Sprinkles was exhausted. Or numb. That and more had been overlapping lately. He had recently come back from cleaning Aisha's home, and all he wanted was to go to his room, flop on his bed, and take a long nap. That wasn't an option, however. He had a lot of studying to do now that Jericho gave him a start to making this nightmare a dream.

But maybe Sprinkles should've been more aware of how he looked as he entered the student lounge. The strange looks he got from people from his pink, overly cutesy maid outfit didn't concern him. What concerned him was seeing Ganymede using one of the public computers. Quickly, Sprinkles put on a more casual look by straightening his back and putting a bounce to his gait. Just because he was in a bad mood didn't mean his friend had to become worried and fall into that.

Ganymede was working on an assignment for his remedial class. He looked up from the computer and waved at Sprinkles, but he paused mid-wave, surprised.

He gasped and stood up to get closer to him. "Did they give you a uniform?" From the look on Ganymede's face, one could tell he approved of it. He was happy for Sprinkles, and a little bit jealous if he was honest. "I've never seen a pink version of that outfit before..."

Sprinkles looked down at Gany, confused. "I don't know who would give me this uniform. This is from my home. I, uh, got a job as a friend's housekeeper, so I'm using this as one of my uniforms."

Noticing how much Ganymede admired his clothes, Sprinkles couldn't help but look embarrassed. "I'm sure I could find a dress like this for you online. We could match on some days. It'd be really cute."

The smaller cat-boy considered this.

"Mmm... I'm not sure pink would work on me. But it looks great on you!" It matched Sprinkles' aesthetic really well, especially with his hair being the way it was.

But there were other things Ganymede wanted to cover, such as: "They let you get a job?" And "...Is your friend working you really hard?" The more he looked at sprinkles the more he realized he looked worn out.

"Oh come on, you'd look great. Your black hair would really make any pink on you 'pop.'" He gently patted the boy on the back.

Sprinkles would have said more to support Ganymede, but then the topic of his job came up. "Yeah, why wouldn't they? I'm old enough." He gave a dismissive shrug. He hadn't meant to come off as thinking the question was silly, but, well, he did think that. "I'm not being worked too hard though. I just never had to go through hours of school before cleaning and organizing a house I'm not familiar with. It's pretty tiring... I'm a-okay though. Seriously. I don't want to worry you."

Ganymede nodded. Sprinkles had to do all the cleaning by hand, too - which was surely making it harder for him. But Sprinkles said he was okay, and they had both surely been through worse without getting a choice in the matter. Sprinkles chose this.

"Okay!" New topic. "Do you want to... hang out, or study together? They want me to be doing a project in remedial but it's hard for me because I have to use the computer a lot for it."

Computer use just wasn't coming naturally to him. But at least he was getting used to terms like 'hanging out.' Plus, he hadn't made a lot of other friends yet. He still didn't feel comfortable around other kids 'his age' yet, because he wasn't used to being around them. But he liked Sprinkles. They understood each other.

Sprinkles' eyebrows rose in surprise. It looked like his worries were unfounded. Of course. He was being silly. Kids tended to not focus too much on things like this, and Gany had his own issues to worry about too.

He laughed off the surprised look on his face with a casual attitude. "I'd love to hang out with you. Sounds more fun than my plan to lay around doing nothing. So, what's the issue you're having specifically?" Sprinkles moves closer to the computer he saw Ganymede using earlier. "With my help, I'm sure you'll get the hang of computers in no time."

The pair moved into Sprinkles' room, and Sprinkles helped him with the assignment. They wanted Ganymede to learn a couple of things about star wars and superheroes by looking up a few facts about them. His cultural class was had a lot of people who didn't know much about modern popular culture, and it had a new teacher. This was supposed to be a fun assignment. Ganymede wasn't the only one struggling with it. He wasn't entirely sure if these stories were real or not.

But once Sprinkles got him on the right track, he could handle it by himself.

At one point, Ganymede leaned back, laptop in his lap, and asked: "Were you ever allowed to watch movies?"

Sprinkles found Ganymede's assignment kind of interesting, kind of funny. It made sense: help people understand modern pop culture. It was just that Sprinkles was familiar with a lot of pop culture already. Realizing how little some people understood every day things were funny to him until he realized that Ganymede, and probably most of the other NEK0s, had limited entertainment. It sounded boring.

Laying on his bed with a lazy posture, Sprinkled tensed a bit at Gany's question. Talking about his personal life sometimes went badly, but dodging questions was worse. "Very rarely. Dad was always wary about me watching movies. Didn't want me to get bad thoughts in my head. Which is funny, considering the internet is full of messed up stuff. He must've thought I'd see some really bad movies."

Ganymede always thought it was a little weird that Sprinkles called his master "dad." But, then again, there were a lot of things that were weird about Ganymede's relationship with his master. He was feeling more and more self conscious about those things, and isolated by them.

"My master didn't even let me touch the computer he had," Ganymede said. "Or even look at a TV, much less a movie. I used to think it was because it was an arcane enigma that would drive me insane, but... Maybe he just didn't want me to know about the world outside. Or to talk to anyone he didn't know."

He didn't know why he was talking about this now, but he almost couldnt stop. Sprinkles was one of the only people like him he felt safe talking to. Everyone else would probably judge him. Even his therapist. He was sure that his therapist was judging him.

"People get all sad and weirded out whenever I mention that he wouldn't let me watch the tv. Or - if I tell people vampires kind of scare me, cause when we would have one as a guest my master would sometimes let them drink from me, and it would really hurt and I'd feel sick after. But if I said that too much I think Alma might hear about it and she might... Stop liking me, maybe." He almost said Alma might bite him for it.
