Adeloise hummed, suspiciously sounding like a long drawn out "boo" between her pouted lips. She would have loved to see her fairy wings! She always thought they'd had pretty sparkly wings much better than butterflies. Though before her train of thought could ponder further and ask about it, Olive gladly demonstrated how she moved about.

"Oh my gosh, that's really cool!" she chirped, "You're like one of those cool girls in action movies where they swing around with grappling hooks and stuff." Adeloise always wanted to try out those things but never got herself to do since her parents were rather protective and didn't want her trying stunts at a young age. She was tweve now though! She could handle those stuff easy peasy. For a moment, she seemed to ponder on a thought, "Hey, you could if we do have classes together, maybe we could just go together when moving classes? I can let you sit on my shoulders or on my head when I bring cute hats!"

Olive stopped dead, a statue-like pose. "Really?! You would do that?!" she nearly squealed. Adeloise was so nice! And her hats seemed to be very cool. Hats, she'd heard, were fashionable... whatever that meant... in Italy at one time. "G-Grazie! I'd like that very much!" Stopping to nod her head, she lost her footing and slipped off the branch - luckily she still had her string, which was tied around her waist - and so she was safe. In fact, she was giggling. "Oops! I had better watch my footing, no?"

Adeloise cheered herself hearing the positive reply from Olive. It would be really nice! She gets to hang out with another friend while going through her classes (Ha-- take that Adrien and Stella!) and she also got to be helpful in a way! For sure, it would make moving around for the little fae.

The girl flinced when Olive had nearly fell off the branch. With a sigh and a hand to her chest, she smiled to her, "W-well, it's a bit of a long way down from her for you," she said, the slight nervousness from the minor panic in the giggle that she let out. "Ooh, say, I've been wondering... your accent, I'm really curious: where are you from?"

"I have an accent...?" Olive was in fact clueless to the fact we had an accent. "Well," she started with a shy smile, "I have lived my whole life in Italy, and I spoke mainly Italian - it was through foreigners, much large foreigners who took down our trees, that I managed to learn much English, and again in Starlight Academy. They are very... Gracious?" She asked, not sure if that was the correct word "No, generous. They have offered me an English language learning."

Adeloise hummed and nodded when Olive echoed her query, followed by a quiet gasp as the little fae replied. "Italy! Vunderbar! That doesn't seem to far from my hometown! I'm from Germany, myself. The school's really nice. They teach a bunch of useful stuff here, right? I've been learning English since I was 6 so most of my accent is gone but sometimes I just forget stuff and then suddenly it comes back like a train that won't stop." Adeloise giggled, somehow managing to speak in her almost neutral speech. If she didn't stop to breath, Olive would have heard how her tongue seemed to curl back the longer she kept talking.

Her expression seemed to turn thoughtful for a moment, considering a thought. "About those foreigners though... do you mean like... your trees as in your homes? Did they know you were there when they took down your trees?" she asked curiously, though it wasn't hard to miss how rueful her expression looked. Being driven away from homes sounded terrible just from stories; she didn't know how it would be like to be the one in that situation...

It was the tiny Fae's turn to gasp as Adeloise revealed she wasn't, in fact, from this huge island and instead from a place not too far from home... "You come from Germany! I have a cousin that has come from Germany!" Olive exclaimed, smiling from ear to ear. She was lucky today. Not only had she met a new friend, that friend came from somewhere not far from her home! "Yes, the school is good for teaching of speaking - i know lots of English now, more than i used to. Do you ever have a moment where you cannot find the word in English so you have to say it in your language?" She grinned, herself getting lost in thought.
She remembered Papa always speaking fluent Italian and lots of English, more than she would ever know. And Mama, while she spoke both languages too, she didn't do as good... And then her thoughts turned once again to home. To her family. Was the olive grove they had found now safe, or had it been taken down by those mean foreigners with those lazy, slipping accents?
Olive snapped back to Adeloise's question. "Well, the foreigners.. yes. We needed to move a lot of times when they cut down our homes and almost stepped on us. We Castelli had escaped the first and second, but hid good on the third. Castelli are good hiders." Olive obviously seemed proud of that fact, and yet.. almost regretful?

Adeloise had to control herself from gushing too much. A cousin close to home!! She'd settled with a contained squee and a slight bounce as she clapped softly. "Oh, gosh that's amazing! We'd been so close proximities with each other! Have you ever visited Germany then?" Now if Adeloise hadn't considered that it might have been another small fae like Olive, she'd have asked if they had met. Thing is, Adeloise hadn't really met fae as far as she was aware. She was more in touch with spirits of those who passed away but haven't passed on. She would dare say more than half of friends are actually already dead -- mostly because she'd met them dead.

"The school's been great with reviewing for my English lessons but I'd say I'm a bit ahead of the class half the time," she claimed casually. "But yes! I do that sometimes. English is sometimes so... inadequate. Like... they don't have a word for some things! English doesn't have a word for geborgenheit; can you even believe that?" It was one of the few things she wondered about every other day -- most of the time it was what spirits do when no one could see. Distracted by her own thoughts of amusement, she didn't seem to notice Olive getting lost in her own memories until after the fae had spoken again.

Adeloise couldn't really seem to smile with Olive -- it was not as proud. She was... happy for her? That they'd manage to escape whatever dark fate they could have gotten themselves in by being found but it didn't sound so fulfilling to think about. Raised as a Wagner, they were the confrontational type. Her father always urged her to face anyone who tried to do her bad. (For the record, she hadn't done so well on that -- her mother always said she was more of a Dionne at the end of the day.) She forced a smile on her, "I'm glad your family managed to get away," she said, masking the trickles of pity from showing. "It must have been such a terrible time for you, having to leave your home like that. That's so unfair."

The tiny Fae stopped, thoughtful. Had she in fact, been to Germany? She tried to think. Big trees... people speaking in a language - well, german, she guessed. Hmmm....
A memory popped up into her head - that one summer near Aunt Mariana's home. They had had to walk a very long way to get there, and the sights and the smells were so different.... Yes, Olive decided. This was Germany. Probably. Or... maybe it was a part of the Ticino she didn't know. She shrugged. "I think so? Am not sure." She couldn't remember it all that well. "I do remember going to meriggiare as a child. The trees were big and people spoke weirdly!" Meriggiare was also a word that didn't have a word in English - one of the prettier ones, Olive liked to think.."There are always big trees and sunshine, most of the time, when we move. Very pretty!" She didn't mention any more of her story - based on Adeloise's reaction she felt pity, and that made her worry about her parents again, and then.... It was a cycle, she thought. A long cycle.

Adeloise was patient and waited for Olive to reply. She looked very thoughtful but by Adeloise's guess based on how long it was taking her, she was starting to think Olive hasn't been anywhere close by home. Travel seemed more difficult for their little size when she thought about it. "Mhm, that's alright! It's still nice to know you've had relatives where I'm from. I don't hear Italian much it might sound just as weird as how German sounds to you," she giggled. She at least knew French other than English, but that was because she had immediate relatives from France through her mother. Italian... not so much.

Adeloise didn't seem to catch on why Olive wouldn't have said anything more, but she caught on how that part of the conversation was over. Her train of thought was ready to move on either way.

She made a prelude hum, almost thoughtful before she spoke. "Oh hey, I was planning to go to this cake shop later, do you want to go with me? We can talk about more stuff -- oh and I kind of want to tell you more about Adrien! He's really funny and he has great stories!"

Olive nodded, her hair bouncing with the movement. Aunt Mariana was always so nice. "I do know German sounds weird in the ears," she laughed, pushing herself onto her feet and getting up. A lithe little motion. "I think it is.... uhm... culture shake?" No, hold on. That wasn't it. "Culture.... Culture shook." It sounded off still. Oh well - it was an English word anyway. Close enough. "It's that, that makes it to weird to hear other talking." Although, she had to admit, German did sound really pretty.
As did the mention of cake shops. And sweets! Olive smiled. "That would be fun! And tasty!" More laughter. "I would love to come and hear stories! Adrien sounds like a funny ghost. And fun!" Though there would be a lot of people there.. tall people... Oh, but she could always stick to Adeloise... Right? Hopefully so.
