Name: Cordula Messer
Age: 14 years
Birthday: December 10th, 2002
Gender: Female
Species: Half-giant
Class: High School
Grade: 10th Grade
Appearance Description: Cordula stands about 8’10” with pale skin over a heavy muscular frame, unruly mess of thick straight black hair framing a blocky face with expressive green eyes and large nose. She is covered with many tattoos and scars of various kinds, often going for sleeveless shirts and fingerless gloves paired with thick pants and heavy boots. She only wears the student uniform when it is required, much preferring her usual outfits. Another notable visual habit of hers is to carry a lot of things with her, as much as her pockets and other storage spaces will allow.
Personality Description: Something of a quiet type, Cordula generally keeps to herself unless something catches her interest. She much prefers to sit by herself reading, writing, or drawing- or, in order to maintain the physical condition of her body, going out jogging, surfing, or doing parkour/freerunning. To engage her, the best thing to do is get her curious- once she wants to know something she rarely ever backs down until she’s found the information out. She is not very good at sharing information in turn however, often having challenges expressing what she wants to say verbally. It’s for that reason she prefers addressing other people through actions or writing than verbal communication. If all else fails, joining her in an activity she enjoys will usually get her interested in the person.
She takes a long time to earn the trust of. Once befriended, however, Cordula is extremely loyal to that person. She does not take well to even perceived breahes of that trust however, and once seemingly betrayed she will never trust that person quite a again and tends to hold a nasty grudge. She is also very easily distracted when something is not actually catching her interest, and can consequently can often be found doodling or dozing off in mathematics class.
Powers: Cordula is able to turn into ink and transfer herself to any surface which supports ink as an art medium. She cannot transform into ink without transferring herself to such a surface which she must be touching at the time, but she may move between surfaces so long as they are touching- and other people’s skin counts as a viable surface. She rarely ever uses her ability on another person because of the pain involved when she moves across their skin however, as if the person were being rapidly tattooed. Best of all she may control her shape whilst in ink form, assuming any two dimensional shape that she has enough ink for. However, she cannot absorb any pigment on the page or other surface permanantly, merely moving it around whilst she is in direct contact with it.
Species Abilities: General increased strength and durability, The downsides, however, are that she requires much more food than usual to sustain herself- and often has trouble finding clothes in her size.
Biography: Born on the main island to her highly protective giant mother Agatha and her distant yet encouraging superscientist father Lorenz, Cordula has only ever heard of the outside world and has spent much of her time alone or with her parents. The two thought they couldn’t have children until Lorenz was able to combine their genetics successfully and grow the baby in a carefully controlled growth tank, and consequently Cordula was spoiled with attention and material possessions from the moment she was born. Even her eventual diagnosis of high-functioning autism didn’t bother them much, and it was only when Lorenz was teaching her how to draw circuit blueprints that her magical ability presented itself when she was around 10.
She was quickly sent to the academy, and had a rather long adjustment period. There were so many new faces she was quite overwhelmed, selective mutism beginning to take it’s grip then when she’d previously been quite loud and vocal. She intentionally isolated herself save for a few close friends she made early on, and has been doing her own thing over in the corners of the classrooms ever since.
Additional Information: Her being so quiet, I wouldn’t be surprised if many people assumed she was actually mute. Feel free to interpret that as you wish in regards to your character’s reactions.
