure having your own bed would be comfier."

"You don't think you are, you mean." Gabe replied with an air of upset. "Doesn't mean you're not though." He smiled," but I can't really convince you to see yourself better can I?" He frowned slightly, "you're not that much younger than me..."

<div align=center>William laughed again, his fingers still curled around the material of Gabe's pant leg. He'd never actually asked how old Gabe was, twenties he suspected. He was certainly older. He shook his head, he'd rather not have to sleep on the couch, he most likely wouldn't even fit, besides, all his things were in his dorm. "I should go..." He answered softly, running his hand up to the mid-point of Gabe's shin, "it was nice of you to offer though." He squirmed a little, grumbled, and stuck a hand up, grabbing Gabe's wrist and tugging himself clumsily to his feet. He stumbled a little, and steadied himself on the wall.

Gabe most likely couldn't convince William to like himself, but that was just the way Bill was, he didn't like it, but he couldn't help it. He thought he could find his own way back to his room, he didn't want to trouble Gabe, and it was getting dark after all, he'd let Gabe go to bed, he was only going to do the same. There wasn't enough room for two people to be in here, not over night at least, and William didn't really want to sleep in his clothes, it was uncomfortable.</div>

Gabe nodded, he understood,
"Yeah, probably best. More comfy," he laughed, "well I'll walk you back then?" William didn't know his way around Starlight Academy all that well yet and it would be on Gabriel's conscience if Bill got lost on his way over.

"You're gonna have to tell me where your dorm is," Gabe told Bill. "It shouldn't be too far from here right?" He gazed at William, taking the boy in all over again. He sighed softly, he knew he didn't really have a chance with him, I'm too young for you anyway, basically meant 'you're too old for me, sorry.' Didn't it?
