"Why is she such a bitch? Shouldn't you like who you work with?" She inquired, tilting her head slightly. She shifted her weight as her waffles were placed in front of her, studying the male across from her...

"Movies? I enjoy horror flicks, and mysteries..." She tilted her head, "Favorite holiday? Mine's Samhain." She sipped some of her coffee - as one of the wait-staff had brought it from her original table to the one she now sat at.

"Well, let's just say she doesn't know how to grade her own papers, and relies on me to get any and all paperwork done" Evander said, calmly flipping another card over and adding it to his growing row of spades. As he took a sip of his fresh coffee, he only raised an eyebrow at the female in front of him.

"Personally, I prefer comedy movies," he muttered as he set his drink down, licking an idle drop of coffee from his beak as he formed his next statement, "As far as holidays go, I prefer Christmas, if only because I don't have to see her for two weeks."

"Really? I thought teachers graded their own papers..." She tsked lightly, shaking her head. "Maybe she has her reasons for being unable?" She offered, lightly.

When he mentioned comedy, she shrugged lightly. "I enjoy Rocky Horror, parodies of horror movies... sometimes comedy is okay, but not everyday." She shrugged and stated, "Yule is all right, but my mother comes around and she is quite a pain in the ass."

Evander shook his head as Vivienne proposed the thought that Melivere actually had a reason for not grading her own papers.

"No, she has no reason at all. She lives in some deluded fantasy land where she is a queen and I'm her ever obedient servant. As if...." the gryphon said, his talons digging into the table top as he shook with all of his suppressed frustrations.

"And she doesn't even give a word of gratitude for my help. Countless nights I've stayed up until four or five in the morning, grading all of the papers she shoves off on me because she has no idea how to do it herself. When I became an assistant at the academy, I expected to help with practical demonstrations and perhaps grade a few papers every night to ease the teacher's workload, not to have to come home to a mountain of paperwork every night and only get three hours of sleep before going back up to the academy at eight every morning!"

Evander looked down at the table for a moment and stared for a while at the gouges his talons had dug into the wood. A long sigh rolled out of his beak...

"I apologize for that. Perhaps we should move on to a different topic, Ms. Whitefeather?"
