He'd listen, Kon indeed seemed to have a lot to say, but Zeke didn't mind, though it was a lot to process. Then a dad was mentioned, and Zeke would flinch and look down, he'd briefly thought Kon meant his own father, who was unhappy with it all.

Zeke made himself look back up at Kon. "So the small changes over time were easier?" he hadn't used his charm a lot, most of the time he spent in a female form was in the dream world. "Maybe....maybe I haven't felt that yet....because I haven't used the charm much."

He'd pull said charm out and looked it over. "And clothes and all that....I've only bought a few things....buying new clothes for it turned out more complicated that I expected."

Zeke's flinch did not go unnoticed. Konpeitō went silent for a few seconds, curious as to what was said that could cause such a reaction. Was it the part about his dad? That tended to be an issue a lot of trans people had.

"With how often I see the charms used around here, I think it's more of an individual thing. A me thing. I'm used to a life where transitioning means you get a shot or rub gel on you and the changes happen over many months. I didn't like having inches added to my height, the sudden change of my voice, the... sudden change in genitalia." Zeke seemed old enough for Kon to not have to shy away from that topic. It was something he must have dealt with already if he's been using the charm repeatedly.

"Clothing can be difficult, yep! Having to convert from male sizes to female sizes and vice versa. I had to start getting my clothes enchanted so they would shift with me. It was cheaper in the long run, surprisingly. I thought it would be really expensive, but with how many shifters are on the island, getting your clothes enchanted is no big deal!" That was one thing Konpeitō loved about this island. He would have had second thoughts on transitioning if he had to spend all his money on new clothes.

"My girlfriend...she has a dream world," he'd say with a nod, "in it I can change form whenever I wanted and it felt real, so I did it there first....maybe that's helped me adjust for the real world." The change in genitalia was certainly odd, as was the added weight of breasts. "Though my real female form was a little different."

"Though...," his face would flush a little from embarrassment, "I'm not the most....masculine guy around." He wasn't super feminine either, but he was on his way to being what most would consider a thin pretty boy. "So its probably not as big a change as it is for most."

At this point Zeke noticed one of his classmates staring at him, he tried not to look at him and instead tried to focus on Kon. "You...you mentioned your dad?"

A girlfriend with a dream world. Konpeitō knew someone like that but decided to bring it up. Multiple people having dream worlds didn't sound implausible.

Also, his dad came up. That was, weirdly enough, a much easier topic to approach. "Don't be embarrassed about being a feminine guy. It's normal around here. Judging by the Narrow Reality, androgyny is becoming more popular there too.

"As for my dad, well, what do you want to know about him? He wasn't transphobic or anything. Er, against trans people. So I lucked out there, in a way. He just liked things in a particular way, so I couldn't transition the way I wanted." Worded like that, it definitely sounded somewhat transphobic. The word just didn't fit. It was complicated. There were multiple other issues in the way, like Japan's views towards transgender people and the fact that he was a slave hidden from the outside world.

He'd chuckle. "Well I got an amazing girlfriend," he'd say with s smile, "Lycia seems to like how I look so I guess I cant be that bad." He was trying to sound more confident, be less hard on himself, wasn't easy for him, but it was a start.

Zeke would tilt his head, listening as Kon told him about his dad, he didn't sound to bad he supposed. "Just curious, I know that....that family issues..can come up with stuff like this," he knew that first hand.

"Can...can I ask something? You don't have to answer if you don't want to," he'd clear his throat, "how did he react when you told him?"

Konpeitō looked upon Zeke with happiness. Zeke also confirmed that Lycia was the one he was speaking about. "Having people to support you is one of the most important things. I'm very happy that your girlfriend is being supportive."

Too bad his question would be met with a vague answer.

"I never came out to my dad. Not really. He wanted a daughter and a son, so I would play both roles based on his mood. Definitely not a normal family situation." That should have been obvious, but what with how Sprinkles viewed his life, the various backgrounds on this island, and the potential that Zeke might mistake this as a normal transgender life, there was a need to clarify. "I only stuck to male when I came here. There was no one to tell me when I needed to switch."

"I...I'm sorry," he hadn't intended to bring up unpleasant memories for Kon. "I'm happy things are better for you here," he decided not to ask anything more about his father, seemed best to let this subject go.

He'd clear his throat. "Have all your classmates been ok with it?" he was assuming that Kon was a student, he was on campus afterall. "Some mine have been giving me some odd looke," a few of the looks had been unpleasant, but those were mostly from bullies who didn't like him anyways.

"Uh....I've been thinking about seeing someone...a psychologist or something?" he'd shrug. "I'm not really sure who'd really know about this."

Konpeitō responded to Zeke's worry with a small, empty smile. "No, it's nothing to worry about. I feel very little about him." All he had left were the emotions he could make thinking back on his memories. Memories that no longer felt like his. The best way he could view his dad was as if he was the abusive father of another person. Disgust, annoyance, and not Konpeitō's problem.

With Zeke asking about life as a student, Kon figured it would be best to slowly reveal the truth. "When I was a student, I didn't get bothered much about it. The hardest part was when I changed my name and appearance. It required me to communicate with everyone I knew about the change and hope they accepted it. The people who mattered to me stuck by me." It was unfortunate that Zeke had to deal with uncomfortable looks. Manta Carlos was no utopia, but Kon thought of the citizens better than that.

"It might be the fact that you're going through a change. Someone dyeing their hair will get looks from those familiar with their natural color. It raises the question of 'What's going on with them?' As for the psychologist, give it a go. I'm unsure if the sex swap charms include hormonal changes, but it's better to have someone professional to talk about your troubles with."

They'd toy with the charm a little longer before slipping it on, shifting to their female form. "I hadn't thought about hormone stuff," they'd say, a bit of worry in their voice, "I'll uh...I'll have to talk to a doctor about it." They'd look down nervously, this was one of the few times they'd used the charm in such a public place.

"Theres a lot more to it all than I thought," she wasnt complaining, just stating it. "Clothes...hormones...," she'd rub one of her cheeks as she thought about it all. "It's...it's gonna take a while."

Then she'd look up at him, curiously tilting her head. "Wait....are you not a student anymore?" if he wasn't then there was the question of why he was in campus.

Konpeitō nodded that there was a lot. Even from a magical angle, there was a lot to think about. Kon had found that any shifter had their initial difficulties. In the end, shape-shifting was never easy.

The question about why he was on campus didn't disturb him at all. He had an answer all planned out. "I used to be in the Mass Media club. I thought going there for some information on the rumors would help. I also figured the students here would know a bit about that too. I thought non-students coming here was relatively normal anyway? The library here is the biggest on the island."
