"Of course. That's what I was about to offer, actually." He first needed to make sure Bel was comfortable with the idea of another person giving him direct help.

Sprinkles had thought direct help wouldn't be needed when Bel began her backbend. She was looking great at first. She didn't rush herself down and kept a fine form. And kept it she did, because then she revealed she was stuck.

Sprinkles rushed over to Bel and helped her back up. "I'll keep you balanced and safe from falling, but try to walk back up with the wall. I don't want you getting used to falling over or being helped up when doing this."

Bel was about to protest simply because she was getting amazingly dizzy and lightheaded. However, noting Sprinkles was keeping her steady and from collapsing, Bel took a deep breath and reached out with one hand feeling for the wall behind her. Finding it, she started pushing herself upwards slowly, trying not to panic.

Once upright, Bel sagged in relief against the wall. "Okay, that was way harder than it looked..." she admitted sheepishly, very glad it was her and Sprinkles only in the gym, cause Bel had a feeling that if their teammate Aedes had been watching, she would have scoffed, laughed or made fun of her.

"And thanks for the help, I thought I was gonna fall flat on my back," she explained, deciding to take a short break to recompose herself.

It was probably the wrong call to have Bel walk back up when she was clearly dizzy. In the end, it worked out, but he kept in mind that Bel didn't seem used to being upside down for a long time.

"You'll get the hang of it eventually. You did pretty good, other than needing to work on your endurance to being upside down and your balance." Sprinkles gave Bel an encouraging smile, then returned to his own mat and continued his practice.

Next up was the sweated forward fold. Relatively simple, but he intended to do it with his legs parted and his torso and head reaching the ground. He managed to get his stomach with much struggle. Holding the position was a whole other thing. It was painful, if he was going to be honest, and he pulled himself back very soon.

Taking a sip from her water bottle, Bel sat and watched as Sprinkles attempted a forward fold. And as she watched, she couldn't help but wonder why he was doing it that way. It looked harder, or more complicated at least.

"That looks like it's somewhat painful. Why not build up to it instead?" she suggested helpfully as she put her water bottle down.

"It's only painful because my body isn't used to this kind of stretching," he explained. Bel did have a point, though. He was moving too fast. Trying too hard to push himself. That was how gymnasts got injuries, and Sprinkles wasn't very comfortable with the idea of breaking a bone. Pulling a muscle was all he was willing to endure for the moment.

He tried again, this time slowly stretching himself out. In the meantime, he tried to chat it up with Bel. "Don't get lazy. Why not trying doing some folds with me? We gotta keep each other encouraged, yeah?"

"Okay, okay, I'm coming ..." Bel said as she got to her feet, feeling normal once again now that the sudden dizziness had passed.

Standing on a mat in front of Sprinkles, Bel watched him for a moment and then got into position and did the forward fold, which she did the normal way by putting her hands on her hips and bending forward slowly. When she was halfway down she touched the floor, moved further inwards and hugged her knees. It was a yoga move she knew well and had little problem executing, unlike the backbend earlier.

"This reminds me of the yoga classes that I used to do," she commented as she let go of her knees and stood up again. "Maybe we should sign up for yoga one day?" she said as she bent forward again and repeated the fold a second time, enjoying how it stretched and pulled her back muscles.

Sprinkles watched Bel get into position. She looked significantly more comfortable with a front fold than with the backbend. Who knew the one that didn't require you to mimic a bridge as the blood rushed to your head the longer you held the position would be hard.

"I'm already in so many things: work, school, cheerleading, hobbies. Easier for me to pull up a video online and mimic whatever I see. I'm only doing this to test out how far I can stretch my body with my power. And, uh... this will sound weird, but I'm trying to hurt a little so I can practice turning off my pain. I'm being careful, of course."

He pulled himself further. His stomach was now on the ground, and the pain in his legs was now dimmed. This was safe. He was safe. He just had to focus on multiple parts of his body.

As she was coming out of her yoga pose, Bel raised her head and stopped midway to look directly at Sprinkles. "Come again... Did you just say, you want to hurt yourself?" she asked incredulously.

"But why? Why do you wanna do something like that?" she asked Sprinkles now a bit concerned for him as she stood completely upright.

"That was bad wording!" Sprinkles admitted as he straightened himself. "I'm teaching myself how to control the sense of touch, and, well, pain is part of that. I'm not doing anything harmful. Stretching felt like a safe way to work on multiple powers at once... if that makes sense."

"Ohh," Bel said, very relieved to hear that Sprinkles wasn't on some self-harming kick or anything.

"Okay, well, as long as it's just that and nothing else," she said a tad skeptically as she bent forward, got down on one knee as she stretched the other leg out behind her in a yoga position known as the dragon.

"Try this position, it's good for stretching muscles in the legs," Bel said as she placed an arm behind her back.
