Lucy was grumbling to herself as she was walking ever so slowly to a coffee shop. She was done her college classes for the day, wanting to get herself a little treat due to her hard work. She was a fitness nut, if that was even truly a thing. Having ran 2 miles that very morning before school, she needed a little pick me up. Her body and mind was tired. Once she eventually got to her destination, the smell of coffee beans helped her mind go to ease. It was so sweet to her, the smell of her life, in a way. Not that it revolved around it, but she was a person that continuously kept going. It may have been unhealthy, but in her mind sleep only slowed you down. Her strong hands pushed open the door, before she sighed as she took a breath in and out. She could relax now, it seemed.

The loud THUD of a ceramic mug, steaming at the top and all, awoke the poor student with a start. The smell... Freshly brewed coffee. Dark, by the look of it - one of his least favorite types. What had he been doing? Oh yeah - he had been studying on the properties of fire magic. Right. He looked up at the waitress from his ridiculously big textbook and smiled sheepishly. "Heh... Sorry there. How much for this round of coffee?"
The waitress looked at him skeptically, as if to ask just how many coffees Nix had had today. She received a shrug in reply. "I, uh... Is there any way that I could get some cream or something in here?" He pointed at the coffee.
After a few seconds of a patented "Blank Stare", Nix decided. "Y'know what, I'll just do it myself. Gotta move around, y'know? I'll uh, just be over here..."
He got up, stretching, then took his coffee and headed to the creamer station.

Lucy took a sweeping look around the store, getting a feel for who she didn't want to talk to. There was a cute couple in the corner, getting all touchy felt with their hands enlaced across the table. It was cute, but not for her right now. There were a few people that we're just minding their own business, too. She stretched, rolling her shoulders back and cracking her knuckles before deciding to order something. What was she going to have today? The girl flipped her hair back behind her, before going into line. She gave a few people smirks, to which most of them flushed and turned back to whoever they had been with, if not alone. She'd just broken up with her girlfriend, so she was on the prowl, you could say.

The creamer station. Which, ironically, didn't have any creamers - just a butt-ton of stir sticks. Nix sighed in frustration as he grasped quite literally at the straws. "Guess I'll have to go to the counter. Huh, maybe I can even meet some people." Despite knowing a few from the park, he really didn't know many people. Well, he rationalized, maybe that was because he was new on the island. Keeping this in mind, he chuckled at himself and walked over to the line, hoping to get himself some cream for the coffee. Oh, hold on - he wasn't missing any classes, was he?! HE yanked his phone out of his pocket, and, after a few swipes and a relieved sigh, he was sure it was Saturday. No classes today. And - "OOF!"
Ah, shit.
Nix had just bumped into who he presumed was one of she shop-goers, a girl. She looked like a fitness nut - pretty strong, to say the least. And, to say the least, although he'd never show it consciously, he was just a little intimidated.
"Well, uh. Hey. Um. Sorry, but I think I just bumped into a movie star." Nice save, Nix, he thought to himself. Surely she couldn't be mad at him now?

It was a bit boring that most people thought that she would crush someone rather than kiss them. She liked the latter a lot more, but rarely got to do it anymore. With her being busy and the thought of others being scared of her, it didn't leave much room for dating. It seemed though, that her wishes were answered when someone bumped into her. She stared at them, eyeing them up and down. "Hm, why thank you." Lucy smiled, happy with the compliment. "And you are rather handsome, Mr. Bumpy." She raised her hand and trailed it from his cheek down to the bottom of his chin, lifting it up. "Sadly the big screen isn't were I am, sweetie."

Damn. This chick was well-versed in flirt. He chuckled, playing off her vibe, and giving her a sly little smirk. "Must be where you came from, then," he replied suavely. Now that he had an idea of what the girl was like, he grinned and lost all - well, most - of his awkwardness. "Nix is the name. I uh, don't know yours, but i'd be delighted to." If he was being honest, the girl in front of him WAS quite attractive, if intimidating.

Her hand moved away, surprised he didn't get flustered. "Haha, maybe." He was cute, like some little brother or something. Of course Lucy looked at him differently, but it was still interesting. "Nix, cute." She smirked proudly, wanting him to know that she was the one in charge. "Name's Lucy. Lucy Willright. I like fitness if you couldn't tell. Thankfully I mostly do it as a hobby and passion that a driving force for my life." She took his hand and pulled him close to her. "Want to be my line buddy?"

"Lucy, huh? Cute." He meant it. Lucy... Kind of sounded like Li. A girl he knew, from classes back home. He shook his head gently. "Fitness. Heh. My passion... Coffee. And uh, being funny. Hopefully i'm getting my goal. Anyways, uh." It took Nix a moment to register her request. Of course he'd be a line buddy. "Yeah, sure. I'll be your line buddy." A cheeky smile replaced the smirk. "Hey, if I steal a cup, is that considered theft or - mugging?"

"Coffee is another big part of my life, but starting off with that seems less believable." She smirked, wrapping an arm around his shoulders as he talked. Hopefully that was just the right amount of discomfort and affection. Lucy chuckled lightly at his joke, thinking it was cute. "Well well well, aren't you the funny one." Lucy wasn't sure what to make of him, as she was a secret sucker for cheesy jokes. "That was super cute you know, I liked it. And I would suppose either."

"Well aren't you sweet," he smirked. Already he had this girl wrapping her arm around her? He must be really funny. Or really handsome. Or just stupid and reading too much into it. "Hey, uh. Whatcha getting?" he asked, grinning. His plan? Simple. Buy her stuff for her, sit down, talk a little - and bam! - friendship made. Either that, or make a fool of himself and get played for more drinks in the future. Somehow he could always see the downside - Uh, no. Not today. He wasn't gonna get all depressed and stuff now. Not this morning. Not today. He put on a playful smirk and gestured to a table. "And uh, you in a rush?"
