Pandora had hoped that the crowd might disperse, or at the very least move away from her tree. unfortunately the opposite was true. More and more protesters seemed to arrive by the minute, and rather than abandon the tree, they were setting things up under. A woman sat making signs for people to hold. They had the standard slogans being shouted, "Go to Hell" And one even had the slogan "Real men don't have horns" on it. There were also a stack of plain unmade signs leaning against the base of the tree.

for the spider this might be an opportunity to at least have a little fun while she was trapped up here and alone. All she really needed was something to wright with. As luck would have it several packets of Sharpies were laying next to the unused signs.

With little else to occupy her time Pandora began forming a few well knit lines of threat. They were almost invisible, and tipped with a few super sticky pieces to allow her to snap up whatever she wanted. A few moments later and she had a small stack of signs.

The first sign was simple enough. She started by drawing a crude looking screw and beside it a baseball. Under neath it she made an arrow pointing down to show that the person carrying the sign was in fact a screwball. With a surgeons precision she deposited the sign into a pile of finished ones, where it was immediately picked up without being looked at. "My you people are morons" She said in a quiet giggle as the protester marched to the front of the pack waving his screwball sign for all to see.

Things looked like they were degrading but it seemed both sides were trying to hold back from doing anything to drastic or else get the ire of the undecided majority and Kaya knew it wasn't going to be her fault if things heated up further. Through it seemed like the CAE people were beginning a new chant and she could hear the counter chant from the DSU beginning and she joined in eagerly.

While she chanted she noticed something odd going on over by a tree in the CAE horde...she could see someone leaning down and dropping some signs down somewhere. Then she saw the by products from this mysterious other entity. Taking note of it she shimmied through the crowd heading towards Chloe. Did she send someone over there? Was this going to damage anything? There were a lot of quesitons she wanted to ask but that required getting to Chloe first.

It took her a minute or two to actually get near Chloe but once she did she gave her friend a surprise hug but broke it quickly seeing as how this development might cause problems. "Chloe, Darling....did you happen to sneak someone into enemy territory for some sabotage?" While speaking her warning she pointed to one sign that now had a screw ball on it. "I'm not sure if they have noticed yet but I don't want things devolving."

Shay couldn't help but stare at Invidia. She was much prettier out of the simulation, but Shay had always been comforted by inhuman appearances. The gorgeous markings, the stunning eyes, the coloration of her horns, or the way her ears came to a point. She wanted to reach out and touch Vidia's tail but suppressed the urge.

While Invidia's smile was hesitant and touched with uncertainty, Shay's was not. She beamed at her simulation-sister (a word thought up on the spot, she'd have to use it later) and rose her sign a little higher. "Understatement of the year," she giggled, pausing a beat to wait for the chanting to die down. "You look beautiful. I mean, you were pretty in the game, but you look so much prettier like this."

Vinanye almost missed Chloe's voice in the sea of others. When she was in front of him, he gave an excited little bounce and nodded. "Hello, Chloe! I am good," he decided not to bring up his thoughts about such a protest. It was still confusing. "Yes! Yes! I brought FAE out to help. We must stick together."

Vidia tried, really tried to ignore the feeling that eyes had always been on her but it was hard to when she was getting it from the person closest to her. It wouldn't be too uncomfortable on a usual day, but today was not one of those days. She felt pretty self-conscious today. She kept herself occupied with chanting along, letting her gaze wander for anyone else familiar but found there was no one. Vidia could have only hoped Shay wouldn't talk to her too much.

Which a prayer that went unheard. She almost flinched when Shay spoke again. "Well, that sure is a thing I've never heard before," she said before she could stop herself. There was a second that passed in between before she managed to speak again. "I was pretty sure I was more likable the other way."

"Why?" Shay asked, perplexed. Why wouldn't she be told she was beautiful when she very much was? Jestingly, the girl giggled and added, "as a sister you were kind of a butt. It's fine; sisters are supposed to be that way. I don't know how likable you are yet. We haven't had much time to speak."

Shay peered around. The middle of a protest was not the place to get to know someone. She pulled out a strip of paper and jotted down her cell phone and home number before handing them to Invidia. "You should call my cell phone if you wanna talk about stuff. Anything, really. And the home phone will probably get you, Vito or Klaus. If you needed a job... well, I'm sure they'd take you in. We all got pretty close in there. Family is important."

Pip hovered above the crowd of protesters and their counter protestors. WAY above them. They were up higher than most of the buildings so all the people just looked like ants. They had closed up their bakeries for the day so their employees could join the protesters if they so pleased. Most of them had and they could spot a couple of the faeries flying above the DSU group.

Pip on the other hand was yet to take a stance on either side of the issue. At least publicly. As an incarnation of the Birthday Fairy, they understood that forming political opinions was not part of their job description.

So why were they here then? Well, just because they couldn't publicly have political opinions didn't mean they didn't have them privately. After all, Pip ran one of the largest and longest standing business on the island; a business that required many delicate connections that could easily be destroyed if a group like the Citizens Against Evil got their way.

They doubted that would happen, but they were there to ensure that it didn't.

Invidia's lips quirked to a wry smile, "I got used to people skittering around the word 'pretty' for something like 'exotic' I guess. Not inherently a good word to use on my account," she admitted. The only other time people called her pretty wasn't looking to just complement her but that was another thing altogether. "I might know who to blame for me turning out to be such a butt as a family member. But anyway, not really everyone thinks I'm approachable so there's that but hey; that's one way to weed out the crowd."

She was only quietly thanking Shay that she hadn't decided to plow her with questions today when Shay had given the strip of paper to her. Invidia looked at the note on the paper before she tucked it away into her pocket for safe keeping. While most of her words seemed to have been drowned out into the noise of the crowd, there was the thought that came after 'I'm sure they'd take you in'. Klaus seemed to have been rather welcoming when she had spoken to him before. A small smile crept onto her features at the thought of it, "Sure thing. Maybe after this mess settles down."

"I mean, I guess you look unique. But everyone kinda does around here. Lots of Demons with horns. I like the purple patterns, though. They really accentuate how beautiful you are." Shay cleared her throat a bit awkwardly.

Shay beamed when Invidia took the slips of paper. Her answer was hesitant, but the smile on her face told Shay that yes, Invidia planned on calling one of the numbers. Likely the home number, but either would get her in with the Rosales'. There was no use fighting it. It was going to happen. When Klaus or Shay set their attention on someone, they got what they wanted.

She gave Vidia a little salute, raising her sign to its full height again. "Good. We'll talk more when we're not surrounded by a protesting crowd." With that, she moved away, more focused on helping the cause now that her greed had subsided.

Yura Bengall

Someone was trying to use the CAE against her.

Yura Bengall, owner of Club Gambit, was not a demon. Well, maybe not. No one could really say—not even Yura herself. And yet, someone had the balls to say that Yura was a demon to take advantage of this situation and use it against her. How quaint. How. Fucking. Quaint.

They obviously didn’t know who exactly they were fucking with.

First they vandalized Club Gambit. Then they started throwing bricks through the windows, nearly hitting her workers. The situation would not get any farther than that.

Yura was not directly involved in either protest as they went on. Rather, she lurked around in shadows, shifting between alleyways. She had the faces of those who had targeted her, but now she needed the names. The motivation would be a nice bonus too, but ultimately it didn’t matter. All that really mattered was that they targeted her, and now they were going to pay for it.

A small, sleek camera was Yura’s only weapon for the moment. Certainly, the temptation to drag one of her newfound enemies into one of those dark alleys to do with as she pleased was terribly tempting. Take them, destroy them, and then use them as a warning for the rest.

Ah, but that was just reminiscing. She couldn’t do those things anymore, not on Manta Carlos. She was ‘reformed’, wasn’t she? Certainly not a kinder Yura, but a more civilized one at least.

So, no one was going to be dragged into an alleyway that day—at least not by Yura. It was a simpler plan. She tracked down those she knew were actively targeting Club Gambit, snapped some photos, and…well, that was it. For now. Research and connections would handle the finding their identities, and through that…well…

There were other ways to ruin people’s lives besides physical destruction.

Satisfied with the pictures she could get, clearly showing each person of interest’s face, Yura was done. She was not interested in staying for the protests—the CAE or the counter protests. Her reason for being there at all was entirely selfish. She had what she needed, and there was no reason to stay. She wouldn’t even bother to say hello to some of the familiar faces that were around.

No, she was done here. She slipped down into the dark alleyways, and disappeared into the shadows.
