It was a delight to look at Noel as he got all excited, and Brynjar had a small distracted smile on his face as he observed the man. He nodded along a bit, of course, and listened, but was mostly watching Noel's expressions. It was wonderful how happy Christmas made him, even if it was basically Noel's domain. Brynjar was quietly envious he didn't have such a thing that made him so passionate. Well, aside from Noel himself.

Brynjar blinked once when Noel asked him a question, snapping out of his daze.
"Oh, um...yes please."
Brynjar said, blushing slightly, and pushed his glass closer so Noel could fill it. Hopefully his staring had not been strange.
"How do you prepare the batter?"

Noel felt extremely happy that evening. He loved being around Brynjar and the idea that they could share things they liked to do with each other only fueled his enthusiasm for the task ahead.

After pouring Brynjar some more mulled wine, Noel set the pot aside and pulled out two aprons from a drawer, one for himself and one for Brynjar - both aprons had cute Christmas pictures on the front.

"It's actually quite easy," he told him. "It's just making the filling with some brown sugar, maple syrup, eggs, melted butter, and some walnuts and, if you like them, we can add raisins too." Noel explained.

"Oh, and the pastry for the tart shells, I often just buy," he admitted with a grin.

Brynjar received the apron and looked at the image on it for a moment before smiling slightly and putting it on. He wasn't one to be ashamed of wearing something like that, especially since in his life he had even worn a tutu.
Although Brynjar wouldn't tell that story to Noel in a long time.

What Noel described to Brynjar sounded delicious, and he nodded a bit as he tied the apron behind his back. And when Noel admitted he usually bought ready-made tart shells Brynjar chuckled a bit and pushed his mulled wine to the side a bit.

"Then would you allow me to make the tart shells this time? That way...we will both do our part. It would make me happy."
Brynjar in turn said, and as he looked at Noel he had a slight pleading look in his eyes. Brynjar had learned to be a bit selfish now and then with Noel, even if it was with small things like this.
