Leading up to the annual Tree Lighting ceremony, every December, Starlight Academy puts at the disposal of its students and faculty an ornament-making workshop where they can create their own personalized ornaments to hang on a Christmas tree which is located in Oceana Park.

The tree, along with its tree lighting ceremony, is a much-loved tradition by inhabitants of the island and citizens, both young and old, are encouraged to help decorate the tree.

This year, the Christmas ornament making and decorating workshop will be run by the Home Economics teacher, Celeste Forestier in the Arts Building. All students and faculty are invited to join.

Celeste Forestier hummed happily to herself as she placed baskets of colorful ribbons, tubes of glue and holiday glitter, felt pieces in different colours, pots of paint and markers, pine cones, gingerbread figures, and a whole selection of odds and ends to create an ornament to place on this year's tree.

"Good afternoon, Azucena," she said with a warm smile and welcome. It was probably one of the Home Ecs teacher's favorite time of year.

"Help yourself to whatever you need. There is also some hot chocolate and hot apple cider along with some Christmas cookies on the table over there," Celeste told Azucena as she greeted more students as they filed in.

"Thanks, Miss Forestier," Azucena said as she entered the room. "Do you know if Yuki Hayashi has arrived yet?"

"Yuki? No, I don't think he has arrived yet, Azu," Celeste said as she glanced around the room. "But I'm sure he will be here soon."

Sushi happily trailed along, guided by his dorm parent, Callie, as they made their way into the ornament making workshop. She held his hand until they got to a crafting spot. Where she finally let the fish boy go. "Alright, Sushi..." She looked right into his mask. "Stay put. I'll be right back." Hoping that he would actually listen to her wishes, Callie got up and started collecting a few craft supplies to take back to the fish kid.

"Callie!" Celeste gushed. "So great that you could come," the Home Economics teacher said with a smile as she saw the woman enter with one of her charges.

"Can I get you two some hot chocolate or apple cider and a few cookies while you make your ornaments?" Celeste asked as she smiled Sushi's way.

Picking out a bottle of glue and a couple pom poms, Callie looked up when she heard a familiar voice. "Hey Celeste. Yeah, of course, wouldn't miss a chance like this." Callie gave a warm smile.

When asked if they wanted anything to eat or drink, she looked back at Sushi along with Celeste and Sushi waved back, seemingly behaving himself. Then she turned back to Celeste. "I'll take some cider, maybe just a cookie for the scuba diver over there. Thanks Celeste." Then she took what supplies she had gathered and dropped them on the table in front of Sushi. "There ya go."

Sushi looked at them with glowing eyes then tilted his head up to Callie. "Thank you Callie." To which she replied slow and clearly with "You're welcome."

A vaguely human sized cloud of mist would seemingly slide under the door, floating to clear area into the room it would shift into a tattooed girl. "Hello everyone~" she'd say with a bright and friendly smile. "I hope I am not interrupting, I am here for the ornament making, for the big holiday tree."

She'd continue to smile at everyone, floating a few inches off the ground. "I am Blue~" she'd bow, "it is wonderful to meet you all."

"Coming right up, Callie," Celeste said as she then went over to the refreshments table to get her colleague some hot apple cider and two sugar cookies shaped like candy canes for the "scuba driver".

"Here you two go," Celeste said as she set the cookies down, on a napkin, by Sushi and handed Callie her cider.

As Celeste was about to ask Sushi what they planned on making, another person appeared in the room.

"Hello, Blue," Celeste smiled, welcoming the newcomer. "Glad to have you. On the far table, there is hopefully everything you need to make an ornament or two," she said as she gestured to the long table full of ribbons, glitter, and other crafting supplies.

Yuki wandered in, having arrived just now to find a lack of Azucena in front of the arts building. She'd probably gone in before him, which made sense. "Um... good afternoon." He smiled, entering the classroom. The boy was surprised but happy to see Sushi - it was always nice to bump into a familiar face. Plus, he somehow felt it was good to remember that a lot of the people he met in the community centre were students too - even if for some reason they all tended to go at night (him included.)

"That smells nice..." He said, the scent of apples and cinnamon luring him over to the snacks. He eyed them but didn't touch, instead looking over to the teacher. "Um... Miss Celeste, might I ask what these could be for?" He asked, restraining himself. Perhaps they might not be for the students. He couldn't be rude and just take things...

Callie took the cider, taking a quick sip of the drink. "Delicious, thanks again." Sushi turned his helmet to Celeste as well, and although he wasn't sure what she'd given him, he knew to thank her for it. "Thank you."

Callie looked down at the cookies in front of Sushi and then at the boy's helmet. Feeding him through that helmet was a challenge, but she'd more or less gotten it down to a science now. Though it certainly wasn't a very graceful science. She reached into her purse and took out a long white rubber glove that went right up to her elbow and slipped it on her right hand. Then she took one of the cookies and held it up in front of Sushi's mask. "This is a cookie. This is food." And after getting a confirming nod from Sushi, she unscrewed the top off his helmet and plunged the cookie down into the water where he could bite it with his mouth.

"It is good." His eyes started glowing and he quickly took another two quick bites until the cookie was gone. Callie then pulled her hand back out, carefully removing the glove. "Good, I am glad you like it." She placed the glove in a plastic bag and shoved it back in to her purse. Then she screwed the top window of his helmet back on. Receiving another "Thank you" from Sushi.

Shortly after that, Callie made a little ornament by tying a string around a pine cone and adding some sparkles. "Like this." She handed the pine cone to Sushi and he got right to work on making a mess.

"You two are very welcome," Celeste said to Callie and gazed at Sushi., smiling at him when he thanked her. "If you should need anything else, let me know, okay?" she added warmly as she then took her leave and let Callie show Sushi how to make a Christmas ornament.

On her way back to the crafts tables, Celeste was stopped by a student she vaguely recognised.

"Yuki?" Celeste enquired when a young man asked her about the refreshment table. "Azucena was asking after you," she informed him as she gestured in the direction the young girl had gone after helping herself to a few cookies and a cup of hot cocoa.

"And yes, help yourself. The food is for everyone here," she told him amicably.
