There was another one.
Another awakened with an avatar. Aurora had been able to feel it ever since she arrived. Everyone at the school had some sort of magical ability of sorts, but it was very, very different from those mages that practiced theirs around the nine spheres. Strangely, paradox didn't seem to care much. There were others like her, and while the paradigm different, everyone believed in the existence of the supernatural, leaving her own abilities unbounded.
In an ironic sense, she wasn't protecting the students, they were protecting her.
Aurora chuckled to herself slightly at the notion. A master being protected by the very students she sought to teach. An awkward relationship, but a helpful and symbiotic one at that.
Unfortunately, she had been unable to locate the human, or otherwise, that had the avatar. At least without using her own magic. It was something she considered, but intended on holding off on until the time was right. If it was ever. Avatars were powerful beings in their own right, and locating them could occasionally be somewhat difficult...kind of like being blinded by an aura. Not the best analogy, but it was accurate enough.
Without a lead, Thirteen stopped half way up the staircase and looked down in some form of wonder and amazement. It was still difficult to believe a place like this worked, but here it was in all its glory. And then what were classes going to be like?
Lots of questions, very few answers. A shame really...but then again, fate liked keeping its surprises.
She kept some of her own after all.
