Name: Corvo Wintergreen
Age: He old
Birthday: unknown
Gender: Male
Species: Greed Demon
Category: Citizen
Career: Owner of Gilded Blades
Appearance Description: Corvo stands at 6'2” and generally speaking is a well dressed man. His hair upon close inspection are closer to feathers than normal hair. He sports a set of pointed ears, gold claws, and fangs. As a result, he's often mistaken for a vampire and in some rare cases, an elf or fae. That being said, Corvo is in fact as demonic as he'll ever appear. Like some, he simply chooses to remain in his true form.
Personality Description: Eccentric and somewhat terrifying may be the best words to describe Corvo. He's a man who in spite of his sin is content with the corner he's carved himself on Manta Carlos. He knows what he wants and knows just what he needs to do to get it. And he carries out his plans with ruthless efficiency. Unlike the previous prominent greed demon on the island, Corvo is intent on running any business venture he delves into in a legal fashion. He's very much all about fair play. On a similar note he's also intent on clearing up the black mark left on greed demons as sketchy businessmen. At least once a week he performs as the MC and announcer at his arena. His commentary has a knack for drumming up crowd hype as well as pumping up the contestants themselves.
When not conducting business Corvo enjoys spending time mingling with other island residents. He's actually a huge fan of community events and contributes where he can.
Active Abilities:
Pay to win: Corvo can grant people the “means” to do a task in direct proportion to money or monetary value of something he's given. In short, a person is buying luck. This doesn't guarantee success in any way, there will always be a chance of failure regardless however, paying more can greatly increase chances of success. The less you pay, the smaller the window of success is, but the consequences won't be as severe if the person loses. Failure after paying a large sum of money means that your loss will at best be very humiliating.
-People can also pay Corvo for increased physical ability. For every fifty dollars a person's physical abilities increase by one quarter for twenty minutes. Paying another fifty dollars raises you up another twenty-five percent, thus bringing them up to fifty, however the time only extends five minutes. In other words, Everything stacks, however the time increased is reduced.
-Corvo can also spend his own money to grant himself any of these abilities, however someone must be willing to accept his money. In regards to buying luck, he has to also perform a small favor for the person accepting his money as well
-All money paid to him goes directly to his father.
True name: Corvo does have a true name(Plutus) which if invoked effectively draws out his father's aspect to its fullest extent and compels him to grant the invoker a wish. To activate this, the Plutus must be said in direct reference to Corvo, within proximity of Corvo. Said in a public area, no one but Corvo will hear the name, or the conversation that follows, which is conducted in a sort of frozen space. If questioned about his true name Corvo will be compelled to give three hints:
“It is my true name, but I am not truly him”
“It's closer than you think”
“After you eat supper, but before you fall into a rage”
In exchange for this wish, the sliver of Mammon requests to hear the story that brought about the need to ask him for a wish. The story must be told completely and truthfully in order for the wish to be granted. A person also cannot wish to tell others his true name. Regardless, of success or failure the individual will forget the name in relation to Corvo. If the person was truthful, Corvo will forget their tale and they will have their wish granted. Corvo only remembers incomplete or dishonest stories. Those individuals are regarded with disdain.
Stymphalian Murder: Corvo can split into ten ravens all of whom share golden beaks, gold tipped feathers, and talons. The golden areas on his body are all sharp, and able to slice steel. In this form, Corvo can spread himself out over a ten mile radius. The further away the crows become the weaker their strength is in proportion. Flying out of range causes that particular crow to disappear. And its energy disperses to the others. Likewise “killing” or destroying any of these also has the same effects until there’s only one left. From there, he returns to his human form and cannot split himself again for several hours.
Passive Abilities:
Physique: Physically speaking, Corvo sits at peak human ability. His gold claws are supernatural in nature and capable of shredding steel. He also sports naturally elongated canines. Corvo can mimic other people's voices.
Corvo can detect other Hellions via sight.
Resisting mind: Due to being linked with his father as he is, Corvo's mind cannot be tampered with or influenced by anyone other than his father.
Weaknesses:
Corvo isn't like other demons, his weaknesses are particularly unique. He has no weaknesses to holy symbols. Corvo is instead weak to iron in manners similar to fae. Contact with it burns his skin, and if will prove fatal if put into the bloodstream. While he can eat it on his food, salt used with the intention of warding him will actually work, causing him pain and repelling him. He is still susceptible to magic. Destroying his heart or brain outright will kill him.
Resources: His connection to his father gives him a vast wealth pool. Runs the Gilded Blades Arena. Being an older demon means he has lots of connections.
Biography: Corvo Wintergreen has existed for a very long time. He wasn't the first of Mammon's children, but he was among the earliest of them. Corvo is actually a small sliver of Mammon that was placed into a statue and thus given life. He has a natural connection to his father and effectively functions to a lesser degree as his eyes on Earth.
He's known about Manta Carlos for some time, and by the time he arrived other demons from his hell were also arriving. Naturally, Corvo went about laying the groundwork to setting up his business on the island. It was during this period that he met a certain sibling of his. He tried working with them, but wound up being betrayed, sealed in a box, and dropped deep into the ocean. He'd spend the next few years in a cycle of constant drowning and rebirth, but not in hell. He respawned in the box. This cycle repeated itself until some sea dwelling being broke him free, allowing him to drown one final time before going to hell. From there, his father restored hid mind and punished his brother in a much worse way. He's since returned to Manta Carlos to start fresh.
