Private Finished Checking Up

As she made her way back to her office from the food lab, Celeste looked through her student files again. She had a slightly uneasy and vague feeling that she had misplaced a file, someone she was supposed to welcome in and see if they were getting acquainted with the school, and if they needed anything. However, she couldn't find any record of such a meeting and began to wonder now if she had placed it on her desk - which was usually organized and spotless - in her pile of to-do things and had forgotten about it somehow.

Rummaging through her desk as soon as she got back to the tiny office that she shared with her assistant Euphemia, starting with the to-do basket - which came up empty - she realized in quiet dismay that she must have misplaced the file. Looking around the room thoughtfully, her gaze suddenly fell upon her filing cabinet and she wondered then if perhaps it had been filed away by accident?

Deciding to take a look, Celeste soon found what she was looking for, the file belonging to Noah Apalasin.

Celeste looked up from the student file when she heard the knock at the door and the sound of a male's voice.

"Noah?" she asked politely, even though she knew it had to be him. His picture on file confirmed that. "Please come in, have a seat," she said as she gestured for him to make himself comfortable on one of the two guest chairs in the room.

"I am Celeste Forestier," she explained as she welcomed him into her office. "And yes, I did. I called you down here today to see how you were adjusting, and if you needed anything?" she said as she looked at him with polite curiosity and concern.

"That's completely understandable," Celeste said to Noah as she gave him an understanding look. "You are not the first arrival to the island to find the technology on the Manta Carlos very different to what exists on their homeworlds."

When Noah mentioned not being sure he had everything needed to attend classes, Celeste looked quickly through his file to see whether or not they had assigned him his stipend, dorm room, and various odds and ends that each new student was afforded.

"It seems you were provided with the basics," Celeste told him after a minute of double checking figures and facts going through the list of items with him that Noah should possess already.

"Is there, perhaps, something else you require? Like special dietary needs?" Celeste asked, knowing some students had special diets or needs that the school tried to accommodate where and when possible.

Celeste had to smile at the young man's requests. She had been expecting something a bit more, well, complicated like a demand for a bigger dorm room, less morning classes, higher quality blood, not such easy to help out with requests like the two Noah was enquiring about.

"That should not be a problem at all," she said, knowing the cafeteria carried the juice along with orange as one of their everyday beverage choices. "I'll let one of the lunch workers know that you are wanting to try it," she said making a note in his file.

"And there are magical books on loan at the library that you should be able to check out," she informed him. "I also have a few books I could definitely loan you if you were looking for something specific?" she offered, always happy to help out other magic users or those interested in learning about spells and magic.

"Yes, the library has books on very basic magic and some on its theory as well," she explained when he asked, smiling at his surprise.

"Well, you are in luck then," Celeste said with a tiny laugh, "Most of my magic is geared towards healing. I can most certainly teach you some basic healing spells. Although, they can be a bit tricky to get right at first, especially if you haven't really done magic before," she told him as she looked at him curiously, wondering if he was naturally gifted like her, or an adept learner like Shiro who she was also teaching magic too,
