Early afternoon, after spending all night and into the early morning training, after getting no sleep you figure someone would be tired, or at least not wandering aimlessly. Certainly they wouldn't be looking for a secluded area in which to train yet again. Then again, the pink haired lass often didn't do what was expected of her. And so, not wanting a repeat of the morning before since she hadn't been able to complete the most difficult part of her training, Ace was wandering through rather dusty halls.

She didn't need the equipment of the gym, only privacy and quiet, which is why the round room she now entered at the top of what seemed to be an abandoned tower, was perfect. Sunlight streamed through the cobweb filled window, dust particles visibly dancing in the light. Despite the sun, the room was quite chilly, but that didn't stop Ace from taking off first a dark green hoodie, then a loose black long-sleeved shirt, leaving her in a tight gray tank top. Slipping off her shoes, and placing them beside her folded articles of clothing, she then slipped off her large gray sweat pants, her pale legs now only clad in a pair of black shorts and ankle length white socks.

Her actions were slow as she reached up to tie her curled locks into a bobby pony-tail, exhaling as her arms lowered. She didn't bother to stretch, she wouldn't need to for what she was bout to do. Although Ace disliked using her bone manipulation, she forced herself to at least once a week, disliking the thought of not being in control of her body in any way. Closing her eyes, she inhaled, and as she did so reached within herself. Slowly she began to regenerate her shin, her face barely showing the discomfort as she did so. It was when she began to push the bone from her skin, that she allowed a soft sound of pain to escape her lips.

Grasping the hilt of the bone sword, she pulled it from her skin, breathing heavily once it was free. Immediately the wound beneath her knee closed, only a purple bruise left behind. Inspecting the short sword of bone before her, Ace let out a sigh, wiping the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. Laying it beside her neatly folded clothes, she folded her tank top up, revealing her pale stomach, and the tip of the black wings extending from the waistband of her shorts. Closing her eyes once more, she inhaled, concentrating of one of her ribs. Slowly, it began to protrude from her skin...

Laken let out a sigh.
crud...
The girl hadn't noticed him. Of course how could she, normally people didn't check outside of windows to find a young man sitting lazily on the window pane.
He was going to go about his day staring into the sky, and allow the young woman to continue...whatever it was she was doing...
bone...removal...
yuck.
Oh well, in this school you had to expect anything.
But then she pulled up her shirt.
double crud...
Excuse me, young miss, you might want to put your shirt back down for a moment, while I make my departure.
he said letting his leg dangle down in front of the window so that she would know where the voice was coming from.
He dare not look inside the room, he wasn't quite sure WHY her top was up,
but he also didn't care to find out...

At the sound of an unexpected voice, Ace lost her concentration, her controlled pace was also lost, the rib shooting from her skin and smashing though the window, glass shattering into many pieces. This time her sound of pain was much louder, one of her hands flew to her bare stomach, to cover the jagged hole taking much longer to close over than the one beneath her knee had. When it did, the bruise left behind was a yellowish purple, tender as she moved the tight fabric to cover it.

"I'm decent Sparky," her lightly accented tone was strained, her heavy breathing making the short sentence longer than it normally would've been. It was slightly odd to be addressing a leg, but then again she did just have a bone shoot from her body.

Laken heard her sound of pain and moved his leg up quickly.
wow, the rib could have gone straight through my leg...
Then he heard her labored breathing.
Oh man...I hope I didn't kill her...
Laken grabbed hold of the window with his hands and quickly flung off the pane into the room landing on the broken glass making it crack, thankfully he was wearing shoes.
I'm sorry, are you okay? he asked walking towards her, but staying far enough away that she could be comfortable.
I always mess things up, I don't know what she was doing, but it sounded like I nearly killed her...
Do you need to be taken to the nurse? he asked, a bit of concern flashed across his eyes but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable so he quickly repressed it, instead taking a nonchalant stance in front of her, waiting for her reply.

Ace waved off his concern with a short jerky motion of her head, a forced grin claiming her lips.
"I'm fine," her breathing was back at a regulated pace, though it still sounded as though she were having some difficulty getting her words out. Taking a step back, she froze, keeping her features neutral, before moving to where her clothes were folded. Momentarily ignoring his presence, she pulled on her sweatpants and long sleeved shirt, leaving off her hoodie since her hairline was still damp with sweat. Sitting, she quickly peeled off her now bloody sock, inspecting the bottom of her foot, where one of the larger pieces of glass was now embedded in her skin.

"So what brings you to random tower windows?" she questioned curiously, as if the fact that she weren't currently poking around at a bloody foot wasn't odd in the slightest bit. Ace looked up with a quirked pink brow, awaiting his response before she would inspect her foot again.

He noticed her jerky movement, and froze in fear, his stomach dropped.
Oh no...
please...
just don't tell me...

He looked away trying to regain his composure as she pulled on her pants and shirt, then she sat down and pulled off her sock.
His face flushed.
Her BLOODY sock.
Oh great... he said sarcastically as his stomach did a flip and his willed his breakfast to STAY DOWN!
Of all the gross things in the world...
of ANYTHING in the world...
blood had to be the one to turn my stomach.
Burns I can handle, had plenty of them.
Other body fluids, spit, vomit, I can handle those.
But BLOOD...oh...man...

He stomach did another flip as she began digging at the wound for the shards...
DOES SHE HAVE TO DIG AT IT SO CASUALLY?!
He shook his head as she asked him the question.
Uh...relaxation...quiet...freedom. Take your pick.
Are you sure you...don't want to see a nurse NOW?

He looked away for a moment smoothing down his hair.
I'm sorry, you must think I'm very uncapable, after all I AM the reason your foot is hurt now, I should be at the very least able to help you. he said, still unable to look at her foot.

"No, I've got it," she responded, slightly distracted as she finally picked out the piece of glass. It was about an inch in length, up to 4 centimeters wide, and three fourths of it was covered in her crimson blood. She began to hold it up, before she noted his expression, then she quickly flung it behind her back, sock quickly following the same path.

"No need for you to be sorry, it was my rib that broke the glass, and I was the one who didn't check the broken glass covered floor when all I had were socks on. Oh, sorry Sparky," she added rather sheepishly once she noted that the bottom of her foot was pointed directly at him, small drops of the thick liquid dripping to form a small puddle. Quickly she took her hoodie, using the sleeve to wipe the blood from the floor, then used a clean spot to wipe the bottom of her foot. The sock from her other foot was removed, stretched, then tied around her injured foot, after which the hoodie was tossed in the same direction of the glass and bloody sock.

Her legs were then folded pretzel style, the bottom of her shoddily bandaged foot pointing toward her. Only when all that was completed did she focus her mirth filled sea-foam gaze on him, questioning half grin in place, wondering if she'd have to spring into action to catch him if he fainted.

Laken waited looking out the window until he was sure that she had disposed of any...red goo like liquid.
He shrugged when he talked about her flying body part...
bone manipulation...
eh...almost as bad as blood.
But he could at least handle bone manipulation.
He let out a small chuckle when she referred to him as "Sparky" he'd have to think up an equally annoying name for her...
Well, he said clapping his hands together and moving towards her the crunch of glass under his feet.
Let's get you out of this glass cluttered room. he said looking over at the blood stained sweater,
I hope you don't like that hoodie too much...Now please, don't struggle. Because I am not about to let you walk around on that foot...not to mention I don't think I could handle another impalement... He said leaning down, without giving her time to complain, and grabbing her behind her back and picking her up off the ground when she was in the arm he moved his other arm underneath her knees.
Comfy? he asked with a grin.

Now were she a normal person, the seventeen year old would've simply wrapped her arms around his shoulders, letting him play the knight riding in on the white horse. However she was no damsel in distress, and Ace, being Ace, was far too proud and stubborn to accept his help.

"Quite," she responded with a cheeky grin, before trying to find some way to worm from his grasp. This was accomplished with a rather awkward roll type movement to the side, her 'graceful' landing was similar to that of a cat's, her hands and knees hitting the floor with a soft thud.

"Unfortunately being carried around would be horrendous for my training, making me lazy and what not, thanks for the offer though," unaffected by her fall she stood, speaking as she did so, weight on one foot while she hopped to her brown sneakers, bending and picking them up. Hopping to her hoodie, she repeated the process, inspecting the blood stained sleeve and shrugged while she turned on her heel to face him.

"And I'll have you know this is my favorite training, sleeping, or just plain being lazy, hoodie," her words were laced with mock hurt, her grin a telling sign of the fact that she was joking. Ace then wrapped her sneakers in the clean midsection of the dark green article of clothing, she then began to tie the sleeves together, her attention momentarily focused on finishing her makeshift basket.

Laken felt her drop from his arms and only had time enough to blink before she was back on her feet and collecting her things.
Alright, he said with a shrug But I cannot be held responsible for what will happen if you cut yourself again
Laken chuckled and played along with her hurt.
Oh, I am so sorry Miss. Sassy. Let me provide you with this token of my apology.
he said pulling the black sweater off his back and walking over to her and plopping it on her head.
You've already hurt my feelings once, so just keep it and burn it later if you choose not to wear it. he said with a laugh and poked her in the middle of her back.
