"I get that. I mean, even though I look mostly human I'd have to wear a charm to go out in the Narrow Reality and not get stared and squinted at. But like..."

Alma paused, leaning on the desk and thinking. "I think it's noble cause to work towards. But I also think it's important to try and make the island as close to a Utopia as we can. Because like... if we can't ever break down the Veil. Or if we do and it goes badly and we have to hide again... it'd better that this place is as close to perfect as it can be."

Liliana was wiping a window pane clean, listening to the girls talk. She knew she was the most human looking of the group, yet the island felt more like home than where she was from. She felt the girls before her, were more her friends and would understand her better than her own kind would.

"You know, Yasmin, "Liliana started a bit shyly, "if you ever wanted, I could take you off the island sometime." she offered. She hadn't used the power Amber had bestowed on her yet, but Liliana understood how it worked, and thought it might be fun to try if Yasmin wanted to ever leave the island.

Yasmin nodded at Alma. The more argumentative part of her wanted to say that at least she wasn't a giant snake person, but that would have been uncalled for and damage her agenda. "I've thought about that a bit. It's why I want to help lessen stigma against the inhuman here. Spread from the inside out, if that makes sense. From Manta Carlos to the rest of the world."

Yasmin momentarily paused her sweeping to give an interested, but doubtful look at Liliana. "Do I... I don't want to sound picky, but do I need to wear a human charm? I'm not too comfortable with hiding myself out there... I should really get over that. I can't convince the Narrow Reality if I don't know what it's like."

Alma grinned wide, her tail flicking happily at Yasmin. This girl was so much like her, she loved it! "You should run for council. I'm sure you'd do great, and you're clearly passionate about all this."

Passion alone wasn't enough, Alma knew, but it was as good a place as any to start. She quirked an eyebrow at Liliana and her offer to take Yasmin off island, grabbing a broom to start to sweep but listening in nonetheless.

Liliana shook her head at Yasmin's words regarding the human charm, "No, not if you don't want to..." she said as she climbed down off the ladder. "I mean, you can if you want, but no..." she added, kind of rambling.

"It's a bit odder than that," she confessed, having always thought the human charm thing was an odd thing on an island where a lot of beings were not human anyways.

"You'd kind of fuse with me," she told her, looking at Alma then a bit sheepishly before continuing, knowing her abilities were just, a bit odd compared to most out there... "be part of me, see and hear what I hear and see basically. It would sort of be like travelling in a human vehicle," she said, trying to explain what it was she could do so it didn't sound as odd as it was.

Yasmin gave Alma a sheepish smile. One that said she would consider it, but was slightly more focused on what Liliana was saying. The idea sounded, to be crude, cool as heck. She had trouble seeing the downsides. Liliana said the plan right in front of Alma and there were sure to be cameras set up in classrooms. If she planned to harm Yasmin, she'd be the first suspect.

Before answering, Yasmin gave Alma a quick look to see how she felt about it. Liliana was older, but Alma felt more mature. Or maybe that was just Yasmin putting her inspiration on a higher pedestal. "I think a human charm would be more simple, but... that sounds really really cool! I'd have to ask my parents first. Make sure you're safe and all. I'd need to go with someone experienced anyways. I'm not too familiar with a lot of human customs... like walking on two legs..."
