Shay was a bundle of nerves going to Yura's club. She told herself she just wanted information, or to see the competition, but that wasn't true. Shay wanted.... well, she didn't know exactly what she wanted. She'd dressed up cute and walked into Club Gambit as if she'd been there a hundred times before. She was surprised she'd even been allowed in. Had Yura informed her workers that she was expecting Eroshay Rosales?

Entering the club, Shay looked to the bartender, wondering if she would be told where to go, maybe served an alcoholic beverage to help with her nerves.

"It's Shay. Yura is expecting me," she said, glancing around for a door that might have led to an office, or to find Yura somewhere among the patrons.

Behind the bar, Bunny flitted back and forth between customers in her sexy little Alice in Wonderland themed costume—she was the white rabbit, of course.

Bunny paused in front of Shay, blinked a moment. She knew to expect Shay, but it was still weird to see someone so young in the club. The fact she was a Rosales kid was pretty weird too. Yura generally stayed out of Rosales affairs. But, Bunny wasn’t there to question Yura. She wasn’t about to serve an underage kid alcohol, even though it looked like Shay was certainly thinking about it—but she would direct Shay to Yura, even if she couldn’t rally fathom why Yura wanted to see the young girl.

The busty, pink-haired woman flashed a bright smile to Shay. “Of course! Ms. Bengall is in her office.”

Bunny came around the bar, leaving it in the care of a very tall dragon woman momentarily as she took Shay and guided her to Yura’s office. She knocked on the door, and then opened it and poked her head in.

“Shay is here to see you,” Bunny said, before opening the door wider and gesturing for Shay to go inside.

Yura’s office was really only about half an office, while the other half was more like a lounge with a few comfortable couches and small tables. The room was dimly lit, with a few fish tanks along the wall giving off a soft blue hue. Across the room was the ‘business side’, where Yura sat at her desk.

“Hello, Shay,” Yura said, not even looking up from her paperwork. “I’ll be with you in just a moment.”

Shay nodded awkwardly, trying not to stare at any one thing too long. This all felt wrong and sick. Had her skin crawling. Shay didn't know exactly what she was expecting, maybe just a different point of view. Maybe a feel for this green-haired woman.

Once led to the office, Shay lingered in the center, mouth in a straight line when Yura didn't even bother to look up. Shay wondered if it was just because Yura was busy, or if it was a power play and really, Shay wasn't experienced enough to tell the difference.

What Eroshay did know was that she was uncomfortable with powerful people. They didn't like her much; she'd noticed, and she didn't play their same games. It was usually an explosive situation waiting to happen.

Silently, Shay went to one of the couches and reclined, staring up at the ceiling and fantasizing about normal enough teenage things.

Whatever the paperwork was that simply couldn’t wait, it seemed to involve just Yura scrawling her signature over and over on every sheet. She whipped through it quick enough, gathered all the papers together, and placed them in a drawer of her desk which she locked up. With that business out of the way, Yura stood up from her desk and approached Shay.

She looked the younger girl up and down, a smirk forming across her lips.

“My, don’t you look cute,” Yura said as she approached, leaning forward and sliding some of Shay’s hair between her fingers. But her eyes never left Shay’s as she did so.

“And you are growing your hair out? How nice.”

Then she stepped back, returning to a comfortable distance.

“So…did you want to stay here, or go somewhere else?” Yura asked, running a hand through her own wavy hair. Would the young girl feel comfortable staying on Yura's territory, or would she prefer to be on neutral ground, Yura wondered...

Shay didn't appreciate it when she felt like prey. She was a predator, small and inconsequential seeming, but one no less. She had claws and teeth that were still forming, but once grown were going to shred people apart. She liked the feeling even less when it was some adult creeping on her. Shay never knew if people like Yura wanted to hurt her or fuck her, but both had her skin crawling.

Shay kept eye contact, something guarded in her gaze and a tenseness to her muscle that suggested preparation for something bad to come. She didn't stop Yura from twirling a lock of her hair, but the chilled expression she'd donned since entering the room didn't lighten any with the physical contact.

Briefly, Shay wondered what someone like Klaus, Vito, or Gabriel would do in this situation, but she foud it didn't matter. Shay had never played by the same rules as other predators and she wasn't about to start now. She took a minute to think about her options, already leaning for one, but it didn't show on her face.

"Here is fine. I already spent the time coming up here, didn't I?" She was a fraction of a second away from saying she'd wasted the time because that's what it would have felt like had they moved on, a fucking waste.

It appeared to Shay that no matter her answer, Yura had the power. Either they stayed here, on her turf, or they went elsewhere, on her order.

Yura watched Shay’s expression as she touched her hair and just a little bit too close, as well as when she drew back. A defiant girl, but still so, so young. So much to learn. Yura found herself thinking of when she was that age. She had only just joined the gang that she would eventually come to lead. That felt like a fucking eternity ago. But, maybe she saw a bit of herself in Shay--well, not Yura, but Guan Zhi.

They were both her, but they were both two separate people as far as Yura was concerned.

“Fair enough.”

Yura turned then, taking a seat across from Shay. She crossed her legs, leaning back against the couch as she pulled off her glasses and starting wiping them off with a cloth.

“So, you have questions,” Yura said as she put her glasses back on, giving Shay a pointed stare.

“What do you want to know?”

Straight to the point, when she was done being a fucking creep. Shay liked that. She could respect it, even if she was still uncertain whether she respecgted Yura or not.

Shay sat taller, meeting Yura's stare without flinching. She frequently stood up to Klaus and Vito and either of them were way scarier than Yura could even imagine being.

"Yup. About Gabriel Baltimore. Like my texts said. What do you know about him? I mean, being in competition with his club must mean you've had some interesting interactions with him, no?"
