Shey had to admit that she wasn't sure how she was going to compose her self. Pun intended. She's getting there though.
"A movie and a dinner...O-okay!", she smiled cheerfully Maybe this wouldn't be so bad...
She smelled a very faint scent of something burning. Shey thought it was her imagination, but when Ling went and took the chicken out of the oven, she knew immediately what it was. Ling had apologized briefly before holding her hand.
"Daaaamn you have a good nose. I thought that was my imagination I was smelling something burning haha...And it still looks good! No obviously burnt bits. Don't worry about it.", she said as she stood up straight and grabbed a mini spatula off the counter and moving the chicken onto a glass plate. Shey placed said plate on the table and poured the barbecue sauce she had made onto the chicken. Not smothering it, just lightly covering it. Normally she would put the sauce onto the chicken
before putting the chicken in the oven but sometimes room temperature stuff tastes good. She's weird like that.
"Mhm! Y-yeah we can plan our date once we have eaten, or we can just start talking about it while we are if you w-want."
It sucked that Shey had still stuttered. She should really calm down a little. It was kind of justified though, she was definitely nervous. She's dealt with intimate things before, but not of the good kind. Shey had a hard time remembering it at that point, but she had still tried to avoid thinking about it. Hopefully the slight worry wasn't evident on her face because of the probably obvious nervousness.
"Thank you for joining me in cooking dinner. And for being here in general. It's nice to have some company." She was kind of repeating what Ling had said to her, but it was the truth. She was grateful.
