Another day at work for her, stocking the potions, the spell books and the various things. She was always tempted to use her employee discount to get a sex swap charm but she always decided against it.

She was finishing up with some potions when from the corner of her eye she saw someone approach. "Hello," she'd say with a smile, finishing quickly and turning to her.

"I'm Xera, how may I help you?" the customer was very attractive, but it wasn't the time or place to really consider that. @Lich King

What did most young adults do with free time? Hang out with friends. Catch up on their favorite shows, or maybe finish a good book. To Isabella, the answer was Who Knows as she found a lot of her time was being spent catching up on the advancements that magic had made and spending time with her now more aged family members. Today was one of those days where she would head to her sister's apartment to eat and talk until the bleak hours of the morning. However, food wasn't the only thing on the docket for the day. Her sister had tasked her with buying a few items from a magic shop not too far from the apartment to liven up the later hours. Her sister was always the more adventurous of her siblings so a feeling of excitement always filled her when she considered what new tricks her sister had up her sleeve to show her.

Perusing the different items on the shelves Isabella questioned what each one did and how they worked. When she came up to the tomes section of the store a specific book called out to her and with some enthusiasm, she tried to open it and catch a glimpse of its contents however the tome remained shut. It wasn't as surprising to Isabella as it was disheartening. Many magical books required specific keys to access them whether they are a certain word or magical spell. Taking the book under her arm and picking up the items for her sister she'd make her way toward the register.

Dressed down in some orange sweats, a black hoodie, and old beat-up sneakers Isabella would put on a friendly smile and place her items up " Hello, I just have a few things.....and this book as well but I was wondering how I'm supposed to open it? Does the store put a charm on it or does the book have a specific mechanism to unlock itself?"

"Oh here let me show you," picking up the book she'd tap the stripe on the side of the book and it'd open. "None of our books are charmed to stay close, instead the whole store is enchanted to keep any spells from them to work." She'd smile, "and we don't keep any cursed books here, so it's all good."

She'd scan the items. "First time here?" she'd ask as she told her the price, some of the items were on sale so she got some discounts. "Did you find everything you needed?"

While she struggled with social stuff at times, she was always good at talking to customers.

Paying close attention to what Xera was saying about the magical books at the beginning her mind half heard what the cashier was saying. "Um...I think so. One second." pulling out her phone Isabella would do a short scroll of the items she was tasked to pick up and the items she had. All seemed accounted for save the book she got for her own reasons. "Think that's about it. Do you carry any books here by Fela Silvstra on Potions? Or maybe something involving the use of ancestors in spiritual magic?"

Isabella would give a quick once over of the store with her eyes before going "Sorry I know this isn't a magic bookstore but I'm caught up on all my reading at home and need something for the night." She'd put on a passive smile as she pulled out her wallet to pay for the items she had at the moment.

She'd hum in thought. "We have the one about potions for sure," she'd say with a smile, "and it's no problem." Xera would step away from the register, grabbing the book from the shelf and bringing it over to her.

"Let me check in the back for the one on spiritual magic, I remember we got some more books in the other day." She'd step into the back room, quickly looking through some things before reemerging with a couple of books.

"Here we are," she'd say, handing her the books to look at. "I know a good book store, and have some recommendations if you'd like," she'd offer with a smile. "I was going to hear there myself soon."

Isabella checked the time on her phone one more time to get a reference of where she was in the day before saying "Thank you." and beginning to look through the books and get a feel for their contents beyond the title. Giving a half-minded Hmm to thee cashiers last statement she'd look up from the book she was holding.

"Lot of new stores in the city I still haven't been to. Feel free to write it down on the receipt....I'll take this one annnnnd this one." she'd slide the unwanted books to the side as she pushed her newly emboldened stack of stuff forward on the counter.

"Thank you for the help Xera. Are you a mage as well or do you just enjoy the magical arts." She'd say trying to make idle conversation as Xera did her thing and she dug out a new amount of money from her wallet.

"Have you been off island?" she'd ask curiously, scanning the items quickly and bagging them neatly. "The island does seem to change a lot, always feels like there's new stuff being added," she'd say with a chuckle.

She'd tell her the total, carrying out her cashier duties. "You're very welcome, and I am a mage yes," she'd smile. "I'm a war mage, I can summon weapons currently, working on armor next," she'd write the address of the shot on her receipt.

"What about you?" she'd ask curiously. "Mage? I don't think I caught your name" she'd chuckle.

"My name is Isabella and yeah I've been away for a spell," she said, handing Xera the money for her the items. " I was away studying magic in my homeland as sort of a gap year before college." She was lying through her teeth but telling people why she really wasn't on the up and up of MC was usually met with pity and a bunch of I'm sorry from everyone.

"I mostly do Fire and Dark magic myself but I dabble where I can in other art forms such as potions and herbology. But War Mage huh? I've only met a few who'd call themselves that but the magic of summoning weapons I've read up a lot on in Highschool. You still in grade school?" She'd take the receipt and look over the address trying her best to sear it into memory before tucking it away in her pocket.

"Pleasure to meet you," she'd say with a smile. "Well, welcome back, hope the changes aren't to odd," sometimes even she was thrown off by the sudden shifts and changes. "At least we're never bored," she'd say with a chuckle."

Usually she wouldn't stop to have a full on conversation with a customer, but it was slow and she was done with her non cashier duties.

"I'm a senior in high school," she'd say, "so nearly in college, though I'm not really sure if I wanna go to college." She'd shrug. "I do like the idea of opening a shop like this one, so school would definitely help with that."

"Potion making isn't something a I know a lot about but..," grabbing a piece of paper she'd jot another address down and would offer it to her, "this place has really fresh ingredients, some of it is expensive but that's because its rarer materials."

"College isn't for everyone, especially with how expanded the universe is and all the dimensions available it's hardly a necessity to find success in life." Isabella grabbed up the paper while she spoke and just showed that one n her pocket not worrying to remember it too much.

"But I would say a few classes here and there would definitely help you get your business idea off the ground in a more financially secure way. Never had any business plans myself but the idea of starting a private school did cross my mind when I was little." She harkened back to her younger years for quick second and the names she had made up for it.

Isabella scooped up her bags from the counter and adjusted them so she could hold everything in one hand. "Though a magic shop sounds far more profitable on an island like this." she gave a small laugh.
