"Just elections," Jude admitted, watching his phone for a message from Mist. "They're taking up a fair amount of time, personally. Figuring out how I want to do things. Originally I was going to just kind of be a plus one for Alma, but now I kind of want to... do my own thing. To establish myself separately from them."

It seemed almost merciful when Jude's phone beeped, and Jude glanced at it quickly.

"Oh, they're just down near the entrance. Do you want to just meet them there?"

"We can both go," Jude said, gesturing down the hall before starting to walk.

"The offer's appreciated, but I think I'm going to try and handle things on my own. I have... a lot of time these days. I don't know if you heard, but I, uh, stopped sleeping. That's actually Summer's power, or one of them."

"Like at all," Jude confirmed, spotting Mist in the distance and waving as he headed towards them. "I won't get sick, I don't need to sleep, and I don't get tired. Summer called it the 'college student special' once upon a time."

Exactly once, and that had taken all the emotional energy she had, apparently.

By the time they reached Mist, Jude was in seemingly good spirits, gesturing to Mist as he did.

"This is Mist," he said. "Mist, this is Elisa. She's a friend of mine, who I think you might get along with a bit better."

Mist gave Elisa a small bow, doing his best to be polite despite the obviously sour mood. But he took a few moments, glancing between the two of them, and then simply held out his hand for Elisa to touch.

"I'll pact with you. I don't get along with Jude at all either way," he said.

Jude turned his attention to Annie, grinning at the woman in turn.

"So. Want me to take you to the range?"
