Aeon stretched as she always did before she fought.

Her arms first, stretching and then relaxing the tendons in her wrists, stretching them above her head to feel her shoulders pop and her muscles stretch. Then, after widening the space between her legs, she went down down, bending forward at the waist enough to rest her forearms on the ground. Which left her in a somewhat compromising position, considering she was wearing biker shorts and a compression top. She could hear a guy wolf whistle. She'd break his teeth later.

Slowly she pushed herself up to her full height, lunging left and then right, bounced a few times and then shook herself loose. Her body felt warm enough. She'd jogged here to get a good heat going, and she felt like she was in good form tonight.

Tonight, Aeon was feeling lucky.

She wrapped her hands tightly to keep her hands safe and walked up to the ring. She simply bounced in place, waiting for someone to join her there.

Being part of a species that generally preaches keeping the peace, Kenshin was glad he would have the chance to fight. He always went to the fight classes back in Japan to compensate for this, and he thought he wouldn't be able to do this upon moving to Manta Carlos. But there was this fight club. Here he was, and he was going to make the best of it.

After doing some stretches somewhere in the crowd, he moved to the ring to face his opponent. He was in his human form, of course, as were a lot of people here. He was warmed up and ready to go.

Aeon bounced in place impassively until someone got in the ring. For a moment she was somewhat nervous--although she was confident in her skills, she didn't know how well she could take some of these guys who were so ripped they took up as much space as a forklift--like her dad, in that regard, she realized--but when she say the person in the ring was the same height as her, she let herself relax a little.

Then she tensed right back up, because some people had super strength, and although powers weren't allowed in these low-level fights, there wasn't really a way to turn super strength off.

The unicorn stopped bouncing and got into a bit of a stance, legs wide, body lowered, hands out in fists, turned ever so slightly to decrease the amount of her that faced her opponent.

She took the initiative and moved in quickly, going for the Kenshin's face with a left straight.

Almost as soon as the two were able to size each other up, his opponent rushed in to attack. He quickly assumed a stance of his own, with knees slightly bent and body turned in such a way that more of his right side was facing her than his left. He blocked her left straight, sending her arm outwards before going for a left straight of his own, right to the face. He only used about three quarters of his full power, as he didn't know how much damage he'd dish out, with his Kirin heritage granting him above average strength.

Aeon had figured that her simple punch would be deflected somehow. The unicorn was still sizing up her opponent, figuring out how long his reach was for punching. Given their differences in gender and height (although minor) she would guess that his reach was longer than hers.

And she was right.

When she moved in to punch, his fist was easily able to reach her. She moved back and to the side, raising her right hand to block if she wasn't able to fully compensate. But she was, and now she had a good grasp of how far she had to back up to avoid a punch.

She went in again, this time swinging faster and tighter in alternating left and right hooks.

His opponent's sudden increase in speed threw Kenshin off somewhat. He figured that she wouldn't go all out at first; as a result he should have taken more care to focus on his opponent rather than his own punches. But he didn't, and while he did manage to block her attacks, it was out of delayed reflex. It would only be only a matter of time before he either caught up with or became overwhelmed by her flurry of attacks.

Thankfully it was the latter; He managed to regain his senses in full and jump back diagonally in order to even out the playing field, if only briefly.

Aeon watched as her attacks were deflected, just off proper tempo. He was reacting late, she could tell. She didn't know if this meant that she was faster than him, but she did know that it meant that right now she had the initiative. Once his reflexes adjusted to her speed, she couldn't vouch for her ability to be able to win anymore.

So when he backed away, Aeon chased him, following his footwork so she was near him again. Her punches were no longer hooks. Instead she fell back on a flurry of jabs towards his stomach.
